This Could Be Interesting

  • There could be a lot of empty desks of Cook County prosecutors Tuesday. Hundreds of the attorneys planned a sick-out protesting a proposed pay freeze. Hundreds of the nearly 900 Cook County prosecutors could call in sick Tuesday. Instead of going to work, they will go to the Cook County Board meeting. They say it is a show of solidarity against a planned pay freeze.

The states attorneys' office has already absorbed large budget cuts and massive layoffs. Meantime, they say they were promised cost of living pay raises, which they are still waiting on. Their counterparts in the public defender's office already got them, so they plan to protest directly to the county board Tuesday.

Maybe if they disbanded Felony Review and all the useless baggage that goes with it, there'd be money for all sorts of extravagant raises.

Simple Smiley, the Board President, spent all the available cash hiring the 21 relatives he has on the county payroll.

Those assault weapons are NOT needed. They are just for boys who lack manhood. These guys with the assault weapons usually have camo clothes, and drive motorcycles. These guys got to have these to be tough. A punk with a gun is still a punk.....

OFF TOPIC: What the hell is so difficult about putting you address on the front of your building and maybe even on the back?

Every copper on the west and south sides plays the same stupid game 10 times a day. You pull up and spend 5 minutes looking for the right house because the morons who called the police never figured out its probably a good idea for your house to be properly marked so the cops and fire dept. can find yous when u call.

There should be a fine for the owner of any building that doesn't have it's address posted, front and back.

Funny but true, The D-unit is seeing more& more shit paper and the W/Cs approve arrests because if
they question the braintrust who has no concept of probable cause he runs from the office crying to Daddy the Boss who tears the WC a new one with the tacit approval of the DC& The Area Deputy.

THAT'S IS THE CPD OF THE 21ST CENTURY CATERING TO 1/2 WITS WHO HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING THE POLICE.

If they were competent attorneys they would be making at least six figures at a law firm. Not worrying about a 3% raise at their 40,000 a year political hack job.

Amen Brother!!!
Maybe felony review is there to keep you from stepping on your dick in court. Maybe you write shit paper, but they don't want to tell you that to keep you from perjuring yourself (Hint: ask somebody with some experience before you call felony review).
P.S. I am not an ASA, but a working copper.

Ease up on the ASA's. They get paid less than Public Defenders. Is that fair? Every criminal case gets handled by the ASA's, not so for the Public Defenders because some defendants use private attorneys. They have a bigger case load than PD's but get paid less. The Cook County Board allowed the PD's to unionize, but won't allow the ASA's to do so. They have a right to be angry.
