Let's Try Something Different

We've tried friendly warnings. We've tried stern warnings. We've tried deleting garbage. We've even explained about IP addresses, "sniffer" programs, electronic fingerprints, etc.

Now we'll go farther. At the bottom of all comments posts, there is a word verification box. To post on this site, you will have to enter the word or set of letters as it appears in the box. This is not only a "spam" preventer for robot programs that surf the internet (they can't read the words) - this can also be cross referenced to a specific IP address that is logged.

Coppers fuck up more nice things for each other than 100 shitheads could fuck up in a year. This isn't directed at all our readers, but the few tiny brained jackasses that are suddenly 800 pound gorillas behind a keyboard and just can't shut their fucking yaps.

Here's an incentive to straighten up and fly right - you behave and the word verification comes off after a bit. You really DON'T want to see what the next step is.

The city/state has made a move against one of the hardest working and most legit guys on this job.

I do NOT want to identify the officer, where he works, etc., because I do not want to bring further attention to it at this time. He deserves better.

If/when the time comes, I hope we can stand together as brothers and sisters in blue, and support this officer.

Alot of shit gets tossed around on this board. Done it several times myself. It is for entertainment and information.

I only hope that when it matters, when we need to stick together, the opinions and statements made in jest, in spite, etc. don't clowd our ability to unite, show support, and assist a brother when he is in need.

I'll second that. He is probably the hardest working Police Officer I too have ever seen and what they are doing to him is an absolute shame. While some of the bosses (actually only one )didn't like him, he was ALWAYS there to help out even though it meant that he was sometimes overwhelmed with his work load. He is very, very knowlegable and the guy to go to when you needed help. If he did do what he's accused of, I consider it to be completely out of character for him and I'm sure that his buttons were pushed just once to often. He is an asset to this Dept. and I hope thats considered by the powers that be.

Ok guys, you can quit with the cloak and dagger stuff. Give us the anonymous hypothetical version. You know, "I have this friend..." The city is screwing over blue shirts and white shirts all the time. Those of us out of the loop would like to be a little informed.

Sorry about the spelling error. I'ts getting late and I'm a little sleepy. As far as naming the Officer, we won't do that at this time. He's very depressed and in a state of shock as is the watch that he was on. Lets just say there is an allegation of an offense that is fireable and worse. And it couldn't come to a more less deserving guy.

Lets just say it could happen to anyone of us. So remember there are cameras watching you every where. I hope the Officer comes out good and I hope he knows if he needs anything we are all here to help, all he needs to do is ask.

Of course, if this alleged officer actually did what he is accused of, why should we all feel bad for him? I'm tired of being asked to give money for the benefits of guys who clearly knew what they were doing was wrong, but did it anyway, then cry about how the Deapartment is fucking them.

If this guy is WRONGFULLY accused, then may god bless him and I hope everything turns out great for him! I hope the complaint is unfounded and never used against him.

If he isn't wrongfully accused, fuck him.

Ok, you don't have to out this guy, but at least tell us what he did. A previous poster (10:35;14 AM) aluded to cameras. Did some one tape this guy doing something?

When this is all played out, if this Officer is exonerated, he needs to sue whomever brought the bogus complaint against him.

Hope things work out for him in the meantime.

If its on camera, he most likely did do whatever he did. They have enough evidence there before he even knew it probably. Everyone just needs to do what they think is right and if doing wrong seems right to you, you don't belong here.

No, it couldn't "happen to any of us" because MOST of us wouldn't beat a guy with a sap while he is in the emergency room handcuffed AND leg shackled while sitting in a wheelchair and the whole thing is being videotaped.

C'mon now guy, the officer we're talking about is a great guy, but anyone who didn't see something like this coming from him a long time ago must be blind.

OK...12:25 got the elements correct. We omit the name. Now my question is...if WE see it coming and we are not blind....what can WE do to prevent it from happening...?? Does the Department have a remedy for this...?? Could other blue-shirts have an intervention...?? I do think ANY of us could go overboard...maybe not to this degree...This stuff does happen....does this Officer belong in the criminal system...?? should he just be fired...?? What say you...?? Any suggestions....??

One thing you can do is to make ALL SHOPLIFTER ARRESTEE'S COMPLAINANT'S COME INTO THE STATION AND GET SWORN IN BY THE DESK SGT. PRIOR TO FILLING OUT A COMPLAINT. SECOND YOU ASK THE ALLEGED OFFENDER IF THE SECURITY GUARD/AGENT HAD BATTERED HIM IN ANY WAY. IF SO , THEN LOCK UP THE AGENT FOR THE STORE ON SIGNED COMPLIANTS OF COURSE.

THIS IS A SMALL STEP BUT IT WILL SEND A MESSAGE.

You are right about him being a great officer. Hard working, trustworthy and honest to a fault. He is literally the kind of guy who would give another P.O. a kidney if you asked, no bullshit! The problem is, when this video tape hits the news, none of that matters. It will all come down to those 2 minutes or so of really really really bad judgement on his part.

I sincerely hope that he can stay out of jail on this one. I understand that there is crystal clear video evidence as well as a number of security guards and nurses that gave statements against him. Me thinks his job is a goner for sure. Let's hope that's all.

This guy lived and breathed being the police. It's all he had. Those that know him well, please keep an eye on him. A close eye. He may not even realize how much trouble he's in. And if he does, he may not take it well...

I've stepped on my dick before...one time it cost me big, one time no one noticed.

In this day with video cameras everywhere, especially in someone's cell phone, you're a fool to give anyone a tuneup. You got a loudmouth? Applause works. If not that, maybe a verbal exchange, but no way can you justify cracking anyone who's not attacking you.

In my father's time, disrespect got you an ass beating. Also in my father's time, we had channel 2, 5, 7 & 9 and they closed shop after midnight. Times are a changing and those who don't change risk it all.

Think about it: Do you really give a shit what some asshat thinks of you, or says? I don't, because I know when it's over, I'm going home to my family and home. He's going to jail, and when he gets out, he has no thing like I have.

Don't go tuning people up, and partners, if you see your partner starting to lose it, do him a favor and stop him before he throws it away.

How about we advise offenders to sue the complainants that don't show up in court for false arrest?
Explain the consequences of failing to prosecute to victims who are reluctant or lazy?

Good or Bad idea?

Formally swear all complainants using our clerk powers and then explain what will happen to them if they are found lie-ing on a case report or not prosecuting!

good or bad idea?

SUBJECT: "Something Diffrent"

1) Bla, bla, bla, under duress, woozee-weee, woo-woo-woo this, woo-woo-woo that, lose my good paying, dont have to do much if i dont want to, city job.
2) Do ya think you can change the "font" on the characters on what you have to type? It gets really hard when I'm drinking (alot) to decipher. After 10-12 beers it looks something like chineese/arabic! 16-18 I cant tell, vomit and spit usually in the way.
A P/O
Seriously... Its screwed up that it had to come to this, and hopefully we dont have to go to the "next step". As stated before (unfortunatly) "coppers can screw up a good thing!". But, how many times do you have to tell people the same fucking thing???
"what we have here,,is,,a failure, to communicate!,,, well, this is the way he wants it,,, he gets it!" (and off to the box Luke goes). The same reasons we have to carry those cute "nerf" lights! Some people just dont listen.
P.S. I understand (maby rumor?) that the P/O involved in off duty accident a while ago passed away. If so, a short but heart-felt prayer so he can look out after us, and that the family can cope!

The City tried to railroad me a couple of years ago. A Sgt in IAD said I let my informant deal drugs in my presence at an intersection that didn't exist, and he said it was on tape. I was charged with a bunch of BS and suspended pending separation. The day before I was to have my hearing, and I had ASAs & other witnesses , Terry Hillard decided to drop all charges and said I should re instated immediately, which took over 2 months. The only people who did anything for me,where my fellow officers and FOP. Thrust me all you have out there is each other, and you better stick together

EVERGREEN PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT

Hey guys do us all a favor if you pull any of these guys over or there family make sure you hammer them, because they will hammmer you.

I know of 3 PO's that have received tickets from them. They threatened to lock up my spouse (who is also the Police) during the Toys For Tots run for blocking the intercection so their motorcade could get through and I now have been made aware of 2 seperate occasions where children of Chicago PO's where hammered by these guys and when they advised them they had parents that where the police one of the officers name unknow but SHE stated "I don't give a fuck who your family is. The latest incident I heard about was a kid with his license for less than a week we can thank Officer WAGNOR of the Evergreen Park PD for that one. So it would be nice if we could return the same courtesy to this wonderful Police Department and it's members.

I've had lots of dealings with EPPD, and they've all been positive. Also, I know quite a few of them.

And I've heard a ton of horror stories from the suburban coppers who surround the southside, (Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Hometown, Merrionette Park, Alsip) about what jagoffs some (SOME MIND YOU, not ALL) of the city coppers are. Everything from completely disobeying orders to pull over with the star out the window, to MFing them for not KNOWING they are stopping the police.

I would like to hear the other side of the story. Usually when it gets that far, someone was an asshole, and as we all know, it's usually the off duty copper and/or family member that's the asshole.
