Any Bets?

Anyone want to guess on how soon Hampton Jr, Haithcock or someone else compares the "Fred Hampton Street Name" controversy to a "Crash" moment? We give it a day, tops.

Off topic a bit, but as a F/1, I have to say I'm totally embarassed by the apparel of 36 Mafia. C'mon guys, you couldn't hang up the tired track suit look for what turns out to be the biggest night of your career?!

Granted, they were really excited to win, but enough already with the ghetto-wear. That ranks up there with that girl's basketball team that went to the White House and half of them were wearing flip-flops.

There's something about a movie that tries to turn the struggle of a pimp into "Pollyanna" that disturbs me. Ugh!

My best friend's uncle was PO Gilhooly and I can assure you that this talk about the street renaming is like pouring salt in their wounds and also for every other slain officer's family. I feel very strongly about showing a strong police presence on 29 MAR at City Hall- 2nd Floor for the City Council Meeting-1000 hours. Anyone planning on joining me??

Off topic:

Hasa anyone seen anything regarding this new central youth center on California?

What happens when a PO from 022 or 017 has a youth? TDo they now take half a tour to bring a kid down there? Do they have to wait there to tranfers the kid to juv. dent if he is detained?

It takes the promise of a winning lotto ticket to get a parent to come into a station, who will be responsible to get the to head all the way to 30th in California????

To SCC:
You, Sir, have the power to persuade people (i.e. The Police). You have posted your number of hits to this blog, and congrats on reaching a million soon, if not, already! It may be only a few hundred regular, and some semi-regular individuals who frequent this blog (for all others there is hope; METAMUCIAL!). You have posted hits from our brethren in NYPD, (welcome our cousins in blue!) England, and all points in between! From cops, firemen, city workers and supporters, and a few haters as well. THE WORD NEEDS TO BE SPREAD! "29 MARCH, 10:00am City Hall, 2nd Fl!" SCC, be that voice! To the regular, and semi-regular visitors: Spread the word: "29 March, 10:00am City Hall, 2nd Floor!" Post it in the roll-call rooms, locker rooms, bathrooms through all the districts and units! Post it at court! SHOW UP! Tell other officers to show up as well! We bitch and moan about how we get "fucked" by the system, city, dept... on a regular basis. If WE take a stand, WE will be heard! 50 cops, can be ignored, 150 cops can too, but 1500 cops, kind of hard to ignore that! Let City Hall look like St Jude's parade! At least that will be a start! If we get shot down, we go from there! Bring a sign with "PO Gilhooly" Ave, or "PO Rappaport" Way. Fuck that asswipe alder-roach, and that scum rush as well! Show the support that they deserve, SHOW UP! "29 March, 10:00am City Hall, 2nd Floor!"

Now, Having been on this Dept for a while, I know there are a few "nay-sayers" in the group, the ones who will tell you, after you ask them to show up; "what good will that do?" or "why?" or better yet "fuck that". To you I ask; what would you want if you were shot, and 30 some years later, they wanted to name a street after someone who had a part in your death? Are you afraid that someone will take down your name, and not promote you? Might not get into that unit? Dumped from your "spot"? Fuck that! Who the hell would want to stop you from supporting some of your fallen brothers? Better to take a stand now, then take it in the ass later! "29 March, 10:00am City Hall, 2nd Floor!"

P.S. Thats one million page views, and over 200,000 visitors! Keep up the fight!

I agree if you are available show up on 29 March. We can ride the bus and el for free still so you really don't have an excuse if you are available....I know I posted something similar on another thread so bear with me because it needs repeating. If they do vote for this abomination of a street naming our next recourse is to vote them out. Ald. Hatecops and her cronies only care about their pocketbooks...The best way to hurt them is to take away their cash.

We as a unified group voted out a judge several years ago. I propose that if it happens, we organize as a group and vote out each and every one of these worthless pieces of sh*t. I don't care if the one we vote in is worse than this one. The one we vote in will know that we were the reason they were elected. We as a group are a powerful voting block in this city. We live or have relatives and friends that live in all 50 wards. A "vote for anyone but haithcock" campaign would get the message across loud and clear. Don't F*ck with us!

first consider the source of anti-cops movies ... HOLLYWEIRD.

these HOLLYWEIRD screenwriters, producers, directors, AND yes actors are the most oddball group of creeps you ever want to meet.

remember that perception sometimes becomes reality, so when HOLLYWEIRD has contact with the police when theyre all jacked up on drinks and drugs and get caught boofooing a chicken and hit the slammer they eventually sober up and their perception of how their arrest went down gets distorted and perverted and they like to write and make movies about rogue cops out there setting people up and killing people who've seen too much.

what utter nonsense, and the mindless lemmings who go see these movies want to believe its true, now they have problems with juries convicting people because they get all caught up in the CSI series, these morons in the jury pool actually believe that their local police have a crime lab that using technology that hasnt even been invented yet can solve the murder in a half hour.

so sure it is inevitable that some talking head or political stooge, or some wanna be activist type will make the comparison.

however its up to us not to believe the hype.

a got a positive black male role model that would be head and shoulders above chairman fred to be honored with a street sign ...

police officer eddie jones jr. chicago police officer killed in the line of duty and he even worked on the west side.

There are many real black hero's from Chicago who should be memorialized: Ollie Singleton, Jim Camp, Eddie Jones Jr, and so many others. The list is, regrettably, long. They were all real men-the standouts who now lay silent in the shadows of the dysfuctional members of their race. I think we should take over an FOP meeting and resolve to start naming streets, parks, and schools after heros instead of pimps, queers, burglars, and murderers of our police.

My son wanted to see the new Dave Chappelle movie yesterday and during his "block party" in Brooklyn a rapper introduced Freddie Jr. and said they were all OV's (original victims) of terrorism and that Freddies old man was gunned down next to baby mama as she carried Freddie Jr.. Naturally, there was the reference to the police killing FH. The movie was filmed in Sept 2004. About that time I felt a bowel movement coming on.

Back to the bet....The sign will fly. But, I bet it disappears one night, as well. :-)

Eddie Jones is honored with a street sign...back in the fall of 1998. It originally was on the northwest corner on Western Ave...just south of Cermak. It is now located on the east side of Western at 22nd place....not sure why it was moved....

We said this before
We’ll say it again
People of Chicago
We beg you don’t bend

Some of you hate us
Some let it known
Some realize we’re needed
Let me set the tone

We all took this job
With one thing in mind
To try and make a difference
And better mankind

We come when you need us
We come during cold
We come promptly to save you
They can’t break our mold

One thing is certain
They can’t take away
The love for our fallen
The prayers that we say

So stand up for honor
Stand up for us
Tell our leaders you support us
It’s about dignity, it’s about trust

The 2nd Ward Office of Ald. Madeline Haithcock is located at 1234 S. Michigan Ave.

Phone: (312)913-0222
FAX: (312)913-1209
eMail: MHaithcock@CityofChicago.org

"...I don't want to cause dissension among our police officers. If that's going to cause dissension...then I won't put up the sign" - Ald. Madeline Haithcock, 2nd Ward

"...when did Fred Hampton do anything to the police but run his mouth?" - Ald. Haithcock

QUESTION FOR ALD. HAITHCOCK:

WHY DID THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY NAME THEIR TWO "HEALTH CLINICS" (on both 16th St. and Wilson Ave.) after the late SPURGEON "JAKE" WINTERS?"

R.S.V.P., Ald. Haithcock.

HARD COPY DOCUMENTATION OF STATEMENTS ATTRIBUTED TO ALD. MADELINE HAITHCOCK, 2ND WARD:

"...I don't want to cause dissension among our police officers. If that's going to cause dissension...then I won't put up the sign." - Chicago Sun-Times, (Fran Spielman), February 28, 2006.

"...tell me when did Fred Hampton do anything to the police but run his mouth(?)" - Chicago Tribune, (Gary Washburn), March 1, 2006.

Kindly respond, Ald. Haithcock and Chicago print media.

If Ald. Haithcock refuses to comment on her above quotes, it unequivocally proves that her sign proposal was disingenuous in the first place.

Furthermore, it clearly demonstrates to the impartial observer that both Ald. Haithcock and her mentor, the former BPP "minster of information", now U.S. Congressman Bobby Rush, are shamelessly "playing the race card" by stirring up a hornet's nest to further their own political agendas, not the least of which is the consummate polarization of this city.

If local media declines to pursue Ald. Haithcock's contradictory comments, their complicity of silence is equally reprehensible.

If anyone would like to read more on encounters between members of the BPP versus police, check the article which appeared in the New Yorker magazine on February 13, 1971.

While the link is too lengthy to post here, go to the GOOGLE search engine and using quotation marks in your search as follows, enter the three following names:

"Edward Jay Epstein" (the author)

"Spurgeon Winters" (vs. CPD 2nd Dist.)

"Larry Roberson" (vs. CPD 11th Dist.)

Upon downloading author Epstein's synopsis, scroll down to two individual headings, which occurred 1969 in Districts 011 and 002, respectively.

The Case of LARRY ROBERSON involving Off. Kenneth Gorles & Daniel Sampila, 011.

The Case of SPURGEON WINTERS involving Off. John Gilhooly, 002 & Frank Rappaport, 003. SIX additional police officers were injured (non-fatal) in this shoot-out.
