- Maybe now Mayor Daley and the Chicago Shitty Council will shut the hell up. We're long sick of hearing them chant "crime is down." Sure, it's down alright, and I'm the King of Prussia.
Mayor Daley, the dumbest asshole to ever be the mayor of a big city, has personal bodyguards who are armed to the teeth. With guns, folks, guns. Are YOU allowed to carry a gun for personal protection? No sirree, Asshole Daley and the Shitheads on the City Council say that you aren't qualified to own a gun in Chicago, let alone carry one. Heavens, if people carried guns, why, something bad might happen! We wouldn't want the good guy to shoot the bad guy first, would we?

Watch the fall out from gang tact units. They are going to be adjusting their hours big time soon to stem the violence. In the past most guys would deal with it because they could still go out and do police work without being under a microscope. They are going to expect these guys and gals to be very aggressive and bring in the numbers and stem the violence. Most are tired of the bullshit and will either be moved for lack of production or will leave on their own. In the past you felt that at least you would get some court time but nowadays who wants to go to court and be fronted by a ASA and better yet scolded by some judge as the real criminal walks out of court to steal, rape, rob or murder again....
Still a proud Copper just waiting for the 180 degree turn to do the job again.
At the last recruit graduation ceremony, mayor daley berated politicians in Washington DC and the Capital as being the safest places in the US with all of their security carrying guns and that politicians were out of touch with gun laws because they were so protected. But the hypocrite failed to say that he is the safest citizen in Shitcago with free taxi service for himself and his adult children because they have 20 bodyguards that are patrol officers illegally making sergeants pay. He has more guns around him than anyone I know. What a f'in hypocrite!
If things aren't that bad why? SWAT on the street and the movement of all these people?

Set up an email address J-Fed or a mailing address that goes directly to your desk, to your hands. Yeah will you get a bunch of sarcasim and crazy shit but you'll get the brunt of actual concerns and solutions that the troops on front lines have to offer you to make ALL our jobs better and to make this city great as it once was. think about it. keep it anonomyous so people will keep it real with you. give it a chance and you'll fix all the wrongs, believe me.

Hey SCC, before you climb into bed with this moron, why don't you read his take on the incident Tuesday night at 7363 N. Damen. As someone that was on scene, I can tell you this guy is nothing but a pain in the ass scanner-dork who shows up with his scanner-dork buddies at any incident that "sounds big", and begins bothering every officer on scene asking "hey, what's going on???" He's just another naive asshat who thinks we are in the customer service field and need to serve & protect with a big freakin' smile on our faces the whole time. If I were you, I'd be careful to praise a guy who devotes an entire entry to how he has lost almost all respect for the police simply because we weren't "nice" to him.

Tragic, sad, and immoral, yes, but not illegal.
It is the pay rate they receive in the title of Government Security Specialist, which is equivalent to Sergeant of Police. They have a different title code than ours, but I do not have it handy at the moment.
Their title code is not Police Officer-9161, or even Police Officer Assigned As (?)-916(?) or Sergeant of Police-9171.
Also, with that title, all of their pay is pensionable, unlike working out of grade, which is not pensionable.
Trickee Dickee and his budget bandits have their shit covered on this one. Smooth, crafty, reprehensible, like three card monte? Yes, but not illegal.

The real political driving force behind the "smoke and mirrors" on the "North Pole" is the speculators and real estate developers. They lose money every day that their property doesn't sell. The cost of money, interest eats away at the profit and cash flow of these developers. A crew from Michigan came in and did a nice rehab. A lot of outside players coming into RP.
RP will never change. Too densely populated. Many Section 8 contracts extended for more than 20 years. A lot of absentee land owners. See a lot of nice condos that were listed for $170K-200K now available for high end rent. These are being placed on the rental market in RP by developers that need quick money...NOW.

Hang in there. City will hire 100 recruits soon. That will be the answer to the shortage on the street! Of course they will graduate at end of the year. Cut jobs through attrition. 600 retire a year and city hires 100 recruits. This is a crime.

I love cops, but not all of them. The jerkoff who wrote the following, for example, was a total asshole. While that fuck was standing around playing bigshot with old ladies and children, I and another blogger were trying to get information FOR those women and children. Love my retirement! Having coffee with Michigan coppers that said most of the guns they recover are from dumb-asses from Chicago. They said due to Michigans C&C laws bad guys are too scared to pull guns on anyone who will more than likely be a better shot than them! There are gun classes and competitions with (very good) prizes all over the place for licensed C&Cs.
