What the Hell?
- A proposal to give Illinois driving privileges to undocumented immigrants drew heated debate Monday night at a public hearing in Carpentersville.
The crowd of 60 people mostly opposed the bill that has passed the Illinois House and moved to the Senate.
The legislation would make undocumented drivers eligible for a driving certificate and insurance.
Good for Carpentersville. Way to stay involved. Now the worrying part:
- Earlier Monday immigration rights activists in Chicago made passage of the bill a high priority. They unveiled stacks of new voter registration papers to show politicians they can wield their power at the polls.
Um, we're pretty sure illegals can't vote. And did anyone actually check these "stacks of new voter registration papers" to see if they were filled out legally by persons eligible to vote? Or is this another one of those stunts where "activists" bring in a stack of paper with no actually information on them or filled out fraudulently in an effort to intimidate politicians? How about this follow up from Newsradio 780:
- Chicago immigrant rights groups have a warning for republicans - and one republican in particular: support a special driver's certificate for undocumented immigrants -- or else Latinos won't vote for your candidates.
- Radogno had voted for the concept of a special driver's certificate for undocumented immigrants.
- But then, she says, her constituents sounded off against it and therefore she changed her mind.
Immigrant activists (or defenders of illegal aliens) are in the midst of a massive backlash against their efforts and they're just a little bit too shortsighted to see it. We're betting on a few more rude surprises in the coming months.

How many coppers have been killed in the line of duty, i.e. responding to a call, or to assist another car, by an illegal driving drunk?
I was lucky enough to get a lunch tonight, and caught the story on fox news.

another positive would be they would be made to pay for insurance and if they are in an accident at least the other party, if the victim, would get their car fixed and injuries covered.
I say go ahead give them a driving certificate, so what at least they would be driving with insurance and have to go to driving school or at least pass a test to get the certificate.
this action would not grant anyone amnesty or legal status, but it would cover us drivers that have to have a license and insurance.
Amazing the bullshit the politicians in Illinois can vote on and pass down in Springfield but still for several years they refuse to approve a raise for disabled police officers. Thanks to the State of Illinois the FOP and the PBPA for not giving a shit about disabled police officers. Good luck to my fellow p.o.'s stay safe and healthy because nobody gives a shit about you when you end up on disability. Not even a spot for the disabled in the St. Judes march.

Does anyone really believe that the passage of this law will change the attitude of illegals in purchasing auto insurance? When is this country going to wake up? Seems we didn't learn our lesson from 9-11.

Unfortunately for United States Citizens, voter registration is offerred to ANY ILLEGAL ALIEN and ANY DOCUMENTED Foreigner upon getting a State ID, or a drivers license in Illinois.
So, Illegal Aliens and other NON CITIZENS are VOTING in elections in this country (definitely in this state) otherwise, there is NO WAY the filthy politicians (especially in Illinois) would be voting to give them ALL OF OUR RESOURCES, paid for by middle class CITIZENS of this country- meaning YOU AND ME!
Before you know it, we won't be able to get any medical care, all the free insurance and medicare will be eaten up by illegal aliens, who will drain social security and will be electing the people who supposedly represent US into office.... We are doomed if it doesn't stop.
First, as we all know, you do nopt need a driver's license to purchase a vehicle or to purchase insurance. So that issue is moot. Next, everyone, including those oily mouthed strumpets- er I mean politicians, shopuld remember that driving is a priviledge, not a right.
Next, the test should only be in English and if you do not read or write English- guess what- you do not drive. It is time to stop pandering to these foreigners and start giving thought to citizens and our right to safety.

Ever notice since they now allow you to take the driving test in any language the drivers now really suck. Oh by the way, parallel parking has been taken out of the road test.

Giving ILLEGALS "anything" let alone a drivers license is completely insane and ridiculous. The only reason there is a push for them to get a drives license is it makes it easier for them to get more free shit, it will make it harder for them to be deported and their weekends arent interupted by all the traffic arrests in which they never show up to court anyway. Warrants are useless as they give police 65,000 different aliases.
Where do our legislaters (the people who represent us "actual citizens of the United States of America") get off giving rights and priveleges to people who don't belong here in the first place and are breaking the law on top of it!
INSURANCE... are you kidding me, they still wont buy insurance and even if they did, they aren't arent going to stop when they hit you. I dont know about the rest of you, but I am all for LEGAL immigration. Let's say that a foreigner, a legit business person comes to the U.S. and need to drive.
In Illinois, for the first ninety days, their home country license is good with a recognized International Driver's License.
After that, what?
Few would argue that some type of license, and insurance for the visiting PhD. Professor would be good thing. So why not the landscaper or (fill in the blank)?
Some states, who have part-time "snowbird" residents, Florida for example, issues licenses that are valid in that state only. I don't like the idea of illegals driving, but if I get hit, I'd rather they have a license and insurance.

I would be very in favor of a law, that that anyone involved in the retail sale of motor vehicles, be required to see that the buyer was licensed and insured before they drive off the lot.

Any person without a license can get car insurance. In your liberal mind, is a driving certificate going to make someone pay for it? Do a street stop on any illegal on a Friday or Saturday night around the hispanic bars. They all have at least a grand in cash, a mexican I.D., and a bag of coke in their pocket. Mexicans in Mexico do not purchase auto insurance, what makes anyone believe they will up here. You as a visitor to mexico, if you are driving over the border have to present a certificate of mexican auto insurance at the border and to any and all law enforcement officers upon request. If you fail to have mexican auto insurance you are jailed immediately. If you rent a car in mexico you are required to purchase at about twenty five dollars per day, mexican auto insurance. To bad we are not as strict about auto insurance as the mexican goverment officials are.
