Another Beating?
But this time, Cook County starting the incident and CPD allegedly joining in:
- Chicago photographer Dolores Robare claims she was beaten by two Chicago police officers and two Cook County Sheriff's deputies last August. Monday, she announced she is filing a civil lawsuit against the officers.
- The alleged beating took place on the city's North Side. Robare's attorney claims the pictures tell the story. Her bruised and swollen face reveal the affects of what she claims is a case of police brutality.
- Lawyer Lawrence Jackowiak says ... says the lawsuit is being filed eight months after the incident, because it took a long time to learn the names of the officers, not because he is trying to take advantage of public opinion following the two high-profile bar beating cases involving police officers in Chicago.
We'll call BS on the last statement - the publicity is EXACTLY why they're coming forward now. It's too bad that Cook County couldn't be bothered to complete some sort of arrest report for this incident and they're going to end up sticking some CPD people in a barrel over this. Watch yourselves on the scenes of some other Department's incidents people. Don't get stuck in the middle.

this attorney's sole practice is suing the city. he asks for an outrageous amount and usually takes what the city gives him without ever going to trial. because at a trial the evidence would almost always not support his claims. this would be a good topic for a real investigative reporter. see who these attorneys are that are like parasites feeding off the host and expose them. maybe even run a sting and see how bad this racket really stinks.
wouldn't they be able to file the lawsuit using "john doe 1" etc. until they found out the names of the officers involved and then amend the complaint at that later date? poor excuse on the lawyer's part.

Don't trust those plain clothes county units. Ever see some of those guys, Dreadlocks, hiphop clothes and fubu 05 coats. Leave them be, don't back them up. to be honest, the county guys are generally a bunch of goofs, and to tell u the truth i was a sheriff before coming to cpd and had no idea about the law, thank God i was able to get out, alot of the guys there are hooked up, (both politically and the gangs) so be careful when responding to an off duty or on duty ccsp assist

The problem with the Sherrifs is they are always out to prove they actually are the Police, even "the real police".
I'm so glad I dont work mids anymore because I got tired of dealing with drunken young police with a chip on their shoulder.
Were about one step above dog catchers in this city so get used to it and you'll lead a happy and trouble free life.
These beefs never seem to happen with incidents that actually matter. Its always over bullshit.
