The Black KKK claimed another victim, a high-profile professional football player with a checkered past this time.
No, we don't know for certain the circumstances surrounding Taylor's death. I could very well be proven wrong for engaging in this sort of aggressive speculation. But it's no different than if you saw a fat man fall to the ground clutching his chest. You'd assume a heart attack, and you'd know, no matter the cause, the man needed to lose weight.
Well, when shots are fired and a black man hits the pavement, there's every statistical reason to believe another black man pulled the trigger. That's not some negative, unfair stereotype. It's a reality we've been living with, tolerating and rationalizing for far too long.
Let's cut through the bull(manure) and deal with reality. Black men are targets of black men. Period. Go check the coroner's office and talk with a police detective. These bullets aren't checking W-2s.
Rather than whine about white folks' insensitivity or reserve a special place of sorrow for rich athletes, we'd be better served mustering the kind of outrage and courage it took in the 1950s and 1960s to stop the white KKK from hanging black men from trees.
But we don't want to deal with ourselves. We take great joy in prescribing medicine to cure the hate in other people's hearts. Meanwhile, our self-hatred, on full display for the world to see, remains untreated, undiagnosed and unrepentant.
Jason Whitlock is an award winning columnist for the Kansas City Star. Oh yeah, and he's black. Read the last two paragraphs we quoted above. Can you imagine Mope-rah ever preaching to the masses like that? Espousing responsibility? Demanding people take back their community? Hell no. Go read any of her last five columns and we'll bet you a shiny dime that she takes the complete opposite view of Mr. Whitlock.
If this is how Jason Whitlock lives his life and not just writes his columns, we'd vote for him no matter the office he ran for. If the Sun Times or the Tribune had half a brain, they'd hire this guy away from Kansas City and see if he would write op-ed pieces, because he's wasted on the sports beat. He gives us hope that a turnaround is coming to this country one day soon.

CNN had a live show from the Orange Bowl regarding the death of Sean Taylor. One of the NFL players on the CNN panel said “They were all out to get him”
When the CNN host asked if he meant the burglars were out to get him the NFL player referred to the police by stating….
“They were always waiting for him to litter or break a traffic law to get him.”

If you think he's a good writer read the syndicated column by Thomas Sowell (an African-American econmics professor). My favorite is his column "Are Cops Racist"? in which he completely disproves the concept of "Racial Profiling".
And you wonder why people believe there is a wall between the races. It is because of comments and beliefs like that that keep building the wall higher and higher. It is because of people who erect those walls and blame others for it that don't take responsibility for themselves or their families that there is a problem. The gov or social liberals can throw all the money in world at the percieved problems, at the wall, but unless those that hide behind it are willing to take responsibility, then nothing will ever be solved.

I'm tired of the media TRYING to make me feel guilty for being (1) a White Male (should count as 2), and (2) A POLICE OFFICER.
Just because I'm white, doesn't mean I'm racist against blacks, African Americans, Mexicans Americans, Asians, etc.

Jason Whitlock is 100% correct, only the black community can solve its own problems, and as a black person it takes courage for him to say what he said. Question is, where is Jesse Jackson Sr, Al Sharpton and the rest of the Civil Rights industry? Opportunity is there, all you have to do is have the desire to work to get it. As much as I don't like the illegal aliens that we are innundated with, at least they WORK, which is a concept alien to some people who's decendents have been here for 200 years. But it is easier to be a perpetual victim, demand your hand out and blame every one else, especially the white man for your problems.

I did, and you are correct, it was a very good read, and he is an intelligent man/reporter/scholar. Makes me wonder, does anyone know what college Moperah attended?? I am curious.

I heard Jason Whitlock interviewed on the radio the other day and he is a breath of fresh air amongst the gangrenous befoulment of the mainstream media.
What is pathetic and maddening is the fact that YOU HAVE TO BE BLACK in order to point out the fucking obvious, with regards to problems within the black community.
When I saw that Imus is back on the air - complete with 2 new black 'sidekicks' - and the news interviewed some bow-tie NOI member who said he was taking a "wait and see attitude" on whether Imus's show would change or be the status quo. Who made Jackson and Sharpton the people whose rings must be kissed in order to be "forgiven" for making an insensitive comment?
I thought it was interesting that Imus's first swipes were at two white people. His first on-air comment was, "Dick Cheney is still a war criminal, Hillary Clinton is still Satan and I'm back on the radio!"
The racial pandering by our elite media needs to stop. It does a huge disservice to our society, our laws and our citizens.

Anyone wishing to read a powerful commentary on today's state of black america got to the Trib and check out the commentary by Leonard Pitts. He is black and writes from the Miami Herald I believe. The piece is titled "This is How We Die." This guy is neither liberal or conservative. Just telling the truth. After reading this, you will no longer worry about Mary Mitchell and what she writes, just see what a race baiter she is.

I just read on the Fox News Home Page that a new triple-A baseball team in Allentown , PA had just dropped the name of Porkchop as their Mascots name because it "OFFENDED" Hispanics . What a croc-o-shit . I can't believe they actually changed the name . If I owned the team I sure wouldn't have done it. What's your take on this ?

Miss. Mitchell, I am a Chicago Police Officer, and the following is not meant to be offensive to you, but since you are a journalist I feel part of your job is constructive criticism. I am white and have been undercover for the last 12 years, working in ALL areas of the City. I have worked in diverse areas, and other areas that weren't so diverse, for example the Austin neighborhood. I have arrested or investigated people from 10 years old to 80 years old, EVERY ethnicity, not one in particular. I have led my District and Area in arrests, for numerous years, however I have also led in complaints against me, and have had a few law suits. I have NEVER planted drugs on someone, taken money, or beat someone. I always figured if I couldn't t catch them playing the game, there would be another time, and usually there was. I have spent the last few years working the West side where as you know 90% percent of the citizens are African American. That means that your Victim, Offender, Witnesses(when they want to cooperate),Callers, everyone you deal with is African American. Drug dealers don't like their drug business interfered with, they don t like their cars taken, their money inventoried, their family arrested, and they don t like going to jail. A LOT of the Police officers on the West Side are WHITE. You make arrests, you re going to get complaints. You make A LOT of arrests, you re going to get A LOT of complaints. You inventory $2000.00 from a drug dealer, the complaint will say they had $4000.00 on them. WE got a complaint from the Hispanic community that there were 5 bars selling a lot of Cocaine out of them. WE set up an operation, we arrest about 50 people, recover a bunch of money and drugs. The female bartender who is working and selling drugs at 3 of the bars is arrested 3 times for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. She files a federal lawsuit against EVERYONE involved for Civil Rights violations saying that we targeted her because she is Hispanic. Obviously the lawsuit got tossed out of court, but now thats on your record, for good. Luckily the heads of the hispanic community were involved and came to our defense, if not, someone like you would've wrote an article about the law suit without having ALL the facts circumstances which you do more than not. I have been involved with a dozen of these incidents involving all ethnicities. ALL these complaints are on my record now, and as I stated before because it NEEDS to be reiterated, I have NEVER planted drugs on someone, taken money, or beat someone. I have also never targeted someone because of their ethnicity. You go where the investigation takes you. If the community is complaining about drug dealing on the West side, unfortunately the dealer most likely will be African American. Do we take care of the drug problem for the community, or do we try to find some African American officers from somewhere else in the City to work it, because then it will be ok.???? I have become friends with numerous community leaders in the City, from ALL ethnic backgounds. If there is a problem, they know they can call, and if I can t help them, I ll give it to someone that can. And in return, when I have recieved numerous bogus complaints agasinst me, THEY ALL came to my defense. if I didn t have them on my side I probably would ve been suspended or had my name in your colum a long time ago.
I am in NO WAY sticking up for these idiots that are corrupt, and not playing by the rules, they are NOT the Police and I could care less about them, because they make the rest of us look bad. I don t want to work with these FOOLS, I LOVE being the Police. Helping people, and putting REAL bad guys in Jail., no matter what their ethnicity is.
HOWEVER, you sometimes right articles recklessly, and get the Community in an uproar WITHOUT knowing ALL the facts, and that adds to the problem, NOT the solution, unless that is your motive the entire time, not to help certain communities. YOUR comments about the new TOP COP are off a little. I don't know him, and my comments aren t necessarily about him. From my understanding he is in charge of the Philadelphia FBI Division. YOU keep talking about the crime and Murder rate over there. The FBI has NOTHING to do with MURDERS or VIOLENT CRIMES, NOTHING, unless asked by the local agency for assistance as in the examples of the Lisa Sebic or Stacey Peterson case. The POLICE department is responsible for CRIME, not the FBI. I have worked on the FBI Task force here in Chicago and have numerous friends in the FBI here. There Violent Crimes Squad DOES NOT work MURDERS or PREVENTIVE VIOLENT CRIMES. They work Bank robberies, Fugitive Apprehension, and ASSIST the local Agencies with Violent crimes. The Police Chief in Philly is AFRICAN AMERICAN, the NEW Police Cheif is African American (Ramsey, who is a good guy). I'm not saying its the fault of any police chief, change is good when the norm isn t working, whatever the problem. But if you re going to make statements, you should make ACCURATE statements, or you are no better than these corrupt people out here, tell the whole story, not just the part that FITS what you want people to know. I have been on numerous scenes with the media, and they RARELY get it right. Who do they run too after ANY situation, the grieving family, or the gang bangers on the corner.
There are A LOT of GOOD Police officers out there, but unfortuanately when some thing happens negative, WE all get lumped together, especially from people like you that does NOT have ALL the facts. You in such a rush to get the story out there, you miss A LOT.
I try to help ALL the communities, and I tell the truth in my job, you should try doing the same.
Can someone please let us know who the Stupid ass boss was that put Sgt. Moore-Powell (detailed 022 - cause no one else her) in as a meritorious Sgt? Where is the Commander of Responsibilty on this one? Who is the boss they are protecting? This Sgt is the dumbest one ever put on the steets. Why is no boss doing something about her? She stated in roll-call yesterday "when OEC gives you a job- no matter what it is that is what your case report should be" Last week she said, "All officers must write thier signatures neater" and kicked back every report telling the officers thats not your signature, sign it again. I'm not saying it's every white person, but it is true for many white people. And frankly, some blacks, no matter how degreed they are, will never reach an equal plateau in the field of employment. Does any one here truly believe that Mike Cronin was intelligent enough to not only jump to the head of the line and become a Commander, but to finish out his career as DEPUTY CHIEF? Does anyone here believe it could happen to a latino or a black? Yeah, I didn't either. Say what you want about Dana, at least he spent time moving up the ranks as Sgt., Lt., and Commander. What occurred for Cronin will never happen to a woman, a black or latino male in the near or far off future in the CPD.

There is no "black" community. The mostly black community is more multi-racial than black. These areas need to be cleaned of crime just as other areas. There is no black-on-black crime, there is just crime. Why are so many black men killing black men? Because killing black women doesn't count and white men seem to like killing white women more than white men too. As prior news stories tell - black and white men like killing black women, or did you not notice because they were not millionaire athletes?
