A Posting of Interest

Interesting to us at least. From our buddies over at NYPD Rant, this gem:
  • The Newark Police Department has fired two officers and is considering the dismissal of two others for anonymous comments they posted on a popular Internet blog.

Officers Darious Smith and Yessenia Montalvo were terminated at the end of June after criticizing their superiors in messages posted on Newark Speaks, a blog widely read by public employees in Essex County.
Now, we aren't particularly worried for our own sakes. We can't say we've posted anything we're ashamed of. In fact, quite a bit of it is legitimate criticism protected by First Amendment, which happens to trump Department Rules and Regs, City Policy and all sorts of other nonsense. We've never used Department computers for any of our postings. The fact that the ACLU would leap in to represent us is irksome, but we could live with that. We could also live with the nice payday at the end.

That being said, we can't prove that anyone who posts here is a Chicago cop, let alone an Illinois resident. Check our site meter - we have visitors from all over the globe. That isn't to say that a determined hacker couldn't trace certain visits back to certain IP addresses that register to City Buildings and District stations. And the "keylogger" programs that run in the background of most Department computers can be a bother (do a file search on your Department workstations - they are there!) We mention this only as a warning to our more determined trolls that infest the board. Be careful.

Perhaps if their Superiors had any management skills, then they wouldn't have to read a damn blog to find out what what's going on with their people!

CPD, are you listening?

What a farce! Good point Leo
Off Topic

Now called the "Pence plan" and "a compromise" by some, this guest worker program exceeds even the Senate's guest worker plan because there are NO NUMERICAL LIMITS for at least three years. Everyone in the world, including illegal aliens in the United States, is invited to get a guest worker visa, called a "W" visa. Guest workers are immediately allowed to apply for a green card and as long as a guest worker's green card application is pending, his W visa is indefinitely renewable. Thus, this plan is nothing more than a back door amnesty.

The Pence plan is not about finding a legislative means to end our immigration crisis; it is about importing unlimited cheap labor and yet again compromising the future of the American worker. It is no wonder that President Bush and Vice President Cheney were willing to spend so much time learning about this plan. The plan is a gift to those in big business who are willing to sell out the American worker in order to profit off of cheap foreign labor.

President Bush might back the Pence plan in an attempt to push House members to compromise, but this is not what the American people want! The Pence plan is not a compromise—it is a back door amnesty. Please call Congressman Pence's office and ask him to kindly remove his name from the Krieble plan. Let him know that the solution Americans want is enforcement only and enforcement now!

It is comforting to know there seems to be an underlying crime-the drug/corruption case against one cop, and the witness threat. However, it will be more comforting when this issue has been aired out in court.

"We can't say we've posted anything we're ashamed of." I guess not! And First Amendment protects the spineless, sexist, racist 'retards'! "Messages" from around the globe? No! The globe can see the 'true' mentality of CPD...at least the 'White' perspective! WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT!

Since the fire in Area 4, (glad no one was hurt), the coppers from Filmore have been finding that Marquette is a pretty good place to work.

We still call the 10th District, Marquette, just as they the 11th District still calls themselves the "Filmore Rangers", and the 015 cops still refers to Austin. It's amatter of pride, and shows that you have been there for a while

Matter of pride? What is the cause of your pride. Run away out of control crime, losing the streets to the thugs, a dime bag pinch, screwing up crime scenes, not knowing how to operate as a team, ducking early. You should take the name changes and start over. Maybe people will forget your failures.

Tenga cuidado.
