French Surrender - Again
Of course, we've never expected much from the French authorities:
- Paris' Olympic torch relay descended into chaos Monday, with protesters scaling the Eiffel Tower, grabbing for the flame and forcing security officials to repeatedly snuff out the torch and transport it by bus past demonstrators yelling "Free Tibet!"
The relentless anti-Chinese demonstrations ignited across the capital with unexpected power and ingenuity, foiling 3,000 police officers deployed on motorcycles, in jogging gear and even inline skates.
The English police on the other hand, kept things in hand:
- LONDON (AP) - Police repeatedly scuffled with protesters as Olympians and dignitaries carried the Olympic torch through snowy London during a chaotic relay Sunday.
- Police Cmdr. Jo Kaye called the incidents minor. "It's going to be a long day but the torch is progressing on schedule," Kaye told British Broadcasting Corp. television.
And it's another month of protests before the torch even reaches mainland China. Today, the run goes through San Francisco and the police there are already publishing fake maps of the route. We can hardly wait for the 2016 Torch Run.

As far as I understand as a neutral french resident, the world community should understand one thing that, it is not the french people who hate China or Chinese Regime. To speak the truth, 57% french people eat chinese dinner every day in Paris only. Their protestation is solely based on the human right issue that came after the ruthless attacks by chinese police against the peaceful tibetans in Lhasa some weeks ago. And again a merciless respond of chinese authorities in connection with resolving their internal issues with the peaceful leader Dalai Lama.
After all, tibetans are chinese citizens, tibet is a part of China. But still the tibetans are treated like street dogs or treated as independentists.
They definitely deserved a human respect as a chinese citizen and freedom of speech, liberty and so on.
The chinese authorities can no longer keep their eyes shot. They should react positively, the sooner, the better.
The french people love democracy, liberty, human rights, freedom. So the people who demonstrated were actually asking freedom, liberty on behalf of the poor and helpless tibetan people in China.
Therefore, the question of hatred does not arise here. China is a beatiful country competing with the western world in terms of economic development, international commerce. But in order to win european hearts and gain more popularity CHINA & chinese people still need to change their attitudes and their way of treating their own citizens as third class beggers.
This is only the begining. We have seen only 3 protests so far. The worst still has to come when it goes to US, South America, India. Therefore, Chinese authorities should use their heads instead of hatred.
For God's Sake! Save the Olympic image! Save the Human Respect! Save the Poor Tibetans!

I recall years ago having been detaled to some type of an event on Michigan Ave. in front of the Art Institute. There were numerous people with signs that had Free Tibet on them. After talking to some of the other guys on the detail I walked up to one of them holding the sign and asked for 6 Tibets one for myself and 5 for the other guys. Never got one, by the way anyone know what a tibet is?
So--where were the protests against saddum husian and now the jerk in iran. Oh yeah the Chinese are not jacking with the US

Think back to 1994 (World Cup Soccer)! It blew big time. The city spent BIG MONEY for that event and took a bath when NOBODY showed up. They even built a temporary bridge (1 Million wasted) for pedestrians over Lake Shore Drive which NOBODY used because they were allowed to walk across the Drive and tie up traffic anyway (thanks to CPD Brass).
If Daley can spend millions for this crap (1 event), why not spend money for our local parks so that kids can use them all year long?
2016 will end right here in beautiful chicago and you typical fat out of shape cry baby ass clowns will be taking up all the overtime slots... what a sham the city should do a survey are you for or are you against in the rues of a real survey (cops are dumb... will answer honestly against) and then use that to distribute overtime. If you support the games, you get overtime. If you didnt, you dont. And the union wouldnt have any say, they never do. So, yes, we will be getting the games, I will be getting overtime, I will not be crying about the traffic because I dont plan on going to washington park any time soon, and I am not worried the taxes will go up as it is funded by private donations. Eat shit old timers hopefully you expire prior to 2016 and our pension is better funded
