RIP Oriana Fallaci

Yes, this is a police blog, first and foremost. Yes, we cover local political issues more often than not. But when we started this thing, one of our promotions was titled "A Healthy Interest in the World at Large." This falls under "world at large," so bear with us. We thought Rue St. Michel would cover this, and he still might. In the meantime, here's our take.
Oriana Fallaci was a Leftist we could respect, unlike so many of the visitors to this website and infesting the political landscape at large. She and her family actually fought the fascists in World War II and guided Allied soldiers to safety, always under the threat of torture and execution. She transported messages and explosives for the Italian resistance and became a well known journalist from the 60's thru the 80's. And she was unafraid to stay the course of legitimate Leftist philosophy, even as the left moved into the fever swamps of appeasement, socialism and capitulation. And those on the left never forgave her.
Following the attacks of September 11th, she became a fierce critic of militant islam and was roundly condemned by her former leftist allies across Europe. At the time of her death, she was under charges in the Italian courts for daring to say Europe was turning into "Eurabia" and facing long prison time:

- Fallaci sees the threat of Islamic fundamentalism as a revival of the Fascism that she and her sisters grew up fighting. She told me, "I am convinced that the situation is politically substantially the same as in 1938, with the pact in Munich, when England and France did not understand a thing. With the Muslims, we have done the same thing."
- She saw radical Islam--and argued there is no such thing as moderate Islam--as the new brand of Nazi Fascism, "SS and Black Shirts who wave the Koran." In the book that emerged, "The Rage and the Pride," she railed against Islamic terrorists and fundamentalism.
Everyone on the left catch that? A woman who lived through facism and fought against it on the front lines, saw parallels in today's world and saw as clear as day which side was the correct one - and it wasn't the appeasers and leftists and democrats of the world.

Wow. You mean there is actually someone from the left that actually understands that Islam is a cancer that must be eradicated? Someone that understands that these Islamosfacists will not stop until they rule the world? Till every single person on this planet is a muslim? Are you serious? I wonder why I've never seen her on television or in the newpaper? I have actually but her Leftist friends sure limited her exposure. I guess it's not part of the Lefts agenda to tell the truth.
Islamic countries are facists... always have been...we Americans are now the Jews of Nazi Germany....do not doubt for one minute that they would love to see you dead...........there is no in between.....you are the enemy....

She reminds me a bit of Charlton Heston. Yes,he was considered a lefty in his day. He was one of the first powerblock white actors to come out say he didnt agree w/the way Blacks were treated in this country.So he marched w/M.L.King; I know so because I saw it on the History channel. But u dont hear today's left say anything about that.They're not taking any chances nowadays when they take a lefty stance, because its cool. Heston stuck his neck out when it was dangerous; he had balls, he was a true reformer. As I recall (and correct me SCC if Im wrong)he became an enemy of the left when he took on that fat slob Asner over control of the screen actors guild. I remember that slob sending money to the commy fighters in Central America. He became a bigger enemy when he became the NRA president.Heston took on that calling because he understood the disarming of law abiding citizens is bad, and good for criminals. Again, he stuck his neck out when it wasnt cool.Yea, u lefty pieces of sh*t, this was somebody I could look up to; u can f*ck the Police now w/your media heat,beefs & lawsuits because its normal now. In the 1950's u would have disappeared. Just wait till after the next big attack where there's a big breakdown of the government; and there'll be 2 types of people, those w/big guns and those without. U back-stabbing leftys will get everything u have coming.
We(L.E.)have to get this gun-grabbing commie out of the guv. mansion. He's trashing our pensions (have uz read how the State P.O.s hate his guts?), and he's a typical Machine guy.But he's even more dangerous, he even turned on his DadinLaw.And these were the guys who put him up there.Remember mell's press cons.(I heard the "outfit" told him to knock it off, too much exposure)
Judy B. has to get her thing going.The media is doing the typical Machine stuff by saying she's going to lose in a landslide. She's common sense on guns, has a Son that fought in combat; she can beat this connected prick. Maybe, SCC, there's some way the rank&file can endorse her against the union's will.
