HQ Sabotaged?

The I-CLEAR system was down for 8-10 hours Sunday because of word of an explosion in the computer room. Now it seems that something more sinister was afoot:
  • Why were ETs called to recover evidence?
  • Why was the building locked down for hours?
What's happening at HQ?

The persons in charge were unable to complete a switch to paper arrests. So instead the department issued out an Overtime event number and let PO's stay an extra tour while they waited for the computers to be fixed. I guess all the bosses with all there rules can't even come up with a legitimate back up plan in for this kind of event. How much did that cost in OT because they have no plan. Where is the accountability. O'yea clout bosses are not accountable!!!! in the city that works.

This is done for a reason Remember when we all had to get New employee numbers about 4 years ago. My understanding was the dept was able to do away with information SOMEONE might need. The medical section was able to loose files in regards to IOD'S a word to the wise keep copies and files otherwise if you need them for whatever reason the dept will then claim they know nothing. You will be surprised at what a white shirt will put in your employee or medical files without your knowledge yet until you need those files you will never know . Request copies every couple of years VIA the freedom of information act keep them in a safe place.98% of us do not do it. I did some years back sure enough I had false negative remarks place in my file's. Protect your selfs boys and girls.

Number of civilian deaths on streets of Chicago in month of March: 36.

Does this mean that Obama will begin calling for a surrender and pull out of City of Chicago forces from streets of Chicago too?

It is more dangerous to be a citizen on the streets of Chicago than being on a tour of duty in Iraq.

When will the pullout from Chicago begin?? Oh, i forgot, most of the killings occur in the district that Obama represented as a state senator.

The news I read was 19 soldiers in Iraq in May, of which 14 or 15 were combat related. Lets go with 14.

14 over 140000 U.S. troops in the country is .01%

36 Chicagoans over a population of 2.9 million (approximate) is .0012%

Here's the truth behind the computer debacle at HQ:

JFED was courteous enough to engage in reach-arounds while systematically anally christening the latest round of merit sergeants. The resulting discharges gummed-up the worn, delicate circa-1980 computer systems that Mayor Daley paid 400 times too much for.

6/02/2008 11:03:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

There was an incident in the computer room. The Halon Gas which is installed in case of a fire discharged, unknown why it did so. The electrical system is designed to shut down in the event of a fire so there is no juice going to the serveres and other equipment. An RD was pulled and an ET was requested to locate any prints on the manual release switch for the Halon Gas.
Do a PCAD search, it will give you the event and RD Number.

The departments response was pretty dismal, just goes to show you how dependant they've become on technology.

The city has spent so much on outdated computer systems bought from clout heavy so-called "minority" businesses and then let new servers sit in storage room and not installed until they are obsolete.

First digital mug shot system was also a scam and no good and was replaced quickly after. That was bought from Sayers Computer Co. Yes, as in Gale. Do you really think Gale Sayers owned and operated the thing? He was a minority front man for the clout guys, as usual. Feds didn't notice that one.

--Both of you nut jobs are wrong.
14 soldiers out 140000 is .1%--

14 is not .1% of 140000.

If it were, than 1% of 140000 would be 140, 10% of 140000 would be 1400, and 100% of 140000 would be 14000.

The first guy might be Daley's votecounter, but I'm betting you are the guy in charge of payrolls.

Otherwise, I sorta agree with you about the differing bases for comparison.

SCC, would you consider maybe adding math to the list of banned items? These guys are giving me a headache.

OFF TOPIC POST FROM 025

Dear brothers and sisters:

What will the city do to Massheimer and Knickrehm. They were the two guys who did the paper on th Abate incident? According to the victim (the bartender) she told the R.O.'s that he was a cop, according to the R.O.'s no she did not.

I work in 025 and both of those guys on 2514 are good, honest and ethical cops. There is no way in hell that they would stick up for a piece of shit like Abate. No fucking way.

I hope that they get a fair shake in this deal and nothing happens to them. I hope Jody doesn't get involved in this matter by throwing those two good P.O.'s under the bus. If they do, I will be very pissed.

Hey Jagoff! Uh! Don't confuse Bridgeport with Canaryville! Totally different animal.

You must be the Sissy North Side, drunk ass Cub fan that has pissed on a few lawns in your time.

Hey do you know how to tell the difference between Bridgeport with Canaryville! In Bridgeport they take the dishes out of the kitchen sink before they piss in it.

Mr. SouthSide says---

Please do not confuse Canaryville with Bridgeport.

1. We speak a form of English, though not always legible, but still English.

2. No Chinese restaurants nor coffee shops.

3. We have a high school second to none (Tinley). In what they are first in, I have no idea.

HALON

Someone pulled an alarm on the third floor in the computer room, and everything got sprayed with the powder that they use for electricial fires (I forget what the stuff is called, but it is in all of the new buildings).

Yes, I've pissed on lawns, I've pissed on bushes. I've pissed on women, children, weirdos, big strapping guys, Sox fans and Cubs fans and just about everything that walks or crawls and I'm here to piss in you SCC for what you did to my friend J-Fed.

Actually pissing on Cubs fans was alot more fun than Sox fans although they did enjoy it too. Most actually thought they pissed in their own pants, they didn't know the difference.

"Try processing an arrest when it hits midnight, its a damn joke. Go back to paper, shit was way faster and easier."

True, or why not take the replica of the paper arrest report and put it in computer form.

It would be easier to read and only one page for info/facts by the A/O, and another page for lock-up keeper's observations.

Hey SCC,

Once and for all, let's clarify the difference between those who reside in Bridgeport vs. those who call Canaryville home:

The people in Bridgeport take the dishes out of the sink BEFORE they piss in it.

I agree wholeheartedly. I feel that with all the recent nonsense (Abate incident, Jefferson Park and grill, the SOS scandal, etc...), the city will be hard on us cops if we are implicated in something dubious in which we did not do anything wrong. I hope those two guys get a fair shake and the city doesn't screw them. BTW, that Polish bartender is an illegal alien and she should be deported ASAP.

4 days on 2 days off sucks...I had that schedule for several years when I worked at the CCDOC. I'll take the 4 ten hour days and 3 off. More days off in a row.Thats what really matters.

Believe me , If those two boys didn't make notifications, do a report , or follow the steps by the book, then they had no knowledge as to Abbate's employment. Those two Gentlemen have the utmost respect for this job and are as credible as you can be.
Anyone who says different is a liar and obviously has not worked with them and does not know them.

No. Bad incident in 025 years ago. Even got the D/C, a prince of a guy, dumped. If at all, somewhere other than the station parking lot and as distant as possible. Besides, change day ain't a real change day anymore.
