First, a "police surge"? There's manpower for that?
- A recently announced surge of Chicago police patrols on Chicago Transit Authority train lines is already paying dividends, with cops taking two men into custody within days for allegedly carrying loaded firearms on CTA Red Line platforms in the Loop, according to CPD and court records.
Good job on the arrests....but what's this?
- (Offender 1) - Judge James Murphy II detained him on charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon and carrying a firearm after a prior gun conviction.
- (Offender 2) - Moody was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felon. Prosecutors said his criminal history includes four prior gun convictions, including a 2021 armed habitual criminal case. He was ordered detained by Judge Antara Rivera.
We remember things like this happening....late last century, when we were rookies. Not any time recently though.

Kudos to the arresting officers involved. Significant baby steps taking back our out of control city. Now its time for the federal prosecutors and the lifetime appointed federal judges do their part on behalf of the American citizens they are tasked to protect.

City has blown past the 75 day limit (which was Dec 30) to pay CFD their retro pay. Local 2 has filed for expedited arbitration. City has never been late on retro pay for fire before.

Now mere possession of a weapon is detainable? Why…. Cause the city / county got called out on the ridiculous amounts of crime on the platforms / trains and it made the news? I mean hell even before the Safe-T Act went into effect they were giving Ibonds for weapon offenses. Guns used to be detained on a regular basis. Hell, even hypes who were locked up on bullshit drop cases would be held for 21 days because they couldn’t bond out. This is less than 20 years ago.
