Go 010th District!

Say what you want about the 010 District, they keep on trying until they get better at it.

Thursday, they fire a few rounds at an honor student running around with a gun, miss him, but get the gun and his sorry ass.

Saturday morning, they catch someone firing a gun, and when he won't drop it, they wound him before taking him into custody and recovering the weapon:
  • Police wounded a person in a shooting early Saturday on the Southwest Side’s Little Village neighborhood.

Police shot a person in the 2600 block of South Kedzie Avenue about 2 a.m., police said. Police observed a person firing a weapon, and then fired shots.

And once again, no drama. Great job all around.

How is 10 to work in? There are never any openings. How are the bosses? Is there a problem getting time off?

Well im glad my fellow blue shirts came thru these events unscathed.

I do wonder if we need to practice our shooting skills a little more than our yearly qualifications. I ask this question because if and when a lawsuit is filed and the city caves in and settles it for an undisclosed amount of money.

Is it cheaper to kill an armed offender or wound one of them?

Good job by 10th dist P.O's. P.O's from 3rd watch were on scene even though it was past 2am. while all this was going on, there was an inspector walking through the parking lot and inside the station looking for quick mover.

From someone who knows firsthand of what ocurred saturday morning, let me just say how GREAT it was to see everyone working so hard to make sure things were done the right way. From the Crime Lab, the Deputy, crime scene protection, gathering witnesses, the DICKS....FOP.....
Those to young officers chased down a vicious felon armed with a gun...Check out his rap sheet. They lierally chased him down a dark alley. Be safe 10th Disrict and everyone else.

it must suck being a sgt in this dist. paper up the ass and never going home on time. don't worry, a few years down the road you will be named in a law suit because junior was traumitized that the police shot at him when all he was trying to do was a simple armed robbery. you never offered him water or gave him a hug. and then j-fed will agree that you were insensitive to the little mutt and give you a thirty day vacation. cpd equals pussies-r-us. anyone disagree?????????

Just happy everyone went home safe. Speaking of the number 10, how about 10 hour days for EVERYONE? Dont let FOP drop the ball on this one, this would be the best thing to happen to this department in quite a long time.

God bless o10, thankfully all officers were ok! We are in for a wild ride this summer lets just pray cpd officers are protected, both by vests and by the new boss! Wishful thinking I know we are all we have, with the way daley and his crew have weakened cpd! proactive police work is done for me, the only work I do is write paper and back each other up! Sorry want to get my pension.not end up like an idiot stripped in call back, not sued anymore! thanks daley for ruining a once proud and respected dept.!

ill tell you what, there was also an inspector on scene, and this guy is probably one of the best copper, sgt to come out of sos. hell do nothing but compliment you on a job well done. and i bet inspector pena already wrote the complimentary letter to the two coppers involved in the shooting. on a different note, zone ten is gonna be like working in hell this summer. crime and homicides up the ass and you know what, its gonna feel good having the old zone back maybe all shitheads will finally get it right and and do the job right by offing eachother while we just sit on the sidelines. be careful and be proud of working in zone 10, just make sure that you and your partner go home safe every night. great job so far scc.

Say what you want about the 010 District? Waddya mean? Who ever sez anything bad about 010? Great place to work, great cops, good mix of new young aggressive guys and gals, non-elitist oldtimers, friendly supportive bosses and lots of work so great place to learn and get experience.

Say what you want about the 010 District? I say ROCK ON!

We should start firing more shots.

After all, if you fire one round or five, it's still the same amount of paper. Make it worth your while!

The Airports are the best place to work.
Plenty of overtime.
Great sargents and liutenants. Excellent vehicles in good shape. Plenty of places to eat at a good price,
friendly people at the USO.
Ohare has duty free shopping for discounted boose and midway (rand) gives away cases of boose for x-mas.
If you are tight with the timekeepers, you might get a few extra hours on the books or have your OT calculated at FLSA for a bigger kick.
So, fellow officers; stop working hard out there and get ahold of your juice/clout to get you detailed to the airports. They are short of personnel and the OT is plentiful.
See you soon!

You got that right, don't forget the bitch dispatcher, Marissa, God's gift to dispatchers. Bad enough we work in the shit hole that is 010 and 011, they give us this dispatcher who always has a smart ass comment and cries like chicken little when there are jobs pending, like she is the one answering them. Bring back Gina and Dawn!!!!

Give it up ! He out smarted I.A.D and the Dumb Ass bosses on the scene. A person's good work does in the end, become overshadowed by the bullshit he chose to do. Miedzianowski, "pacman" , Finn and the sos crew were all "great coppers" at one time. They stopped when their bullshit started. So stop kissing J.K.'s ass on a public log -- just let it go away.

I wonder if "I have seen the light" was hitting his crack pipe a little too heavy re: the airport. I have worked there for 10 years, and there is NO free booze, NO good restaurants, NO Police Discounts on duty free, you cannot even walk in there (even in uniform) without a boarding pass for an overseas flight. Imagine some $10 an hour jerk asking you to leave? Kiss my ass.
The bosses? Please, the good ones have retired. The only true statement is that the people at the USO are friendly. The Dept. of Aviation and their 500 Commissioners are a bunch of political hacks, goofs who think YOU work for THEM personally. It is a nice place to work after you get tired of pushing a beat car around the ghetto for 20 years, but it is still police work, and we don't just get the neighborhood jagoffs, we get INTERNATIONAL jags, plus Pookie and all the rest that work out there.
You can work you day off, but some of us would rather have a life.

4/13/2008 08:18:00 PM"

"Did I fire six shots or only five? To tell you the truth, I forgot it myself in all this excitement.", Inspector Harry Callaghan.

It's not the number of shots fired, it's the number and quality of the hits. So practice, practice and practice.

Stay safe, and "ask yourself the question, do you feel lucky?"

To: "Good job 010th district officers in blue. I was just curious, where was your tact and or gang team? Or do they suck like they do every where else and we no where to be found?"

From someone who was there. The offender got out of a van and shot at a gang banger who was throwing up signs at a gas station. When the 10th District P.O.s drove up on this goof he tried to get back into the van but they took off on him. (So much for loyalty!) Two or three M/4s bailed out of the van a few blocks away. You didn't see the gang or tact teams on the shooting scene because they were looking for....

Thank God all our guys went home safe!

tac and gang temas were looking for the m/4 's that fled the scene and then bailed out of the van. dumb ass. quit hating
