Sneed Hears Rumbles!

In the (early) Sunday edition of the sun times, Michael Sneed hears rumbles that First Deputy Superintendent Dana Starks is unhappy with his reduced duties and may be considering resigning soon (Halloween like we said?). Is Hiram Grau (currently head of the Bureau of Investigative Services) going to be the new First?

Hmmm.

Is Sneed hearing the same things we are? Or is Sneed just reading this blog? Who cares? We'll just make this a shout out to Michael Sneed. Hi Michael! Thanks for reading and tell Frank and Fran we said "hi!"

UPDATE (09 OCT 10:45am): Here's the link; the Starks rumor is item #2. Item #1 is interesting also though. Seems like another "fish-in-a-barrel" type bust by the FBI. Any details on which district it might be? And why, in this age of easily intercepted audio and verbal communications would you get involved with this? Isn't the office pool enough?

Not surprizing...Dana Alexander was a Starks guy but is also smart enough to keep his options open. Alexander and Williams are close too. Watch and see where Alexander goes???

Sneed hears rumors...she got her rumors from this site, or Frank Main, who use to be her legman told her about this site. Sneed is an old hasbeen who doesn't have any original story's or scoops, unless given to her by cityhall, or the Burkes.

Starks, former Dep. Supt. Wigham (now Stroger's Chief of Staff) and Ald. Beavers recently met to plan Starks' future. Wigham and Beavers are Starks' guys. Where will Dana go...only where the wheel stops will he know. Good luck in your new job.

1) Starks' departure: why not, his connections will take care of him in the future (since he is now the 1st deputy of CAPS (?); I mean, when his app't was announced, many said, WHAT? (I mean, recent promotions and assignments leave many dumbfounded, some say, "they" (the Dept.) just can't get any more ridiculous, but then with the next order they find a way to outdo themselves;
2) a district under inv. by the feds...who knows what District, but any stupidity/criminality involved deserved whatever comes;
3) minority promotions, then comes trouble: the City continues to bow to the gods of diversity; mix that with political clout (i.e., hey, you're a minority and you know so and so ?, hey, you're our guy/girl !, here's a spot! (lt., capt., cmdr., etc.). One almost feels for those of minority status, who are truly qualified and competent, but don't know the right people, and don't get the promotion/assignments they would be good at...

To be an associate Reverend you have to have your mug on tv at least three times in a 90 day period complaining about one of the following:

1.Racism by the police department.
2.Racism in the labor ranks and contracts (must be standing next to unskilled morons in yellow hats).
3.Any bandwagon that can be jumped on where you can call yourself a community activist.

Why does it always have be about race? For once in your life, you might want to consider the fact that everything that's negative that happens to "a person of color" is not solely based on race. In this case it might just be that the man is not qualified for the position, and we all know he's not. He's made some bonehead decisions and as a result, it cost him. There's alot of idiots in charge in this department and nobody here has a problem saying so, regardless of race. Him getting neutered has nothing to do with his race, but with his ineptness.

Whatever, it's like anything else. You have to be liked by the right people, go to the right church, and say the right things when asked.

Jeeez, you didnt hear the Irish crying and moaning at the turn of the century. They just did it. Took over the city that is.
