This is a Bad Thing?
- At a meeting with legislative leaders late Tuesday, Gov. Blagojevich warned that unless a budget deal is reached, state government could shut down next month.
- CTA customers worried about possible service cuts and fare increases are getting a chance to tell the CTA board what they think. The first of four public hearings was held Tuesday night to talk about the so-called doomsday scenario. The CTA has threatened to make those changes if the agency doesn't get the state funding it requested.
Will the Golden Boy end up taking a beating in public for the mayor? Because, after all, the mayor is the one pulling the strings in Springfield - his Machine.

Of coarse they want to cut bus service from Garfield Ridge, such as the Narragansett and Austin routes that go directly to the Orange line. My wife and many,many other people depend on these routes. Fuck the taxpayers as usual, and I'm sure they are going to do the same thing for you north side people as well. Fuck the highest paying areas of the city first, give EVERYTHING to THEM, you know, the non-tax paying "what can I git fo free" peoples. And I have ten more years? WOW!I really hope it's bullshit.

True ed burke though I heard is fighting to keep his huge detail! Why does he have 2 guys at all times would'nt 1 driver be enough for his highness! He has millions in his campaign fund come on ed spend it and hire off duty at YOUR expense please! must be nice D-3 pay plus all that unlimited overtime WORK ONY 2 DAYS ON 3 DAYS OFF WHAT A SCHEDULE IS THAT EVEN 10 DAYS A MONTH?

Screw the Mayor and his cronies. In the end, karma will eventually come biting him back big time.
There are other ways to increase CTA revenue without escalating fares. Only this city doesn't know how to do it because they are completely seperated from reality.
SCC, here's a list of the proposed cuts. The southside has shitty service as it is, so these cuts will make it cirtually impossible to get around. That means people will lose their jobs, etc.

daley allowed his buddy michael marchese to buy lots of prime cta property and lots for $1.00 thats right one dollar why? Do you think the daley family raked in huge payoffs? Maybe he could offer his drivers to drive the busses on their many days off? or daley could pick up people in his stretched lincoln town car and with all the cars and van that accomapny his family at our expense he could start his own bus line call it "the criminal line."
I'm all for closing a bunch of routes. Anybody remember how thefts went up like crazy after they opened the Ohare Blue Line. It may be easier for loved ones to get to work, but it's also easier for the crack head to go steal a bike from your neighbors garage and then burglarize your home and carry away the proceeds in a pillow case on the bike they took. Maybe if they eliminate some of these routes, crime will be reduced. Then all you do is assign a district car to enforce traffic on escape routes and lock up the bad guy when you stop him for fictious license plates. Maybe all those seat belt and saftey checked would pay off.

They should both take public trans then they could see how bad it is! But then how do there drivers take them golfing? can you reach the course on a bus? Or how about dinner and drinks? How about they drive and show everyone else how to conserve resources!
