Brookins - Slumlord
Before Ald. Howard Brookins had trouble as a tenant, he got into trouble as a landlord.
Brookins, seeking the Democratic nomination for Cook County state's attorney, faced three lawsuits filed by the City of Chicago in the late 1990s arising from his ownership of properties on the South Side, records show. The suits alleged Brookins failed to provide heat and committed other infractions of the municipal code -- nearly a decade before he allegedly failed to pay rent on his downtown law office.
As helpfully pointed out by a number of readers, this is the jagoff campaigning on the pledge to "indict one police officer a month." Remember to tell all your voting age relatives in Cook County - he's not running against crime; he's running on the perception that police cause the crime.

i don't think it matters who gets in. we are not going to get a play from sa's office anymore. i used to hear "chicago's finest" all the time on radio when going somewhere in my car. now i very rarely hear it said. i've noticed some of my civilian friends also have kind of shyed away. the media has made people think we are all bad. 20 and out if i can. 2 to go.
Brookins has to earn my vote. I don't see any effort on his partto do so.

Brookins also has some child support problems that may be coming out soon. Seems he be a baby daddy that dont like to write baby momma her support check.
Tom Allen doesn't look that bad for States Attorney.

Stop bowing down to these dumb ass lawyers. They are not our friends. Also, stop using your personal cell phone to make notifications while on duty from a scene. Let weiss issue cell phones to us. Get the cell phone out of your name and get it in someone else's name. Make it harder for the department.

WRONG... "Tony the Mouth" is a softball security guard at McCormick Place. He is NOT a retired sergeant. He is a wannabe who sells all sorts of useless CPD related crap and makes up fake stories for the descriptions of the auction items. I fell for his line of crap once. Lucky for me I wasn't taken for a large amount of money.
Retired Sergeant Tony from ZJ Sales is a nice man who would much rather talk your ear off when you come into his store than try to sell you something.
Tom Allen is a very good choise for S.A. Pro police.......what else needs to be said!

I agree but will anyone join! Hey boys and girls if you have short time and college, move on this dept is a total train wreck and it looks like the new boss will wreck it even more! Get with a progressive dept!

Check with your court officer/court sergeant you ignorant prick. A subpoena goes out once then the ASA follows a new notification procedure through the court sgt. liaison. If you don't show you will get deviated. That might make things a little harder on you. When you don't show don't bitch that the ASAs can't try a case or it got reduced to a lesser charge cause your lazy fucking ass couldn't come to court. And by the way, shove your cell phone up your ass.
Tony Peraica is the obvious choice for CC State's Attorney. He has made a career of exposing corruption and if elected would have the power to put those corrupt officials in jail.
With such a crowded field of SA candidates one possible outcome is:
Tom Allen
Bob Milan
Larry S.
All split the "White Vote".
Anita Al. - Gets the woman / hispanic vote.
Brookins and Brewer split the Black vote, with Brookins winning overall.
Strong Black vote will turn out to vote for Obama.
Brookins vs. Peraica
For my money it will be a lesser of two evils.
Peraica gets my vote.

I see it is very easy to piss off you asa's on here.. Answer just one question.. Why is it that Court is Scheduled to start at 0900 or 9 am for you civilians. Yet You asa's never walk into the court room until 1000am! Why is that? Its ok for everyone else to get there when they want except for us police. And youwonder why there is a rift between us..
Allen pro-police? All he's talking about is the Burge case. Maybe if he had an original idea on how to improve the office NOW, and not 25 years ago, I'd vote for him. Periaca is a drunken moron but if it came down to him and Crookins, ugh, I shudder to think. Milan acts like he's running for King; half of the office would probably quit if he wins. I think Alvarez is the only one running who really just wants and enjoys the job; everyone else is just doing it for politcial gain. I hope people put some thought into this election. Crookins vs. Perdrunka is the WORST possible scenario.
These are the very reasons that our next State's Attorney needs to be someone who'll go after blatant violations of State Law like a pit bull after bloody, raw meat.
Tony Peraica sort of resembles a pit bull, let's turn him loose on the hogs.
