- A couple fighting about which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join caused a public disturbance that resulted in the father's arrest, Commerce City [Colorado] police said Thursday.
- His girlfriend told police that they had been arguing about the upbringing of their son and which gang he should belong to. The teen mother, who is black, is a member of the Crips. Manzanares is Hispanic and belongs to the Westside Ballers gang, the woman said.
- "They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised. Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would 'claim,'" Sandoval said.

I suggest that the naming rights tradition be continued in another fashion. I suggest that the next new prison opened in the State of Illinois carry the name the Richard M Daley Correctional Center for Political Corruption.
Perhaps then corporate sponsors can be found for, let's say the "Allstate" Maximum Security "D" Block or the Ariel Capital Management Solitary Confinement Wing or even the Aon Insurance Prison Cafeteria.

No amount of money will cure the gang problem. If a kid is unfortunate and is born to less than stellar parent(s) and lives in the poorer neighborhoods, gang life is inevitable. The younger kids can not walk to the store (robbed or beat up). When they get older they see the glam of rap videos and fast money earned selling drugs. They then learn in order to get "RESPECT" carry a gun and be willing to use it and accept every body has got to die. Lots of kids have to live with gramma or great gramma who is too old to be aggressively involved in their lives. Daley needs to quit with all the bullshit spending and go straight to the source..... ask blacks who came from these neighborhoods who are now successful adults how they survived. Damn near every one that I have spoken to had parents who were heavily involved in their upbringing and seldom let them out on the street. Did anyone see the new order mandating on traffic stops that ALL officers WILL identify themselves by rank and name and inform the motorist of the reason for the stop BEFORE asking for license and insurance?
That is a revision to a department order, it is now the law of the land for we CPD officers. Don't do it and you risk suspension or getting fired. My solution is simple, I don't stop anyone any more, my time is short. Others are not so lucky.

Ten year old Rikki Triana is in a Pennsylvania hospital with a broken hip. She had surgery on Friday and had to have three pins inserted into her right hip bone to keep them together. Police have placed two girls, ages 10 and 11, in a juvenile facility. Rikki Triana says she had taken her little sister to the playground last Tuesday. She explains that the two girls were splashing her younger sister with water. When she asked them to stop, they splashed her and then attacked her. they pulled her from the monkey bars and stomped her head and legs. Adults nearby noticed what was going on, and the two girls ran off.
Lisa Triana, Rikki's mother, arrived a short time later, just before. Rikki went into shock. doctors say that the attack will have long-term affects on the young girl as she grows. More surgeries and a hip replacement are very likely. Watch the report from CBS Affiliate WSEE's John Treanor.

Those "meter maids" in Oak Lawn tried to jam one of our guys. Reported him to his supervisors on a off duty intoxication allegation. I know this copper, he's a straight up guy.
