Oh, That Southtown Thing...
Those who missed it or couldn't get the link, here you are.
And now for our reply.
Mr. Janssen, the reporter who penned the story, seems a decent enough fellow, aside from being a member of the media. We communicated via e-mail and struck up a wary rapport. He confessed to being way left of our politics, but much of his writing seemed to make the effort to be fair. His questions were thought provoking to us and we replied over the course of a week. We felt the final piece was a bit choppy, but given the medium of our conversation, that isn't surprising.
We'll take issue with the following parts of the story though:
And now for our reply.
Mr. Janssen, the reporter who penned the story, seems a decent enough fellow, aside from being a member of the media. We communicated via e-mail and struck up a wary rapport. He confessed to being way left of our politics, but much of his writing seemed to make the effort to be fair. His questions were thought provoking to us and we replied over the course of a week. We felt the final piece was a bit choppy, but given the medium of our conversation, that isn't surprising.
We'll take issue with the following parts of the story though:
- We don't eat doughnuts with anything near "regularly" - that seemed a little too cutely stereotypical.
- We should have guessed someone would try to dissect us with a computer program. We'll continue to not admit to being male or female; white, black, brown or other; multiple persons or multiple personalities
- Though we'd like to take credit for the "Mope-rah" label affixed to Mary Mitchell, it was a reader of ours who came up with it - we just gave it front page play. And let's face it, if the shoe fits...she kind of earns it every time she writes
- We're not sure we hate all the people he lists - but we do have a total and complete lack of respect for many of them. Most of them we wouldn't compare to prostitutes as that would be an insult to the girls who actually work for a living. But hate?
- He missed our Blackhawks infatuation, but the less said about that, the better
- The Hampton sign issue, Mr. Janssen credits us with mobilizing officers and the national press into covering the issue. In our letter, we called it a group effort that we played a role in - we had a blog to use; we made contact with NYPD Rant and did a number of combined posts; John Northern and a number of others were very active on the site keeping everyone abreast of developments. We don't want anyone thinking we took undue credit for getting the issue killed in committee. Lots of people helped and we said so
- The descriptions of some of our fellow bloggers as "less successful imitators" is his wording, not ours. We know how much effort it takes to put this together and it's only a hobby for us. We wouldn't presume to know what other people have going on in their lives that might preclude them from being as prolific as we are lucky enough to be.
We're still laughing at how he smacked the "official" boys around. According to Mr. Janssen, he contacted Pat Camden for an on-the-record comment and Pat got a bit huffy and hung up on him.
And Seiser still runs it. He runs it all.

Yea, make fun of me because I work out and have a totally hot body, I went to college and earned degrees. And I do have several California production companies eyeing my two movie scripts. Maybe I like to talk to myself because so many of you people DON'T HAVE A CLUE! I didn't receive all my awards, medals and letters of compliment by writing scripts, they came from POLICE WORK!
Wish I could spend more time responding to the posts but I have several mulitple clear up reports to do, felont review to call (just a formality, they approve all my jobs) amd then some hot dinner with my lucky lady!
PS When my movies hit the big screen, don't be asking for free tickets.

Good Luck SCC, will not be long before the mayor has a hit squad out for you. As to all the posters now that the blog has made it to the mainstream papers a little restraint when posting might be in order. Stay Safe all.
Wow! I can say that I knew SCC when he was NOBODY (well he was always SOMEBODY, but now the media-creatures have stamped him with the label of authenticity...)
Also, it's in the mainstream media that SCC is "the official" blog of the Chicago Police Department.
I could have told you that! As always, good job with the blog and furor scribendi!
This is the only place (in Chicago)where cops can have their voices heard, retirees can stay in touch, families of the fallen can be involved and civilians support our CPD & community.
True Leadership welcomes input from their people on the front line.
Even the officer down people established policelink.com for officers, and various departments WELCOME communication, report crime online, etc from civilians as well as let their cops speak...
story on channel 5 says 4 male black youths were on there way home from a club in gary indiana when the driver lost control of his car and crashed in a ditch. the police and ambulances arrive on the scene. they only see two people in the car and in the immediate area. both of these youths were taken from the scene and transported to the local hospital for treatment.
now the story takes a twist that we've seen all to often. the parents and friends of all the occupants are BLAMING THE POLICE for the death of the two that were allegedly thrown a good distance out of the vehicle during the accident and who's bodies weren't discovered until family members conducted an extensive search for them at the crash site.
Unfucking believable. Blame the police for everyfuckingthing.
hmm, lets see. four youths coming home from a club. hmmm, any alcohol or drugs involved by chance. crashing their car with no other car involved. hmm, driving reckless maybe or were they being chased or did they just commit a crime. hmmm, 2 of the 4 ejected from the car so far away that not one rescuer saw them. so they weren't wearing their seat belts and the speed they were traveling caused the bodies to fly hundreds of feet away.
the news media just ate it up, interviewing all these grieving people all blaming the police....
By Kim Janssen , Staff writer
Kim is a guy? Who'd a thunk.
I think the article was great. Was it really on the front page? Maybe someone will learn a little more TRUTH about the CPD.
Hum I hope y know what your doing.
I think Kim did a good write up about your site.
"The media doesn't understand what it's like to drive down dark alleys, to run towards the sound of gunfire, to chase someone over fences and have to tackle and fight someone into handcuffs, or respond to your fifth domestic disturbance call of the night and see the same dysfunctional pattern repeated all over again, or respond to a 'man shot' call and see blood and brains spilled all over the sidewalk, and if you're really quick to the scene, listen to the victim's last screams, moans or gurgles."
---------------------------------
This deserves another pass around. Any officer with some time on in a busy district has experienced these things more than a few times. Get out of my head SCC!
Sad part that was not commented about, the rampant crime that is affecting the entire city. Most people are blind to it for they are in their homes, watching their big screens believing the bull-shit the media and politicians feed them. There is not a safe neighborhood in this city. Anything can happen, anywhere at any time, especially after sundown in this shit hole city called Daleyville. Well, maybe not on Da Mayors block.
Scc I must say I laughed several time reading the article and your response. I must also say kudos for Kim Jansen for attempting to write an article based on information she put effort into confirming instead of running with whatever! But I must say M@^#%er F@^#ER, Pat Camden you had the nerve To Comment about a Blog or endorse a comment about a blog! WTF are you kidding, stick up for us hard working officers when the media runs us through the mud. If you want to make comments make them then. Oh Media boy try getting your facts straight before you talk you and Monique! Contact Cards are like warning tickets GTF out of here. Thanks Scc for all the hard work!
Just keep doing what you do SCC. Please
I take great issue with this sentence from Ms. Janssen's article:
He has a dark, sarcastic sense of humor, often mocking the victims of police shootings as "altar boys"
Umm, excuse me? 'Victims' of police shootings? Wrong. The police don't shoot 'victims', we shoot 'offenders'
Asked about the accusations of racism that plague his blog, and the department in general, he counters, "There was a quote we read in a book, that coppers worldwide have an intense dislike for the poorest segment of society they serve.
"The example given was a Chicago cop bitching about African-Americans to an NYPD guy, who then had to top him with, "You think that's bad? Let me tell you about the Puerto Ricans in New York!"
"Are there racists? Sure, they're everywhere, even in the media, but there are 25 districts and dozens of units where people can try to get if they don't want to deal with what they don't like."
So here is finally an admonition of an "expectable" level of racism mixed with sarcasm.
I love it ! Keep it coming :)
Not really sure about the racism comments part in the column. I think most of us are equal opportunity haters. A jag off is a jag off mentality. I have worked around the city and bounced around with different partners and I have never seen the type of so called "racism" they are writing about in this column. Yeah some people might have jabber jaws of so called "racist comments" while in the squad car or typing on this blog but I can tell you first hand that no one I have ever worked with provided less of a police service to actual victims or citizens because of the color of their skin or were the lived. If some gangbanger jag off who I know terrorizes his neighborhood comes crying to me because another group of gangbangers kicked his ass, you'll have to excuse me if I don't shed a tear. On the other hand if a citizen is in need of help I can say with pride that every copper in this city would bend over backwards to help.
How much time did Kim put into that article ? SCC ROCKS ! I can only hope that this Blog goes on forever. I hope that Moprah reads it and learns from it. God Bless SCC and the CPD .
I am a businessman who lives and has an office in the Morgan Park Police District. I read the Southtown and then pulled up your blog site. After spending several hours reading over current and past posts, I have lost all respect for Chicago Law Enforcement Officers. The vulgar, crass, inconsiderate and condescending tone you take towards anyone who is not a police officer is offensive and insulting. You've shown in your posts that you can lie and cheat as well as any crook. Over the years, I have supported police causes without question, giving hundreds of dollars to John Knight outings, money to the memorial fund, and whatever other fundraiser was held at Bourbon Street regarding a sick or injured officer, I supported through donations. As a member of the 100 Club, I've back and supported Police Officers for the last 35 yrs. Never again will I give a dime to any cause backed or sanctioned by the Chicago Police Officers...
You, as an anonymous group, are an insult to this great City. Oh, now be sure and bash me with how your going to write me tickets and all those idle threats. You've lost a friend and a supporter. I intend to past this website on to all my business associates and friends who also support police causes and let them see what ignorant, uneducated pompous fools you really are...
Great job SCC the article from a media stand point looked ok! At least they did not butcher you! Keep up the great job, and yes SCC IS THE VOICE OF THE TRUE WORKING POLICE NOT THE BALLESS BRASS CLOUT BABIES!
Just tell Kim all police are racists. Ask him if he knows the race we hate the most? HUMAN!
I agree with teh guy talking about restarint now that it is mainstream. You babies always ratting out minor infractions wether uniform or time off, shut up and go away. Go back to college were you can act a fool. remember if you cant testify to it in court dont say it.
A couple of things. Gary FIRE DEPT. was never even notified about the crash. Maybe THEY would have shown up with additional lighting, etc. and would have located the two ejected males. Most likely, the two who died would not have survived the crash and ejection.
But I don't think any copper here would want to return to a scene of a crash 6 hrs. after the fact and find their kid wrapped around a tree. I think anyone here would be outraged by that, and should be.
Clearly, Gary PD didn't look too hard around the crash sight, and didn't call in any additional resources to find any other potential victims around the scene.
I don't think any reasonable people here could come to any other conclusion. Gary PD, by maintaining a "no comment" stance,
has pretty much admitted that with their silence regarding this incident. Second, It's quite apparent SCC that you (whether a single you or a plural YOU) are not a minority, nor do you have any minorities or women who sift through the comments before they are eventually posted here. If you did, a lot of the racist and sexist garbage that regularly sifts through your self imposed "filter" would never make it to print.
11:24 PM,I also saw the story on the news. Lets see a accident occurred, police are first responders. They request fire and EMS, so that means fire is responsible for the resue and ems is responsible to render medical aide. All of these people on the scene and none of them saw the other two passenger of the vehicle lying on the ground or just ignored them. One of the passenger claims he told the police that he had two other friends and was ignored. I call BULLSHIT! Basic questions that both police ,fire , and emt ask are were you wearing your seatbelt, lose conteousness, how many people in the car, take any medication, etc...
I find it hard to believe with all these emegency personnel on the scene no one saw these two subjects or ignored them and left them on the scene. What I dont find hard to believe is that with all these different emergency personnel on the scene, the one that is getting blamed for the subjects not being found is the regular suspect THE POLICE.
SCC, keep it up!!! We love you!!!
All hail Seiser!!!!!!!
to all the people that now know about this site, understand that many of us are salty because of the way we are portrayed by the media and treated by higher ups in this city. 99.9% of us do our job right on a daily basis, some of us don't. We are way understaffed and if you really want to know how many REAL coppers feel about things, continue to read this blog. Some things are overly whined about, but for the most part the REAL TRUTH comes out on here. which is exactly why the city doesnt like it
Stay safe out there guys and girls, its unfortunate but it truly is US vs Them. The media has portrayed us in such a negative way that we only have each other to rely on. Continue to do a great job and the working class people of this city that deserve police service will respect you and the rest of us for what we do. But, we will NEVER change the mentality of the non working, ghetto thugs especially if the media continues to put their cameras on these animals
Congrats to u SCC on the SOUTHTOWN gig; I'll bet the cockroaches u put
the lite on are running for a dark crevice.
And a hats off to the GALLOWS crew
(RET) who got a salute in the article.........
About the accident in Gary;the occupants of the vehicle were going home from a "CD release party" at a club..I think that about say's it all!
The article I read quotes a fire department official as saying that the ambulance picked up the two survivors at a street corner 4 blks from the crash scene, and never went to the scene.(?)
The actions of the 2 victims tells me that they probably ran like hell from the scene(maybe to destroy evidence, or dispose of contraband) and later in the hospital had some remorse and told their family that "we tried to help mookie and junebug, but the police wouldn't listen to us." (I've witnessed it plenty in my career)
Now they are just plain making up shit so the family can claim negligence and get a big payout..Give me a break, the police aren't omnipotent mindreaders, that see, and know everything beforehand. Yet shithead and their lawyers always have hindsight on their side!
Here's a thought..Teach johnny to drive better so he don't run off straight roadways!
Off topic, but the police department & especially the 022nd district lost a great man yesterday. Officer Paul Clisham lost his years long battle to cancer. To those of us who watched Paulie show up to work day in & day out throughout his ordeal, we will NEVER forget the inspiration and courageousness he showed. Paul was a fine officer, a wonderful man and a great friend. Paulie, only 37 years old, leaves behind a wife and a young daughter, as well as having 2 brothers on the job along with a father who retired as a commander several years back. Please keep Paulie's family in your thoughts & prayers. To those of us who knew him, you couldn't have asked for a better friend.
Rest In Peace Paulie. You fought a couraegous battle with fierce determination till the end. We will all miss you.
022 Tact/Gangs
while we have your attention...go to foxnews-law center search al sharpton false accusations...this type of slander and sick twists of the truth sounds a lot like what has happened to countless police officers...just because the city settles doesn't mean you cannot file suit against the accuser or ANY other person who makes false claims against you.
STAND UP!
I swore to myself that i would not post here again, I lied. This article is by and far the most positive thing you have done with this blog. Let's hope two things...
1) That this article in the mainstream media helps this department save itself from itself.
2) This article doesn't bury you in some godforsaken place like the "pond" or even worse 35th street.
Be Safe

Easy there Hollywood Joe, I wouldn't want to think I have to start wearing my bullet proof vest while working inside the office! Just take a few deep breaths, all will be fine, really! I see a few Oscars and Emmies in your future. And both, Oscar and Emmy are great guys too!
Just keep doing what you do SCC. Please
You no the merits are shittingin their pants to bad the City and our BS union doesnt identify all of them
Just keep doing what you do SCC. Please
You know the merits are shitting in their pants too bad the City and our BS union doesnt identify all of them. Especially all the merit sgts in the 022nd Dist, tac and gang teams. I am e-mailing Kim
about the merits who have taken my spot, my pension money and my families future should I pass.
Went to Fitzgerald and Feds and all I get is we know we have other serious crime to work on
I worked the madness in the 010 District this weekend.
But I wasn't saying Viva La Mexico but VIVA SCC!
Keep it up!
SCC remember the movie Spartacus? When they caught him in the end they said who is Spartacus. All them men said "I'M Spartacus". Since you speak for all of us if they come after you we all should say, "We are SCC."
That was an awesome article and the part about Seiser made me spit my juice on the computer!!
In the words of Han Solo
"Nice work kid, now dont get cocky"
I GIVE CREDIT TO THE MAYOR OF GARY INDIANA FOR BACKING HIS POLICE OFFICERS AND SAYING, "OUR POLICE OFFICERS IN GARY, OUR SOME OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY". IT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR THAT FROM OUR MAYOR.......NEVER WILL HAPPEN
good article. SCC, don't get too vain. this is probably a veiled attempt to lead to your demise. stay on your toes.....
also from today's southtown -
A Worth man is charged with burglary after he allegedly broke into a Chicago police officer's home Saturday morning.
Daniel Maslo, 21, of the 11700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, was shot in the thigh by the officer, who was off duty (midway area).
Officer injured while making arrest
A Chicago police officer was injured, possibly stabbed, while making an arrest this morning on Chicago's North Side.
The incident occurred just after 10:40 a.m. at a CVS Pharmacy, 1714 N. Sheffield Ave., according to Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman Eve Rodriguez.
Police said an officer was hurt, but did not have details on the extent of the injuries or the incident. Rodriguez said there was a stabbing reported at the address.
A CVS store manager said police were on the scene but the store was not closed.
OFFICER DOWN!!!!
This morning an officer from 018 was stabbed while attempting to arrest to individuals for retail theft. She is going to survive, but will be undergoing surgery on her hand. Her vest stopped a wound to the chest near her star. Please keep her in your prayers!

When is Cmdr Roy going to stop the bullshit "B" team nonsense? For fuck's sake we are depleted enough thanks to TRU. I'm just a regular beat guy on afternoons who is constantly getting screwed by Buddy Lopez's B team. They don't answer up for nothing and it is causing such a problem in morale. Why aren't they the first ones on a priority call? 2 hour lunches at the Watertower Place? Come on!!! The watch used to be the best in the city, but now we are becoming the joke of the city!
The 10 sector is totally out of control and it is getting very dangerous to work there without backup. Where the fuck is the backup? Where is the help? Something has to change, before we find ourselves reading an obituary of a 009 dist officer. We need help B team, so get off your lazy asses and assist us ok?! WTF!!!
3-11 copper 009 dist
Both offenders are in custody for the stabbing of the po in 018 thanks to some great police work by responding units, citizens and detectives in the area.
Overall a good article.
Keep your identity secret or the fun will really begin. Best thing is that this blog is now so "Big" that if the cretins on 35th did retaliate the blowback would be substantial.
Right now between the CTA messup, rising taxes, and feds so far up his ass he can taste the Brylcream Daley looks shellshocked.
At the moment the Leprechaun King doesn't look like the happiest mobbed up Bridgeporter around.
Time for a few federal indictments to give this city the enema it needs.
Great Job!
You were a nuesnace to them but now you are a true pain in their ass.
By the way, I am a "less successful imitator" and I know those weren't your words.
Best of luck SCC
OFF TOPIC:
Did anyone happen to see the Mayor of Gary, IN being interviewed on television Sunday regarding the response of the Gary police to the traffic accident that claimed the lives of two passengers who were not found by police or EMS at the time of the accident only to be found later by one of the parents?
I can't respond to the allegations being made against the officers and EMS personnel but I was completely blown away by the support that the Mayor of Gary gave to the Gary police officers by stating that "some of our police officers are the finest in the Country" along with the usual "under investigation" response which is certainly understandable.
Anyone ever recall "Ritchie" making a remotely similar comment to the media supporting Chicago police officers?
SEISER RUNS IT ON SOUTHTOWN....
I fully support your cause. I'm glad to see someone else telling it the way it is. Being a resident of Chicago, I often wondered if there was ever somebody who wasn't afraid to tell the truth, I'm happy to have just discovered your blog and I look forward to reading it for years to come!
Any truth to the fact that a Judge in Traffic Court released the whole call based on the "facts" he learned while reading this site and has made the determination that Chicago Police are "liars" and have shown how easy it is for them to "fabricate fairy tales" in this website.
The judge concluded by saying that he figures the Police will campaign against him in the next election - but that doesn't concern him.
Way to go "Pooolice" everyone at my office just read your site. we concluded that the new breed of police are just spoiled and whining brats -- just like the rest of this "hair-gel" age group.
Now when we see you guys and girls standing on your corners downtown and getting your coffee at Starbucks with your hair nicely done and leather gloves sticking out of your pockets and belts, we know that you look mighty pretty in your baseball caps,,, but can your fight????
Hopefully, terrorists groups won't learn about this site, because we're "doomed" if they read about how helpless and hopeless our Police officers are.
God Bless Mayor Daley who has done more for this City then anyone of you crybabies.
NEW CPD ORDER...EFFECTIVE IMMEDITALEY....
Anytime a Officer is investigating an Auto Accident, the officer will conduct a 2 block canvass, to look for any person(s) ejected from the accident. Officers will complete a log, and go door to door.
ok...this is what I heard....that hard hitting, factual,no non-sense,truly believable, deer in headlights program called "CrimeWatch" that informs citizens with the IQ of a turtle, which is giving them credit, is thinking about doing a special on this blog. The only problem is the producers of this program are finding it hard to locate this blog on the internet. They can't seem to understand the concept of typing w w w. Rumor has it the same person who thought up the new inventory process will assist them in logging on,meaning, it might be centuries til this program airs. Next on CrimeWatch, The Modern Police Officer-never to be seen anymore because he's been inside processing a disorderly conduct arrest for the the last 10 days on the computer.
Rest in peace Paul Clisham, a true gentleman.

he is right you know, we are a bunch of self-centered, racist assholes. I am changing my ways and going back to flipping burgers.
Thirteen people, including a child, were sent to several area hospitals after a crash involving a minivan and a CTA bus Sunday.
Way to go Mayor Daley!

Sorry Mr. Rhodes scholar, but I know many police officers that have advanced degrees from real universities such as Northwestern, Loyola, UIC, and John Marshall law school including myself. I can agree with you that people on this blog post questionable material, but lumping us together and assuming that we express the same ideas makes you ignorant and goofy yourself. There is no way to tell even if the posts are from the big bad police officers that you are turning your back on.
Just imagine coming in to work everyday and having a group of people sitting behind you while you do your work telling you that you need to work harder, you are not doing enough, or having pathetic excuses for humans following you around waiting to sue you for anything you did. Even if you did all of your work correctly, you would have a unruly crowd follow you around yelling and screaming, throwing rocks at you, spitting at you, and damaging your property. When it comes time to getting a raise, having a boss nickel and dime you to death by increasing your salary, but then raising your insurance premiums to make up the difference while he wastes the company’s money on planters in the middle of a roadway and a giant metal bean. Imagine one of your co-workers getting murdered right in front of you or face multiple assaults on a regular basis and when it comes time for the person to get sentenced for assaulting you, the judge tells you it’s part of your job to be a punching bag for criminals and the guy walks free. Have you ever seen a baby scalded by boiling water, anally raped by a family member, dead from abuse/torture? How about decapitated heads, suicides, overdoses, gunshot victims, and people run over by a CTA trains? I bet not and we have to everyday because people like you couldn’t handle something as terrible as what we’ve seen. I know what you are going to say, no one forced us to take this job, but I am very proud to wear this uniform because I’ve never lied on the stand, beat people for nothing, arrested someone that didn’t commit a crime, or taken a dime from anyone. I have also saved multiple lives, delivered a baby, and was seriously injured when I volunteered to help a fellow officer when he was answering a call by himself.
Go ahead and pull your money and support because everyone else hates us and could care less about us, so your gonna have to stand in line.
You really have to admire someone that risks their life for someone they don't even know and will do it without hesitation. That's what we do.

I got a great idea! Let's have that screen writer Hollywood Joe McGuire, not sure what unit he is assigned to, write a major motion picture script about the mysteries surrounding S.C.C.!
Joe can call it, S.C.C. Angels! The real S.C.C. guy can be in the movie but just like Charlie of Charlie's Angels, he is only shown speaking through a speaker phone.
And Hollywood Joe McGuire can play the role of John Bosley. I know a few women on this job that can play the Angels! Oh yes!
The Angels can play the role of crime solving bloggers. Maybe even get Matt Druge to make a cameo appearance. Just think of some of the regular posters of S.C.C. who can have extra actor roles.
I can see the masked SCC blogger accepting the Oscar on Oscar Night. This is going to be a hit, blockbuster and a EPIC!
And I would offer my director skills as well as my casting couch to the movie, thats's just me!

SCC are you a blue eyes blonde hair devil? Or maybe now on the Federal Terrorist list? Whom is this person? I am sending my best detectives on this assignment. We will break this case wide open. Better yet, I am assigning the Area Two Gun Team to this top secret mission. They will squeeze every grandfather they lock up with a squirrel rifle til one talks.

WTF!!!

If you've never gone into an alley after a "man with a gun", if you've never extracted an accident victim from a burning car, if you've never held a child who was maimed, struck, whipped, burned or killed by his parent, if you've never carried out a DOA victim from his business after a robbery, if you've never been shot at and missed and shit on and hit, if you've never fished out a "floater", you have no idea what a PO does. Yeah we bitch, moan, cry and complain. You on the other hand, in your "cubicle farm" worry about who's in the next cubicle and how to step over them on your rise to corporate leadership. Please Citizen ......STFU........when you've done what my brothers and sisters have done every day, day in and day out, you can talk to us on an equal basis. Until then, may nothing bad ever happen to you. To my active and retired family.....Stay Safe and know that they will never understand.

I agree with the above statement partially. The fact of the matter is that most police dont do these things. And it is pretty disturbing. I dont know how many times my partner and I are responding to a shots fired call and see other squad cars driving in the opposite Direction. I could go on and on about the dogs that do everthing they can to not work and screw over their coworkers. Not to mention how they interact with the public.
I think I was lucky to come on when I did. To learn from the old timers that came on during the 60's and early 70's. We listened to you guys. This new breed doesnt have a clue and wont listen, and very few try to learn this job and do it well.

Dear Mr/Ms Business person,
I'm a Civilian and support this blog and our officers. These men and women need a place to express their voices. Besides, not everyone on here is a cop. So how did you pick out the posts that were from Officers? Perhaps you should explain what goes on in the business world or would you like me to do so? Because I have over 10 years of management and have seen a lot of garbage behind closed doors... how upper management operates. So don't play "I am much better then the cops" b.s. because it doesn't fly. Please do the memorial a favor and give money to it when you understand what and who our officers are out here. You should try walking in their shoes. You would be quite surprised.
To the Morgan Park businessman who is offended by what he read here, I can only say that you are "thin skinned." So toughen up!
We as P.O.'s on the other hand, are "thick skinned" from years of abuse from the politicians (who's ass you so eagerly pucker up to kiss), criminals, bosses, and the public.
We come hear and vent a little bit. But truly, I am more offended by the garbage that is on T.V. every night, then what is posted here.
Thank you for your past support. But if you feel that strongly, give the money to Al Gore so he can "save the wales" or some such shit!
You overreact and now wish to paint every officer with the same broad brush. That just shows how "narrow-minded" you are!
We (police officers) as a group are the most scrutinized members of society. I assure you, as a % of the population, your beloved politicians have less scruples, 2nd only to BUSINESSMAN!
I have had so many bad experiences with business types, who's only wish is to enrich themselves by "FUCKING OVER" others on a daily basis. Oh wait..you sir are a businessman..did you take an oath? Do you have a code-of-conduct?
Well I did and we do!
So kindly consume defecation and cease to exist. That is a kind way to say "eat shit and die" ASSHAT!
Okay..I'm done venting now..have a nice day!
The Gary Police did the right thing. They declined making a comment to the press until they had a reasonable idea of what happened. Their explanation of the events certainly makes sense and the support of the mayor and police chief is incredible. I believe their explanation of what took place 100%.
Driver of the car most likey intoxicated, retricted drivers license. excessive speed... ect. All things the poooolice made them do.
I am a businessman who lives and has an office in the Morgan Park Police District. blah blah blah

I believe Jack Nicholson's character in "A few Good Men" said it best when he said (and I paraphrase) that it takes a lot of nerve to criticise the people who stand on the wall, who provide, or attempt to provide a safe environment for the people behind the wall, while sitting in safety behind that same wall. But you know what Mr. Businessman? We will be out there, night and day, protecting you and everyone else who chooses to take both verbal and real shots at us. You know why? Because that is what the Real Police do. So enjoy your safe haven. We not only have each others backs, we have yours too.

1. You posted anonymously, 2. you obviously aren't a friend and support of police or you wouldn't post a comment such as this, 3. You have shown yourself to be ignorant, uneducated, pompous and a fool by posting this. Have you really read all the posts? Do you always take the rantings of a few and use them to generalize thousands of people from all different walks of life as well as educational levels, races and religions? See? If you do this, you ARE ignorant.

Wow. All respect, huh? Sorry to hear that. All that respect lost just from reading opinions and ideas expressed mostly by police officers on a site, correct me if i'm wrong SCC, which was created by and for police officers. You don't have to agree, but we do have the right to express ourselves or does the 1st Amendment not apply to us.
"The vulgar, crass, inconsiderate and condescending tone you take towards anyone who is not a police officer is offensive and insulting."
Sorry you feel this way.
I've been blogging and reading from this site for a while and I've never gotten the sense that there was an underlying war against all non-police offiers. We serve these people everyday. We do however maintain our opinions of the biased media, fake reverends, criminals, overpromoted officers, etc. "Silly People".

Thanks.
"Never again will I give a dime to any cause backed or sanctioned by the Chicago Police Officers..."
Again, sorry to hear that. But I think we'll do fine without you. There are still many good people left that will continue to support us.
"You, as an anonymous group, are an insult to this great City. Oh, now be sure and bash me with how your going to write me tickets and all those idle threats."
Even if we wanted to do these things we don't know who you are. You too felt the need to remain anonymous.

You were a friend? Friends wouldn't create a general negative opinion of us like that and they certainly wouldn't turn their backs on us either. Your intelligent friends and associates will be able to see things for what they are and possibly from our points of view too.
to: 9/17/2007, 7:06 am....pompous, ignorant, uneducated?....well, I have a law degree, work with many who have master's degrees, some with PhD.'s; until you walk in our shoes (as others have said)....go to hell....

Remind me who you are, when someone has a gun to your head.
Even after I find out, I'll still do my best to save your life and put the mfer away for 35 years, while risking my life.
Yeah, your right, I'm dumb for caring. Soon you'll piss off all the coppers and the criminals will be in your house and no one will come. Soon, its everyone for themselves if you stop supporting the police.
PS wait until us coppers start picking up gangbangers and dropping them off you in your suburb or yuppie condo building. "have fun"

I am sorry that you will not join me in supporting these fine people and causes, but understand your disgust.

You're right some police did the same thing in the 60's & 70's such as never going to a 10-1 or going the other way when someone needed help. They never were the police. The comment was meant for the working PO's.
to: 9/17/2007, 11:23 pm...you are certainly entitled to your opinions (i.e., a degree from John Marshall is like a degree from Lewis, a degree factory); but how about considering the intelligence and character of the individual? And, and, does a degree from Harvard, or Northwestern, or the Univ. of Chicago., mean more? I have a family member who has an advanced degree from the U. of Chicago (non-law); a wonderful and talented person, who has much to give to society, and who has absolutely no clue as to the level of violence and chaos in Chicago...does that make that person more or less qualified, or educated, or?...if a person gets a law degree from Northwestern, or Harvard, or Yale, or Michigan, or Notre Dame, and they get a job making 150K+, at a law firm in Chicago, are they any "better", "more courageous", "more educated", then the police officer that attended John Marshall or Chicago-Kent, who got the law degree, passed the bar exam, and still drives the beat car on the afternoon or midnight shift, who sees and deals with the violence, and who rejects the corporate and character fraud of the legal world?

Dear Mr. Morgan Park Businessman:
to paraphrase Shakespeare:
I am a Chicago Police Officer(P.O.). Hath not a P.O. eyes? Hath not a P.O. hands, organs, dimension, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a Civilian is? If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resmeble you in that. If a P.O. wrong a Citizen, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Citizen wrong a P.O., what should his sufferance be by a Model Citizen's example? Why, revenge. The villany you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.
Merry Xmas GC!

Go away troll!
***********************************I DONT THINK MOST COPS KNOW THE REAL REV. AL AHARPTON. His greatest infamy came in 1987, with the Tawana Brawley hoax. As the journalist Nat Hentoff has put it, this is Sharpton's "Chappaquiddick." To recall the horrid affair: A girl named Tawana Brawley, after staying away from home for several days, smeared herself with dog feces, scrawled racial epithets on her body, and hopped into a garbage bag. Then she claimed that six white men, including a police officer, had raped and otherwise tormented her. All of America sat up in alarm. Bill Cosby, who was at the height of his fame and popularity, offered a large monetary award for information leading to arrests. And Al Sharpton, of course, was on the spot. Acting as the Brawley family's adviser, he urged them not to cooperate with the authorities, including the state attorney general, Robert Abrams. To cooperate with Abrams, he said, would be "to sit down with Mr. Hitler." A Sharpton sidekick, Alton Maddox, added, "Robert Abrams, you are no longer going to masturbate looking at Tawana Brawley's picture."
One of those whom Sharpton and his partners accused was an assistant district attorney, Steven Pagones, who was, needless to say, innocent (the crime never took place). After he was cleared, he held a press conference, which Sharpton, in his theatrical fashion, attempted to crash. "Your accuser has arrived!" he bellowed. Sharpton had said before, "We stated openly that Steven Pagones did it. If we're lying, sue us, so we can go into court with you and prove you did it. Sue us- sue us right now." Oddly enough, Pagones did. He spent a decade of his life pursuing a defamation case against Sharpton and his accomplices, finally winning that case one glorious, cleansing day in July of 1998. His life had been a hell-of death threats, illnesses, and assorted other agonies. He said to an interviewer in 1997, "I know that Sharpton doesn't care how I feel. [But] I will follow him and make sure he pays up as long as I live. Wherever he goes, he'll find me waiting for him." Sharpton now owes Pagones $65,000 in damages, money that the victim will probably never see.At the heart of any case against Sharpton-and against the notion of a New Sharpton-is his persecution of Steven Pagones. It has been, to use the word for which there is no substitute, evil. He has never apologized for his deeds, and nothing piques him more than to be reminded of them. "If I saved the Pope's life," he has sniped, "the media would ask me about Brawley." In soft moments, he has come close to apologizing ("I have regrets"). In harder ones, he is angrily defiant ("Never, ever!"). Liberal journalists-white-patiently explain that, for a black leader, an apology is a complicated matter: a question of politics and tactics, not of right and wrong. As Sharpton himself has said, to apologize would be "all about submission." White folk "are asking me to grovel. They want black children to say that they forced a black man coming out of the hardcore ghetto to his knees." Jesse Jackson gained nothing by apologizing for his "Hymietown" remark, so why should he? Only last year, Sharpton said of his role in the Brawley case, "If I had to do it again, I'd do it in the same way.
This guy now has an office in Chicago...it's just a matter of time until he does this again and it could happen with the Aaron Harrison shooting in 011. #2c

STFU, you still have to pass the bar exam asshole, i've heard of plenty of people who went to prestigious law schools who took 3 or 4 tries to pass, while others freom Marshall and Kent and any other school that isn't Harvard, Yale or Princeton pass the first time around. Marshall is also known to have produced many fine trial lawyers. If you apply yourself at any school you will succeed, it doesn't matter the name of the school. Typical elitist jagoff.

I am going to start a blog and since you are so easily persuaded it will be called give me all your money . Take a chill pill and maybe give those DEAD officers another chance and CONTINUE to keep donating. Have you ever thought ALL cops are good because you knew of a good one? I am sure not. It is easier for people like you to cling to something negative. I dare you to tell the John Knight fund that SCC changed your mind. Hey, SCC maybe you should raise money since you are so good at taking over someone's life long beliefs. Maybe my new blog will be named Seiser Runs It!!
I am a businessman who lives and has an office in the Morgan Park Police District.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE NOT THE GUY WHO OPERATES THE BURGER KING ON KEDZIE!!!
ALL YOU SAID YOU DONATED WAS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS - WHO CARES?
I CAN EAT THAT MUCH FREE FOOD AT THE BK IN A WEEK!
I am amused by the elitist jagoff who signed his post "a lawyer who knows" after dissing John Marshall law school.
How come the liberal assholes of society can pontificate all day about who is worthy or unworthy in society?
Example: Lewis is a diploma mill. John Marshall sucks, etc. Oh, but look at me "a lawyer who knows," I went to Northwestern U..I am the greatest..Oh, but George Bush is DUMB,blah, blah, blah!
********************************
I guess Harvard or Yale only count as top tier schools for graduates other than George Bush!!
YOU FUCKING PUKE!
I love it when some hollywood high school drop out, like sean penn can get up on his elitist left wing soap box and talk shit about how dumb Pres. Bush is. That's what "a lawyer who knows" sounds like..a whiney hollywood liberal elitist jag-off!!!!!!!
I know people with degrees from Chicago State and Morton Community College that sound more intelligent than you!
Some good lawyers at the A.L.C.U. came from John Marshall Law School, need one say more?

I don't know if I'd be blowing my horn about going to the John Marshall Law School. Thats not something to be proud of.
Hey, wtf is wrong with you people? A copper goes to school on HIS time on the CITY'S dime, and you give him grief? What's wrong with Marshall? Once you pass the bar it doesn't matter anyway, kinda like the CPD academy....while state is the real deal, we elected to go to a subpar training facility and accept employment into a scandal-ridden joke of a department....but once we passed the test, we are state certified. Meaning we can go anywhere in the state even though we went through abysmal training. So what's your deal? As a po who was trained and works here, you are honestly going to cast stones at someone who chooses to better themselves? dope
Careful with your spelling SCC. I think by repoire you meant rapport. You also used the wrong version of "to." Shame, shame. ;)
You, as an anonymous group, are an insult to this great City. Oh, now be sure and bash me with how your going to write me tickets and all those idle threats. You've lost a friend and a supporter. I intend to past this website on to all my business associates and friends who also support police
Join the club...and i'm the police

Hey ya'll. Anyone here know wat pompous means? Is dat sum sort of fruit from sum tropical island?
To Morgan Park businessman:
I invite you to walk a mile in my shoes. I formally invite you to do a ride along (ie spend an entire tour riding with officers on a car) and see how you deal with it. I highly doubt that you could handle when you go from very quiet to 100 miles an hour on the emotional scale, listening to our radio frequency, never mind actually going to the assignment. Man shot, man stabbed, burglary in progress (not necessarily a business in Morgan Park, could be someone's house).
Call the 022nd District Commander's Office at 312-745-0710, and ask about doing the ride along. It can even be arranged at any time convenient to you, although I highly recommend afternoons or midnights, for the full effect. We even have people with spare bulletproof vests for you to wear, in case you are scared.
You can spend your money however you want, but remember, so can we. I can assure you that should the identity of your business ever be discovered, the amount of people who would no longer patronize it would cause you financial difficulty. City workers do stick together in this area much more than you might anticipate, and all of the workers have close friends who would also boycott you in support. I can respect your pinion to hate the police even if I vehemently disagree with it (which I do), but be man enough to admit you are a police hater. Don't hide behind a flase facade, claiming past support of police causes. If you had problems with some police officers after being a supporter, you of all people would know who to talk to in order to get things straightened out.

Ok, I see your point. However, bear in mind that you are frequenting an ANONYMOUS BLOG....I suspect that there are several posts here that are NOT from police officers. And also bear in mind that this is a blog where officers go to vent...I'm sure that if one of your employees hosted an anonymous blog, you would have similar posts. Don't judge all police officers based on the 111 posts that this thread entertains.

XXXXXXXX
Ummm, hey there, a quick thought smarty pants....its city, not City (just like you don't live in this great Country, you live in this great country. It's only capitalized if it is contract speak that has been specifically identified in the opening terms, or it is a proper noun, such as the City, in which case it is a proper noun that substitues for the City of Chicago. Your usage is incorrect.) YOU'RE, a contraction for YOU ARE, is what you should have used, not YOUR, which is possessive. And its POST, not past. And you need a comma after uneducated because it does not conclude the list.
Sincerely, an uneducated pompous fool.
A Morgan Park businessman? Mmmmmmm. . . lemme guess, Nail salon? Fish restaurant? Dope dealer? Go away Ginger lover!
An excellent piece in the paper. Ironically the Dickster and the 5th floor are playing the Ostrich game. "If I put my head in the sand, it doesn't exist." Our sources close to Ozville a.k.a. City Hall tell us that King Richie will not acknowledge SCC. This is probably a good thing as it shows that a certain amount of trepidation on his part indicates fear. Our sources on the 5th floor of 35th street tell us that they are besides themselves with wonder as to how to make amends since they know that trying to completely stop SCC would be futile. We can only sit back and enjoy the show. The seats are great, the beer is cold, and right now it's time for another hot dog.
To the Morgan Park business man....
Keep your money shithead, we don't need it... And, as for all your alleged monetary gifts in the past, being a "business man of 35 years", I can only imagine what you you actually gave and what you deducted on your income taxes...You sound like the quintasential business man, so my advice to you is go back to stealing gold from the teeth of your dead and dying family members and cheating the goverment out of tax money you worthless piece of schmegma.......
I just discovered your blog thanks to the articles...I enjoy it.
Please keep it real and pour on more hot coals on da Mayor's head along with all his crooked relations. Perhaps the feds will get the message.
Why are you responding to Mr Morgan Park businessman?
Who cares!
Let the "outsiders" walk around with their rose-colored glasses on. They have no clue as to why we are the way we are. They don't need an explanation! They just don't get it.
I won't lose any sleep over it. Sweet Dreams!

Well said!
Sharky,
I have tried to get a ride along in numerous districts in Chicago and have been told that it has to be "career related" ie: attorney, reporter.(I believe those were the words one of them used)
What gives??SCC?Anybody??
Da Mayor must be feeling the heat 'cause he was at the candlelight ceremony 2nite.
The Ride-Along Program facilitates the Department’s partnership with the community by affording individuals the opportunity to personally observe patrol operations. This program is primarily designed for district law enforcement operations. Requests for a ride-along in units other than district law enforcement
will also be considered. The program will allow community residents, government leaders and officials, members of professional organizations, educators, members
of other law enforcement agencies, and persons conducting research deemed appropriate by the Department to be considered for approval to participate in the
Ride-Along Program.
A Morgan Park businessman?

Walk out of Chicago's china town only a block or two and you or UR loved ones are subject to MURDER..cops go there all the time, but, then again, they have big guns....
Free tickets to the gun show? What a maroon.
9/17 7:06am is a fraud. I guarantee he's never been a police supporter nor done anything in his pathetic little life to help one of us.
Nice try though, troll.

I don't know, they sound like normal working people to me. Same shit goes on in my agency and your employees are probably complaining about you behind your back.
You have no idea what it's like to work with offenders. You see the very worst of human nature. The worst. Shit you couldn't even dream up. So, why don't you just say thank you to the nice police officers and move on if this site is so distasteful to you?
(P.S. 100 club my ass.)
It is what it is.
