Mope-rah Starting to Crack
The pressure must be getting to her and her true colors are coming to the fore:
- Even with a shortage of eligible black men, it's unlikely that a crackhead from Englewood had consensual sex with police Sgt. John Herman.
Why would it be unlikely? She is approached for a relationship based on money - money she needs for a crack habit. Does Mope-rah have any idea what people who need a fix that badly will do? Would Mope-rah like a list?

Imagine the howls of outrage from Mope-rah's should a white columnist describe the aforementioned crackhead as "big lipped" or "flat nosed" or "giant booty" or any other body stereotypes that assorted narrow-minded fools use to generalize and dehumanize an entire race of people. But Mope-rah can use beady eyes (common criminal feature in most classic crime writing), Nazi (Germanic/Aryan ancestry - therefore racist) or double chin (anti-fat people).
- What crack addict would agree to have sex with an unattractive Chicago Police officer unless some drugs were involved? And if Herman was having consensual sex with the woman, he darn sure was helping her with her $100-a-day habit.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Mope-rah. And a crack addict isn't looking at how pretty someone is - they're looking at how much money they can get out of the encounter.
Obviously, a person is innocent until proven guilty, and Herman hasn't been convicted of rape.
Still, how in the heck does a married police sergeant have consensual sex with a crack addict -- while on duty, no less -- and not get booted off the force?
Um...due process? Presumption of innocence? Trial by jury? Any of this ring a bell Mopey? We mean, you state "a person is innocent until proven guilty," and then you expect him to be fired absent a court finding of guilt? First of all, you seem to miss a major point. Mope-rah is not asking "why would the woman have sex with him?" (which you seem to think she's asking, since you answer that she was doing it for money.)
Mope-rah is saying "Of course it was either for money, for not arresting her for something, or possibly rape, because she clearly didn't have sex with the guy just because she really, really thought he was cute." In other words, your silly sarcastic response is actually repeating Mope-rah's point.
Second, in reference to the officer still being paid, she's not asking "why hasn't he been thrown in jail for raping her?" -- a context in which your response "what about trial by jury and innocent till proven guilty?" might make some sense.
No, she's pointing out that the guy got out of his squad car during his shift to go have sex with a crackhead who he saw on the street, and admits it, and that that is a fireable offense.

That said, John Herman is an idiot and what he did...what he admitted to is so stupid as to defy belief. Another black eye that we all have to live with, and try to explain when asked about it. At least us cat'licks, Irish and Italians do not inter-breed with our mothers and sisters. We do not destroy our living areas, we respect each other and the property of others, and we do not need to progress- progression is a way of life.

I am writing to protest and demand the public discipline or dismissal of Mary Mitchell. She has increasingly hid her racist views in her columns for years through the use of clever language and code words. Today’s column is blatantly racist through the use of code words- nazi, beady eyes, unattractive. These code words just demonstrate her racism and hatred of Caucasians. I am posting a copy of this letter and emailing it, along with a link to the article to as many people, organizations, blogs, and other papers- your competitors- as I can.
No Caucasian reporter or columnist would be allowed to get away with this. They would not be allowed to use inflammatory language or code words, as Mary Mitchell does on a constant basis. They would have to use neutral language in describing people of other races. Mary Mitchell has been given free reign to proclaim her racism for too long and it is time for the Sun Times to put a stop to it.
I am going to demand that unless she publicly apologizes, she be fired. Others in the media have been fired or disciplined and made to apologize for less than this. A group of friends are currently analyzing her past columns and will be pointing out publicly all of the racist elements in them.
She is not objective, she has no ethics, and her “keeping it real hood attitude” is insulting and spiteful. Ms. Mitchell is a racist. There is no doubt. She has no place in the media or on your Editorial Board.

I wrote the Editor in Chief of the Sun Times complaining about the racist tone and insensitivity of Mary Mitchell’s Columns. Ms. Mitchell is allowed to make racially insensitive remarks in her columns with abandon and nothing is done about it. No other columnist could get away with what Ms. Mitchell does. Reporters, columnists, and others have been disciplined or even fired just for perceived racially insensitive remarks and comments. Journalists have been made to apologize for way less than what Ms. Mitchell writes. Yet week after week, she is allowed to insult and make remarks that are insulting.
Ms. Mitchell is totally unrepentant in her racism. It is not perceived, except for the clever use of the English language she employs. She makes her dislike for Caucasians apparent constantly. I am not alone in this opinion. I have talked to several others who feel the same way- Black and White. I have read comments from others who are insulted by Ms. Mitchell’s constant attacks.
Ms. Mitchell needs to be disciplined and or fired. At the very least, the very least, she should be made to apologize publicly for her insensitivity. She displays a total lack of ethics, shame and decency.
It is my understanding from Mr. Cooke, the Editor in Chief, that none of that will happen. I am requesting that all of her past columns be audited for racially insensitive language and that she be held accountable for her atrocious conduct, just like other journalists have. I am also requesting that her future columns be edited to eliminate racially insensitive language, clever code words, and out right racism.
The Chicago Sun Times is a metropolitan newspaper. It is not a Black paper, White paper, or paper catering to any single ethnic or racial group. It is a city paper. The city of Chicago is a virtual melting pot of races, ethnicities, and religions. The Sun Times is supposed to cater to all of us; or so I thought.
