Why is Carol Marin, police hater and Daley apologist, always invited back to host the Police Recognition Ceremony? Is it because she's buddies with Ron Magers? We can't recall Magers ever deliberately skewing coverage to put the Department in a bad light, but Marin does it on a regular basis - more so since she was given a column in the Sun Times with which to continue her moribund media career. Explanations?

Marin does a good job at OUR Annual ceremony.
I've also seen her in person do great things, one-on-one for 'some' of our people, again a noble act.
But she's not there when there's a grey area [when needed the most] and that's what seperates us, I'm sure.
For all she has done, "I" say, 'Thank You Carol, but be there for us not only when the bad guy is shooting at us, but when WE have to shoot back!'

Carol gets tough on people like 70 year olds Chris and Mary Fogarty ( whom Carol Marin made her NBC network bones on back in the 90's by telling America that a Winnetka couple were murdered by these two dangerous IRA hitmen - destroyed their lives by the way Carol - no biggie!)
Or Lura Lynn Ryan, wife of George, because Carol did not like her seventy year old make-up and her husband was staring at hard time and she wanted to help him - imagine? -. Pick them targets girl-friend!
And, while you cops are 'bound and gagged' and getting the House of Screams treatment every waking moment by the media, gutless politicians, tweed wearing Commies with trust funds, Carol can open up daily cans of WHUP-ASS and help undermine confidence in law enforcement.

Bring up the treatment of Mary and Chris Fogarty ( by the way the couple were murdered by their neighbor's kid with an FBI agent's lost service revolver - how about that?) to Ms. Skunk-Streak Hair - fair-is fair Carol you opened the door with your treatment of Mrs. Ryan -and watch that botox smile get all pruney. She'll go all Jerry Springer on you!
I do not see any bias in Carol Marin's stories.
The sad story is we do stupid things that attract unkind media coverage and when the media discovers same and report same we act like we are grievously injured.
If we acted like responsible adults then we would be immune to criticizm.
Speaking of police haters why has Mary Mitchell on 2 consecutive days ben writting about Det.Bob Smith and an incident he had with a little mongrel, could it be damage control from the Beverly Park incident last year?....I'm sure more to come?
Fuck Mary Mitchell. She added a few more lines to yesterdays article and called it a new one. Calling people unfit to be the police for not letting his children be bullied by these animals. Ron Majors is a decent guy, not a police hater. He doesn't really like to do negative stories about the police. He knows really what kind of shit with deal with everyday.

I watched Chan 7 News the evening of the Sunday St Jude March.
I may be wrong but I did not see or hear any comment about the Police Maech for Fallen POs.
Again, I may be wrong but did anyone else see the film or hear coverage on the 10:00 news?

So much for the first time the march went to the PO memorial, changed routes, and represented itself in an honorable setting.

How many times ,as police, have we told parents not to get involved in thier children fights? This off duty det. went to scene after his kid got home and told him what happened. The logical thing to do was to call 911 and have a beat car respond. Had this det. kept a cool head, the little offendder would have been taken care of and nothing would have made the paper.
We are held to a higher standard. We may feel that that is not fair however,that is the way it is ! Police officers need to use the same advice we give to the general public when we are involved in such incedents
