Another Mentally Disturbed Slasher
- Chicago Police issued a community alert Saturday for a man suspected in four knife attacks in the Edgewater neighborhood.
Three men and one woman were attacked. All four were walking alone. The most seriously injured victim was hospitalized overnight. The rest suffered minor cuts.
Police said the attacks were at 1200 N. Victoria, 5800 N. Hermitage, 1300 W. Catalpa and 1500 W. Edgewater within the last few days. The latest was at 8 a.m. Saturday.
The assailant is described as a Hispanic man, 23 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches, weighing 140 to 150 pounds. He has dark brown eyes and a light complexion and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and black jeans.

In the old days, Lt. (now Captain) JF would be out walking around the neighborhood all night, perhaps with Sgt. (now retired) DS walking somewhere else and a couple of other teams nearby to pick up the pieces afterwards. Hopefully, that's happening now, too.

Sgt DS wouldn't be walking around. He'd be driving around with a pack of smokes and a pizza.

IM sure LT O'b is right on top of messing the whole thing up. I feel sorry for the poor copper that gets the paper job when this perp is caught. Especially if Lt O'b is the W/C. Hopefully he will get stuck in the sally port again.

EXACTLY. THAT WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD ... EDGEWATER, UPTOWN, ROGERS PARK ... TRULY THE ASSHOLE OF THE CITY. I DROVE DOWN BROADWAY BY WILSON AND I SAW HARVEY KEITEL WEARING A DAGO-T. THEN I TURNED AND SAW ROBERT DENIRO DRIVING A TAXI. WHY IN THE FUCK HAS UPTOWN NOT ADVANCED AT ALL SINCE THE 1970'S? WHO THE FUCK IS THE ALDERMAN OF THAT COMPLETE FUCKING SHITHOLE? Funny, when this all unfolded you would think they'd beef up the patrol in the area, but then again, as posted earlier, policing in 20 is nonexistant. Kudos to the alert passerby who probably followed the asshole and gave a good description until the cops got there. Too bad someone didn't put a bullet in his head first. And to the previous post about tac/gang being pulled from the district to work the ghetto .... you're totally right! I love how they pull manpower away from other districts to attempt to clean up the ghetto. The only way they can clean it up is by dropping an A-bomb on it. Only after all the police have been evacuated first, of course. I forgot-- who are they gonna get to clean up all the cans of steele reserve, colt 45, and hair weave left behind?
Another interesting note about 20th dist... after shots were fired in clarendon park and gangbangers were running everywhere (including over the border into 20), a group of gangbangers were stopped by 023 dist. officers on the 20th district's side. When the two-man unit called for back-up (they had six on the hood), 3 supervisors and ONE blue shirt from 20(who happened to be 99) showed up! Un-fucking real... where are your officers up there??? I know they have a brand new station up there but come on -- you've gotta break it in sometime!!!

A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I WAS WORKING CTA SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT AND I LOCKED UP SOME DRUNKEN GOOF WHO WAS CAUSING A DISTURBANCE ON THE CTA BUS. WELL ANYWAY. THE CTA BUS WAS THANKFUL AND CTA SIGNED COMPLANTS. WELL WHEN WE GOT TO 20 TO PROCESS THE ARRESTEE MY PARTNER AND MYSELF WEERE GIVEN NOTHING SHOT THAN HEADACHE. THEY ACTED LIKE WE WERE BOTHERING THESE LAZY ASSESS AND WANTED TO KNOW WHY I DID NOT ISSUE AN ANOVE. I TOLD THE ONE JAGOFF WORKING THE DESK THAT IT WAS MY DECISION TO LOCK HIS ASSD UP AND THAT I FELT THE IDIOT WOULD PROBALLY GET ON ANOTHER BUS AND CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS.
