Officer Safety Alert
- Chicago police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that left two brothers wounded and caused the car they were riding in to crash into a South Side bus stop.
According to witnesses, the brothers were riding in a black car and the shooter was riding in a white car near the intersection of
Shots rang out and soon after the victim's car crashed into the CTA bus stop at the corner of the intersection causing it to shatter, according to police.
That is the website report. The actual report on the radio noted that bullets found on the scene by police were of the type that can penetrate 40 layers of Kevlar. We have no way of knowing who may have leaked this to the media or if it is true or not, but we know what we heard over the air and the radio reporter mentioned the body armor defeating round. It might turn out to be complete BS, but it's better to be aware that these things are out there. Be careful.

Yes...the FN 5-7, as it is called, can peniterate most body armor.
So can most any rifle round.
The ammuniyion for the 5-7 is expensive, so don't expect to see it too offten.

Armor piercing info was put out over the zone as officer safety flash, from a field unit, who was on the scene with the shell casings.
Obviously the news reporters cannot get good stories with investigative talent and research but like a lazy dog just sit there and listen to the police scanner.

Out the door, the gun costs about $900.00. There are I believe 5 different rounds that you can buy for it. Comes with 2-20 round clips. At that price, I don't think the shooter will be worried about the cost of ammo.
