Police Shooting
- A man that police say ran from officers as they were responding to reports of drug activity Friday night in the South Side’s South Shore neighborhood was fatally shot after he allegedly exchanged gunfire with police.
A South Chicago District tactical officer chased the man, who earlier fled police, through a series of alleys and lost sight of him in an empty lot near the 7800 block of South Cregier Avenue just after 10:45 p.m., according to News Affairs Deputy Director Pat Camden.
The officer began looking around parked cars but couldn’t find him, when the man “comes out” and opens fire on the officer, Camden said. The officer began to retreat for cover because his gun was still in his holster, Camden said.
“The guy fires two more shots, and the officer draws his weapon and exchanged gunfire with the offender,” Camden said. The man was hit multiple times and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he later died, Camden said.
And the countdown to, "Oh, they killed my BABY. He was going to be a heart surgeon after he finished his GED" begins again. We'll bet by sundown tonight.

004 is a really busy district that is severely undermanned. There are a lot of good officers that work down there and have held their own for awhile now because of their aggressive police work. However, it cannot hold like this forever. They need manpower, just like every other district in the city. Thank God this officer came out on the winning side. I hope we always come out unharmed. This lack of manpower is starting to become dangerous.

Off topic, but I just wanted to thank Bt. 433, 2nd watch the other day for throwing a ticket on my car parked in front of my kids school while I was picking him up. And spare me with the "You shouldn't have parked there to begin with" shit. 16 yrs on the job and I've never ticketed another copper's car knowingly. And if I did and he came to me about it I did what I could to make it right. But get this. As he's putting the ticket on my window and of course making sure he pressed the sticky tape on firmly, I called out to him. He literally runs back to his car and high tails it out of there. So I start to follow him, flashing my lights and beeping my horn and he guns it. Then to top it off he drives the wrong way down a one way street knowing I won't follow him. When I got around the block to meet him on the other side, he had backed back out and took off. I guess proffessional courtesy has gone out the window in today's day and age. Sorry but had to get this off my chest.

TRU, SOS, Gang Intell, NAGIS & the DOC account for over 1100 personnel. Check ICLEAR. Cut those units in half and you could put 550 cops back in the Districts. If you identified the 10 busiest districts by calls and crimes that would be 55 people per. That's leadership and common sense speaking...do you hear us at 35 & Mich?

COPS NAB SUSPECT IN THE KILLING OF TWO RETIRED COPS WORKING FOR ARMORED CAR SERVICE
PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 6) -- A convicted bank robber charged with killing two armored car guards spotted the vehicle on the road and followed it to the ATM machine, a homicide detective said Saturday.
Mustafa Ali, 36, of Philadelphia, then shot the two retired Philadelphia police officers as they serviced the cash machine, police said.
"He follows the truck, he sees an opportunity and he takes it," said the detective, who worked on the case but requested anonymity because he is not a supervisor and is not authorized to comment publicly.
Ali was scheduled to be arraigned later Saturday. He was arrested on an unrelated charge Friday afternoon and was later charged with two counts of murder, robbery, a firearms charge and other charges after giving a statement.
Ali previously served seven years in federal prison for bank robbery, the detective said. It was not clear if he had an attorney.
One has to wonder....If Mustafa Ali, has any terrorists ties?

They can't because the chopper only gets two homeland security checks in chicago then heads to outer cook county.

I parked in a clearly marked, no parking zone in front of a Public School. I have been parking here for many years illegaly and never got one of those tickets.
Now an Officer doing his job the right way, and because the school is always complaining about the illegal parkers, finaly writes you a well desreved ticket.
Now you want to bitch because he would not stop for you so you could give him a hard time and demand he illegaly fixes the ticket because your the Police.
The sign says NO PARKING! That includes Police Officer picking up their children. The sign is there for the safety of the children comming and going to the school. The sign is not there for Police Officers who think they are someome special and are ignorant enough to violate the signs.
I wish I knew what school this was so I could write you one too.
Here is some friendly advice.
1. Dont violate the signs!
2. Be a man/woman and pay the fine.
3. Do not ask an Officer to fix the ticket. In this day and age you cant exepect an Officer to risk his job or more so you can get out of a $75.00 ticket.
4. It's just a parking ticket, is't no big deal.
5. I dont think enyone on this blog cares.
6. proffessional courtesy only applies before the ticket is written. You must be new guy.

I think Daley should show how much he cares about the Ickes. He should sell his downtown townhouse and move into an apartment at the Ickes with the Reverend Jesse. They can share an apartment and split the rent. Then he can really be in touch with the residents and they can all party together. He can even witness first hand how these fine upstanding citizens are being abused by the big bad police. All the residents can turn their guns in personally to Richie and Jesse for some cash. That way no one would have to sell drugs to make the rent payment. 1) The "no parking" signs mean YOU TOO.
2)The schools call all the time to the various District Stations to complain about illegal parking.
It's also dangerous for the kids who cross the street between the illegally parked cars; motorists don't see them! If your kid was ever struck, do you think YOU would complain about the illegally parked cars that obstructed a motorist's view of your kid? DUH!
3)Don't come on the blog and whine about receiving a parking ticket. You screwed up. Write the check, or go pay it at the new City "Pay Up" machines that have been installed at some of the Districts already. Why would you attempt to chase down a squad car about something YOU did wrong? And with your kid in the car too? Jeez!

Lol, damn! It meant that much to the officer to write the ticket on another officer's vehicle and then run away? WTF is this department turning into? But plain and simple, office was in a no parking zone but the P.O. who ran could have at least manned up and said "yeah I wrote it because Mrs. Kravitz the principal or citizen across the way has been beefing." Or even hear the office out for a bit. But it's not difficult to imagine the issuing officer putting himself in the trickbag ala "4th Dist. W/C? Howcome Officer Whodunnit didn't write this car?"
It looks like office has to eat that one. Hell, I remember doing loop traffic out of the kraft building after my field training. The commander was a rotten m/f for telling us we can park around the building for roll call then have the meter maids ticket us. When we complained his answer was "fuck you recruits, you make enough money now so pay the damn tickets. Now get the fuck out of my office."
Now the funny part was when we hunted and found where the meter maids were parking we made sure they got tickets for 8 hours every half hour cuz TAA-DAHH! they were in a no parking zone. The reaction was hilarious! Even more so when we made them remove their FOP #7 medallions under threat of arrest so mucho tickets and a couple hundred bucks for a touch up paint job on some green meanies cars was worth the price of being screamed at the next day.
Not to diminish what happened to office but just a little left handed levity
Is anybody else outraged that News Affairs is making statements like, "his gun was still in his holster" when he was fired at. Why is that in Camden's statement? Are they trying to reassure that the police officer was right in his actions. Are they trying to stop a possible riot? Is this what its coming down to? A cop gets shot at and our own department can't simply say, "The officer defended his life while being shot at by the offender." Save the info for the Supp's, that doesn't need to be on the news!

To the guy who got the ticket, at least you saw the twirp who wrote it. I have gotten tickets in the mail from weasel coppers who see the FOP medalian write the ticket and don't leave it on my car. If your going to give a fellow officer a ticket at least have the balls to leave it on the car. Guy don't feel bad you are not alone. Find out where he lives and have his car tagged! 1. Dont violate the signs!
2. Be a man/woman and pay the fine.
3. Do not ask an Officer to fix the ticket. In this day and age you cant exepect an Officer to risk his job or more so you can get out of a $75.00 ticket.
4. It's just a parking ticket, is't no big deal.
5. I dont think enyone on this blog cares.
6. proffessional courtesy only applies before the ticket is written. You must be new guy.

Parking issues always make me laugh. Calling your fellow coppers rats and calling for them to be publicly "outed" because he wrote a parking ticket. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. An FOP medallion does not mean the person who drives or owns the vehicle is a member and it is not a permit to park illegally. If you believe that behind the wheel of every vehicle with a medallion is a cop then your a fool. Too many coppers ruined that by giving them out to relatives and friends. Your complaining about getting a parking ticket, I can only imagine how much more you complainers would attack a fellow officer if he locked up one of your cousins or friends for having a medallion on their car. If you park illegally, get a ticket, and then get mad at the officer, YOUR the jagoff. As far as him not allowing a citizen to conduct a t-stop for the sole purpose of complaining about a ticket that was rightfully given, why would he? Grow up, pay your ticket like we expect every joe citizen to do, and quite using your employment as an officer as an excuse to park illegally.

5 m/1's juv's had one real gun and some pellet guns they decide to go to 111th and harding and try to rob some kids over there and then head to the park to rob somemore. an odpo see the pistol and calls
they take off and get caught at 107th and drake & 109 central park all were charged with robbery except the 8yr old and of course the lil animals live in 006 & 007

me, my neighbors and all my friends and family on beat 433 get NO police service. call 911 huh. I called yesterday and their was NO ANSWER (I kid you not). when I do call (probably 3-4 a week average) which is a shame, the police take about 4-5 hours to respond, thats if they even show up. it's obvious nobody gives a shit about all the good hard working honest taxpayers that live on 433's beat. fuck all of us right. give all the police service to the scumbags on the north end of the district. the badguys know their are no police around so they do what they do unchallenged. fucking travesity!
