When you show up at work tomorrow, chances are better than even that there will be an Inspector driving in the lot to see if everyone has a City Sticker on their car, bike or truck. It's just about the easier mover they can write, it's worth a day off with no pay, and they regularly get a couple dozen coppers for it. Don't be the one with the short paycheck.

The City Sticker is rumored to be going up to $100.00 next year for a regular car and $125.00 for an SUV right after the Mayor's and Aldermen elections. The joys of living in the City. What is FOP doing about residency? I can't wait to see if FOP endorses do nothing Olvio in my ward.
I got my city sticker on my car and hope the mopey coppers that stall on buying their stickers get jammed because if I got to spend the money so do you others. Today is the day to have a pool in your backyard. It is too humid and hot. My buddies from 12th district laughed at me for spending money getting my 24 foot pool. My one buddy set up a basketball court in his yard instead of a pool. What an asshole. All that concrete on a HOT and HUMID day like today. He is probably BOILING in his yard while I am all COOL and COMFORTABLE. Besides, chicks like guys with pools on a HOT day like today. I got two very fine HOOTER chicks coming over in about an hour with bikinis, and we are gonna listen to JIMMY BUFFET and party. I am PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.

Someone posted about the slow response in the 008th District. I work in 008. And, although we have our share of dogs, the 008th District is too busy for the work force -- there is no district even close (7, 11, 10) to the 008th District for calls of service. Please check the facts. So what happens, the people on the westend of 008 get screwed. You must Move! There is not one thing that any single patrol officer can do. Nor the Sergeants and Lts. We get assinged our jobs and handle them.
As we all know, when the boundaries in the 008th were created, the demographics were alot different in every beat. Right now, all but two beats in the enitre 008th District has changed. If you're a young copper, DO NOT - DO NOT, move your family to the 008th District, it gets worse by the day. It will NOT get better. You are better off looking in 009th, 022nd even 002 to raise your family. I will stick out the next 8 years.
The City of Lousiville has 254,000 in popluation, the 008th District has 245,000. And the 008th District population increase in poor, poverty residents every day.

Well I know how I became a Ranger. Back in the mid 80's I spent the most miserable 72 days of my life humping a hundred pounds of gear around Georgia, Utah and Florida, where we were issued 2 meals (or less) a day and averaged just over 4 hours sleep a night (some days none) for the 10 weeks. I started in the best shape of my life at 204lbs. I finished a 168lb zombie who got tired just eating dinner. During that time I learned the ins and outs of small unit operations behind enemy lines. I learned to fight and survive in mountains, forests, jungles and deserts. Many military professionals consider Ranger School the finest small unit leadership school in the world. Students come from all branches of the service and allied nations. It has a 30% graduation rate. Later on I spent two different tours with the Ranger Regiment, where I participated in dozens of deployments, and combat operations on 3 different continents. Apparently on this job you get assigned to a district out of the academy, show up shit scared your first night, learn to do drive by 19P's, and furrow your eyebrow when pumping your own nads. The animal like behavior of the residents in your district makes you a bad motha. That is a CPD ranger. Most of them would shit their drawers if they miss lunch.
I live in 008 (Bt 812) no matter what the reason or excuse DONT count on the police out here !! They should be ashamed of how they protect fellow coppers !

February has been a very queer month for the US military.
Early this month, the Defense Department admitted (in a letter to the Senate Armed Services Committee) that its TALON (Threat and Local Observation Notice) surveillance program engaged in "inappropriate" domestic spying on anti-war groups. As NBC News reported late last year, military intelligence labeled UC Santa Cruz's Students Against War a "credible threat" after they shut-down a recruitment visit and returned a few months later to spy on a kiss-in against the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. Likewise, the FBI spied on a demonstration against military recruiters organized by NYU's OUTLaw. The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (along with the ACLU) has filed a lawsuit requesting more information on the program and its impact on LGBT organizations.
On February 14, a 12-member commission assembled by the University of California (which included Clinton's Defense Secretary William Perry and Reagan's Assistant Defense Secretary Lawrence Korb) concluded that the GAO has severely underestimated the cost of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The panel found that the total cost of implementing Don't Ask, Don't Tell (including discharging and replacing troops) during its first decade was $364 million, almost double the GAO figure of $190 million.
Among the revelations in the torture documents released by the ACLU on February 23, is the apparent use of gay porn as a torture tool in Guantanamo. In a series of e-mails, FBI agents working at Guantanamo complained about military interrogators' techniques to their supervisors. One e-mail notes that the Bureau and Army intelligence have "parted ways" and then reports:

(Yes, while sodomy is perfectly legal for civilians after Lawrence v. Texas, military appeals courts have upheld military sodomy laws). Four others were demoted and penalized for underage drinking, drunken driving and adultery.
This confluence of events presents the unlikely but completely plausible scenario in which 1) military boys star in gay porn which is 2) subsequently used by military interrogators in Guantanamo to torture prisoners in violation of international law then 3) these same military boys are prosecuted for acts which are perfectly legal under civilian law but remain punishable offenses under a silly and discriminatory set of military policies while 4) the torturers and their supervisors get off totally scot-free. Ain't that America.

City Stickers are Unconstitutional, they are basically a tax imposed by the City that wasn't ever voted upon by representatives of, or the voters of the City of Chicago. Thats why violations really aren't enforcable anywhere except via the Chicago Kangaroo Court. The Gestapo in action.. And, aren't the fees supposed to be for our fantastic city streets,and highways, that mysteriously fall apart about 5 times faster than streets and highways in climates more harsh than ours, with just as much vehicular traffic? ? Don't believe me, start out in Chicago, then head for Wisconsin, and farther north and west. The roads just get better as you leave, Chicago, Cook County, and the State of Illinois.
