Quick Hits

  • Chicago Public School officials announced on Monday night that three more students had been shot. Now concerned school officials are looking to Springfield for funds to keep students safe.
  • For school board president Rufus Williams, the drive to Springfield is an annual pilgrimage to get more money. But this year, Chicago Public School student bring a new urgency to this trip.
  • Between now and the middle of May, as many as 16 high school groups were planned to go to Springfield to endorse safety for Chicago schools and stricter gun laws.
Because it's not the bats or the complete lack of family structure or a general disregard for rules, basic respect for the law and a willingness to abide by societal norms - it's the guns.

Suburban oddity:
  • A 55-year-old Crystal Lake man was found chained by the neck in the basement of a burning home Tuesday, police said. After the man was rescued from the building, he told police that he had been confined in the basement of his own free will and was not a victim of a crime, Crystal Lake Police Deputy Chief Dennis Harris said. "He's not elaborating on the unusual circumstances," Harris said. "We have some doubts about the veracity of his story. We are still investigating why he was where he was and is saying what he says."
Uh huh. Right.

And as soon as the Supreme Court strikes down blanket gun bans, get ready for a whole bunch of these headlines:
  • The parents of a 14-year-old boy say the teen was shot and killed while invading a home in north central Illinois.

Authorities say 14-year-old Travis Castle of Durand entered the home along with two other young men. Police say the three wore white hooded sweat shirts as they broke a window and entered the house, located near the village of Stillman Valley.

Ogle County Sheriff Greg Beitel says the owner wasn't there, but a house guest hid in a bedroom with a loaded handgun. The sheriff said the guest fired at one of the three in a narrow hallway before calling 911.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. At least we won't be paying for this jagoff's upkeep over the next six decades.

Off topic but you might want to hear this, it may tell explain the path our new regime is taking with the department.

When Mike Shield took over for Johnh Risley he told the officers at TRU that everything was going great, but a few things might get treeked.

First they dump a popular commander, and a unpopular Assist. Deputy. Next they divide the platoons in half. Then on Tuesday Shield meets with the FOP and advises them that the city plans on offering the unit a ten hour day schedule, ten hours thursday - sunday,( RDO'S MON-WED.) No rotating RDO's.

The FOP stands up to him and tells them there is no way they will go along with that, and that again it is a contractual issue, to bring it up at contract talks. Shield walks out.

Now we are hering that even though the Commander, T Williams has stated we will not be down sized, all the officers detailed, approximately 120, will be sent back to districts, this may happen as soon as change day. In adition they may not be sent to there original districts at first.

Now you may or may not like TRU, but you better watch out, because this administration does not give a rats ass about our contract or our personal lifes, and they will do whatever they need to do to better themselves.

Let's keep busing the CPS kids to Springfield for "gun control."

This is about money, tens of millions of dollars for schools.

To call it "gun control" is ridiculous.

I'm a retired CPD guy living out in the boonies near Rockford, Il. I talked with an ISP trooper who was on scene. The 14 yr old was from the small town of Durand, Il and raised on a small farm with 3 brothers and sisters. Small town school, small town living. somewhere, somehow this kid ended up running with some homies from the housing projects in Rkfd. How he made this transition is a mystery, but they were trying to steal the homeowners gun collection. A male guest staying at the house, while the owner recovered from an auto accident and had been hospitalized, confronted the home invader and drilled him twice in the chest. He was 14 so the only pix on t.v. were of his 8th grade gradutation. They had already removed a bunch of pistols and rifles from the home and had them stacked up in the rear yard. The other 2 offenders fled and are now being looked for.
And, for all of the inquiring minds out there, I don't miss living in Chicago !!

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Can it be supposed that those who have the courage to violate the most sacred laws of humanity ... will respect the less important and arbitrary ones ... Now you may or may not like TRU, but you better watch out, because this administration does not give a rats ass about our contract or our personal lifes, and they will do whatever they need to do to better themselves.
----------------------

First off, TRU is not a unit subject to bid. Everyone there is on management. They have no contractual right to stay in the unit. They can be moved at any time for any reason. They should go back to their unit of assignment, but they can still be detailed for 3 months anywhere the department wants them.

This was Cline's invention. Create numerous detailed units to get around contractual obligations. This way the department has officers who do their bidding or else they get dumped.

The department wants them to work every weekend. The FOP said no. Now officers are going to get dumped.

WHAT THE F$%K DID YOU EXPECT?

If there was any solidarity among officers, this stuff wouldn't happen. When the department opens new management units, young guys crawl over each other trying to get in. What officers should say is NO, we won't go into your new unit unless its open to bid and the contract applies.

But that way guys with less than 3 years would actually have to build some senority before getting in. They don't want to that, so now they're getting screwed.

TOUGH!

Hey SCC...I have an idea??

How about we send you pictures showing what the inside of our squad cars look like.

My squad has 80,000 miles on it and half the interior molding is missing. Wires everywhere. Dirty filthy windows. The squad cars all have different equipment.

Some of the squads can operate the siren from the horn....others are not wired the same way making you take a hand from the wheel to operate your siren. Some turn the wigwags on from the high beam switch others have a toggle switch. Typical half assed work from the city.

Since the F(L)OP wont do anything but kiss daleys ass maybe we can stir up some stuff??

I wonder where all that funding for us went??? Any thoughts??

FUCK NO!!! It's Darwinism my man. Only the strong servive. If your moral compass is wacked, if your laurels are skewed, if your dumbass needs a gun to be tough...FUCK YOU AND DIE!!! Laws aren't going to change or save a single kid out there. Parents puttig their feet deep up in Jr's ass will.

If you can't monitor your kids, don't have them. There's nothing wrong with being single, high and stupid your whole life. Just don't procreate and you're fine. Don't infect the rest of the world with your polluted genes.

Enough of that. Laws don't save people, Cops do!
