Meeks Theater

The show must go on! And believe us, it's all show:
  • A school boycott organized by state Sen. James Meeks will proceed as planned Tuesday morning, despite opposition from Chicago Public Schools officials who urged children to attend their first day of class, Meeks said Monday.

Meeks (D-Chicago), also the pastor of Salem Baptist Church in Chicago, said he expects hundreds of students and their parents to board buses at eight church sites beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
And the best part of all?
  • The Chicago students will attempt to register for classes at New Trier in a symbolic move that North Shore administrators have agreed to accommodate. Officials will usher the Chicago families into a gym and auditorium, allowing registration to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the freshmen-only campus.
A symbolic move? This is all an act? And the next few days when Meeks tries to hold classes in downtown office buildings, that's all part of the show?

Guess what won't be part of the show? These kids being used by Meeks and falling a week behind in homework, classwork and generally being kids. How much more tax money is this going to cost us in remedial classwork for them to catch up?

Here's what's going to happen, SCC:

In true ghetto fashion, the unlicensed, narcotic's-abusing, registered sex offenders & convicted felons responsible for gassing up and driving the busses will do the following tomorrow morning:

Approach the gas station attendant/clerk, hands filled with the following items: a) a Honeybun, b) a can of Hawaiian Punch, c) two bags of Funyuns, and d) three packs of assorted Now-N-Laters. Dude/Dudette will then ask the clerk for a "pack of Newport longs", put a $20 on the counter and say "put the rest on pump number 6". End result? $6.19 worth of diesel fuel in the bus' tank which runs empty just miles into Meeks' epic journey towards equality.

More grandstanding from the biggest anti-white racist in the State of Illinois.

New Trier Township is doing the smart thing, let him and the other play reverends act like idiots, give the kids the forms, accept them and (being gracious hosts) give them water and snacks while they do it.

Maybe Meeks can do some kind of lottery and give some of the kids a ride in his private jet---Chicagoland (Palwaukee) Airport is just down Willow Road.

Meeks must have promised some orange pops and flaming Cheetos, not to mention $$ bribes, to do this at 0700!!!!!!!!! Hopefully only 10 people show up!

Wonder what kind of 'instructions' Meeks will give them in the morning:

Cause disturbances, make racial remarks, instigate fights, etc....

Hey SCC, just went out with a fellow officer from 18 and guess what happened to the 3rd watch roll call? The 1500 & 1600 roll calls had to stand for inspection. The Officers had to have their mover books "opened" to show when they last wrote a mover. Looks like we are getting the mayor where it counts, but this is pimpy. Has anyone had this happen to them in other districts? Looks like we do have a forced qouta now.

I say it would be nice for the Illinois National Guard to be present when these busses arrived.

Some nice long barrel arms fully locked and loaded for their visit.

The Rev. Meeks then should be shackled and arrested for disrupting that area's school system.

But instead the New Trier Schools students will probably be out there with free bottles of chilled water and snacks for these demonstrators.

How an Illinois elected official and a "man of the cloth" can be allowed to disturb another county's school day is beyond me. Just another example of black extortion.

Maybe if the parents of each of these students filed a separate small claims court case against Meeks for the education that their children will lose tomorrow, the Rev. Meeks would think twice before using kids and race to extort others.

Hundreds of students and parents? At 7 a.m.? Parents at 7 a.m.? lol. Yeah ok. What a cluster this is going to be. Who's going to feed them and babysit them? Who's going to get them all back on the hot bus that has no a/c for the return trip (they're predicting 90 degrees)? Who's going to search them? Sounds like a holiday for the teachers.

Maybe Rev. Meeks wants a better life for the inner city school children.

But then again, they should of been in school today. I seen so many children walking around the
1st. district just shopping with their mom's.

I met with my greatuncle, Tom Byrne (rtd) for lunch. He said our Mayor was not happy today and he just wants the best education for all the poor inner school children.

You can say what you want, but Mayor Daley loves the children in Chicago.

My uncle Tom said the Mayor cried when he heard these poor kids did not go to school today.

Let us all support our mayor and write tickets to help him get more revenue for the city.

And, please-please, stop calling the mayor a crook. My uncle Tom would not work with him if thaT WAS TRUE.

Take care everybody,
Missy

You assumed because these kids were black they would be stupid and unruly. Most of them were the smarter kids who had no intention of attending New Trier or need to. The took part in boycott to support the kids who they believe don't have a voice. Most of the kids (and parents) referred to in previous post don't give a damn if you spend $20 or $20000, they won't want to learn. So please stop venting about all black children as gang banging dummies.

We have to all be honest with each other in the fact that the vast majority of those receiving government (our tax money) aid have been doing so for several decades, if not generations.

Welfare and the such were never meant to be cradle to the grave solutions nor should they be. Another issue stems from how some people adhere to the ill standpoint that government is or should be a father figure.

It should not be.

It does not take a village to raise a child properly, it takes a family. But many people would rather give government all of their responsibilities because they seem to think government has the track record to properly do so.

For some in our nation their political reality is that those who become successful are to be reviled and punished with oppressive and confiscatory taxation.

Worse, they are to be considered the enemy of working men and women who are portrayed as conspiring to ruin the lives of average Americans.

It never occurs to the class warfare specialists that rich people got that way generally because they work hard and take enormous risks. And as I often remind them, and remind you, I've never been hired by a poor person.

These class envy individuals are farther away than ever from the words of President Lincoln who said, "You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

Everything some people stand for today is the polar opposite of this guiding American principle.

It's a telling sign when it seems that our national symbol should be replaced. At our current pace, it will no longer be apt for it to be an American eagle. But instead a sow, a pig, that is being suckled by so many interests that it is being run dry.

There is nothing wrong with having social programs and such designed to help those in need. For it may one day be you or me. But history has shown that the private sector, the religious sector, the non-profit sector has always done a better job in doing so than a government entity.

To end, I do want to highlight a little side of this coin that many seem to ignore or simply are unaware of.

I remember years ago during my volunteer time at a local church food pantry on the city's north side how many of those that would come for free trunk loads of groceries and goods would do so wearing the latest gym shoes and clothes.

Driving luxury cars and SUV's "blinged" out with rims that cost more than both of my families used cars.

Yet these individuals came in week after week to get goods that were paid for by our tax dollars. Blabbing on their trendy cell phones with their kids in their backseat watching the latest DVD on their vehicle player.

I recall present day people we know that purposely do not get married, have their homes registered in their kids names, and a slew of other bogus ventures - all so that they can get Section-8 housing, receive LINK, and other benefits the working class never get because, well, they are responsible with their lives and their finances.

I also recall those that have bought the Hollywood lie and live well above their means - and because of that - are in debt and not able to "make ends meet".

But then again.. what do I know when I am the guy that will be waking up tomorrow at 4:50 AM for another 14 hour day. How dare I question those that purposely scam the system so that they can continue "laying low in the weeds.."

For my class envy people out there - do not worry. Me and the rest of those that take responsibility for their lives will have taxes taken out of our checks come payday to support those that know they don't have to.

You'll like this...about thirty years ago my father and I were up in Wisconsin fishing and talking in the boat about life. He made a statement...that "the weak shall inherit the Earth" and I said you mean meek. And he said that's what the meek are. They are weak people who prey on the strong. It sounded to me like a pretty bitter statement at the time. And I really didn't understand what he meant or why he said it. Sunday, he came over to visit. He's 75 now, and we started talking about the campaign and he said that "we are living now in the era of losers and that not even God would condone or support the people that are sucking this country dry."

This time I know exactly what he's talking about. And I wholeheartedly agree with him.

It's a massive, urban based vote buying scheme.

The only solution is for every last working American to register to vote, vote in every election and voter out every incumbent not proven to be worthy of reelection.

It's the only solution, short of armed revolt, which is not exactly a viable or desirable option.

Any American citizen meeting the minimal requirements of citizenship, age and residency, who is not registered to vote, is a fool, and, any American registered to vote who choses not to vote is an idiot.

At the point in time, with things being so fubar, it doesn't matter which challenger candidate you elect, as it's more important to get rid of the entrenched hacks that continue to get reelected, especially in this city, county and state.

The power of the vote, if not appreciated and utilized, is as useless as an unloaded firearm.

Identify appropriate targets, criteria to be determined by effective leverage.

Goals being to:

1- ensure maximum paper generation with minimum actual revenue

2- deserving recipients determined by irritation value to targets

3- deserving recipients also determined by the concept of those stealing the most from taxpayers should be the ones returning a portion of said ill gotten gains to same

4- deserving recipients further determined by the goal of depriving certain irresponsible inhabitants of the means to commit drive by shootings, negligent vehicular homicides and negligent damage to property, and the like.

Remember the four legitimate reasons for parking and moving laws:

1. Establish pc for further investigative actions and enforcement of law

2. Remove the ability, from those who abuse, (in a variety of ways), the privilege of operating a motor vehicle on the public ways

3. Discourage the repetition of unsafe motor vehicle operating habits

4. Determine fault, when possible, as relevant in vehicular 'accidents'

Use your brains, and your imaginations, and things could get really interesting.

And entertaining.

The reason the emissions testing site on 114th Street is no longer there, is because it was closed by the Illinois EPA on May 1st, with several others across the state in a cost-cutting move. Blame Blago.

Refer to this website (The info is stated near the bottom of the page):

http://www.epa.state.il.us/air/vim/locations.html

Perhaps before making such a statement, you should do a "little" research first... And NO, I'm NOT a Meeks supporter...

As much as I support the Chicago Police Department, and realize, know and sympathize what all of you are going through right now-- I too, work for the City in another agency, and believe you ME-- we have to abide by the damn residency requirement, have people who are clouted and get paid and don't do shit, etc. But what we DON'T do is put our lives on the line each and every single day as you do-- but we support you, and are rooting for you, because we UNDERSTAND how this damn city works and are pissed about the same shit too!

However, as a law-abiding, hard working Black American, who was raised right-- and who's doing the same for my one and only child who just entered their 1st year in college, and now she's the first of HER generation to attend college-- I was the first of mine-- No doubt she will go on to be law-abiding and hard working as well.

Now, I'm also a single-parent, who was never married to my child's father. You might say, I'm the "exception" to the rule. Maybe I am. But most postings on this site stereotype, condemn and lump every single black person TOGETHER, and that is simply NOT right!!

I don't see any Post Topic or comments on this site dealing with the Governor of Alaska's unwed, teenage daughter, (and you might want to surf the net, 'cause now they're posting photos of this "Angel" tonguing a female friend, and posing with Liters of Rum) and this girl has BOTH parents with GREAT jobs-- a HOUSE and EVERYTHING!! But where are those postings?

Everyone's entitled to their opinions-- At least that's one thing we can still have and do-- but what scares me about the comments on this site about black people is that if I ever have to call upon the Chicago Police, and white ones show up-- how would they respond to me? Would they take it for granted that because I'm black that I'm immediately in the wrong? Would they take it for granted that I'm a "Ghetto Rat" and eat Flaming Hot Cheetos and Grape Pop and smoke Newports all the time and on Welfare and/or "gettin' over" and treat me as such?

I apologize for the long post-- I just had to say what I had to say.

Stay safe, stay strong and come home safe to your families.

I think New Trier and the citizens of Winnetka basically turned it around on them, welcomed them with open arms and basically agreed that school funding is a mess.

I think the kids were perplexed and confused. They probably thought they were going to have to storm the school and breach their outer perimeter in a bloody battle. Instead, they found a welcome committee.

The Winnetka residents were indeed very gracious. I wonder if the fact that their police chief is Joseph De Lopez had anything to do with it? I've met him on a couple of occasions, he seems like a pretty straight shooter and wise to the ways of guys like Reverend Meeks.

As I recall, he was in the running to become CPD Superintendent before Phillip Cline got the job.

Is there a cliff's notes version for this post, cause its WAY too long for me...

9/03/2008 12:20:00 AM"

Sure.

Q: Who pays taxes?

A: Anyone who earns income, either by working or investing, anyone who purchases goods and services, retail, wholesale or commercial, anyone who earns profit, private, corporate, etc., and anyone who has to purchase licenses, fees, permits, etc.

Q: Who receives these dollars that have been paid via taxes collected?

A: Anyone directly employed by governments empowered to tax, anyone one contracted by governments empowered to tax, anyone employed by companies contracted by governments empowered to tax, anyone receiving funds from governments empowered to tax, whether gifted, granted, loaned or otherwise distributed or disbursed, etc.

Q: Who should receive said monies garnered through taxations?

A: Anyone who performs an essential public service, anyone who is contracted to perform an essential public service, anyone who is employed by anyone who is contracted to perform an essential public service, anyone who provides the goods or materials necessary to perform essential public services, etc.

Q: Who should NOT receive said monies garnered from taxations?

A: Anyone not considered to be part of the anyone's who provide essential public services.

To sum up, no taxations should be imposed, upon those earning said monies, for the purpose of providing monies to those who should be earning their own monies, but are not.

A2. So then your position is your buddy Daley's family and associates, who have their (and by association your) tentacles into every single essential City of Chicago public service contracting pyramid scheme known and unknown to mankind, should receive said monies garnered through the taxation of the rest of us? Are you related through inbreeding with Daley's family or farm animals??

Gee, what part of 'an essential public service' did you need elaboration on?

Or do YOU consider "...contracting pyramid scheme(s) known and unknown to mankind..." to be essential public services?

Q: Gee, what part of 'an essential public service' did you need elaboration on?

A: Golly, none. My snide comment was in response to your simplistic utopian answer as to who should receive tax revenues, to which I remarked that you and your buddy Daley, who you may or may not have been aware, by virtue of having control over the political apparatus that runs the City of Chicago, and therefore the CPD, which you may or may not agree is an essential public service, have been exercising unfair, unjust, and undue, control over tax moneys paid by people who pay taxes.

Q: Or do YOU consider "...contracting pyramid scheme(s) known and unknown to mankind..." to be essential public services?

A: Since you and your buddy Daley's pockets are being lined by raiding our pension funds for the sake of questionable and unethical real estate investments, and these same underfunded pension fund's losses will have to be made up somewhere down the line resulting in less essential public services in the future, you obviously must.

Since you insist on being a simpleton, I'll spell it out for you:

Essential Public Services are those which the citizens consider to be ESSENTIAL to their health and well being, and, thus, are worthy of paying for through fair, equitable and minimal taxation.

Since this city, county and state are inhabited by a variety of individual human beings, with various personal interests and a myriad of individual definitions as to what constitutes essential, publicly financed services, the rational perspective on what defines essential public services, warranting taxations for their financing, is to determine and define those government provided essential services, financed by said taxations, using the means of commonality.

Commonality being those publicly financed and government provided services that every citizen agrees are ESSENTIAL, and best provided for via taxation and government administration.

Instead of offering your opinion and definition as to what, to you, are essential public services, worthy of being financed by fair and equitable taxations being required of this city, county and state's citizens, you choose to assume that no one but you is fit to criticize the misuses and abuses currently being practiced by those unduly reelected political hack thieves which you strive so fervently to accuse others of being, but which, I suspect, you really are.

Were you to be so kind as to specify what, to you, are essential public services, worthy of being financed through the fair and equitable taxation of this city, county and state's citizens, there might be a reason for anyone, including this humble commenter, to give weight and value to your comments.

To date, there is little to ponder within your posted series of comments.

Have you any interest or desire to post something more worthy of being considered?

Or are you content with merely bitch ragging?

9/11/2008 02:05:00 PM (esq.):

It does appear as if a nerve has been struck, oh sensitive disciple of Jefferson and King Richie et. al. So the sarcastic tone of my derisive responses to your Reader's Digest condensed posting of 9/05/2008 12:24:00 PM on how your simplistic utopian vision of tax money allocation for essential public services is being perverted by the Daley political whorehouse are deemed by Your Grace as being too off-base.

Since you insist on being a diatribe drone, I'll spell it out for you:

T-h-a-t i-s t-o-o b-a-d

My comments were made for the sole purpose of illustrating how your ideal, while no doubt worthy to strive for in the Utopia of Your Mind, doesn't hold up in the real world where the misallocation of our precious tax revenues, through cronyism and unethical contracts awarded in the guise of supporting essential public services (i.e., CPD to name one), by Daley and his merry henchmen is still the order of the day. These inconvenient realities apparently hold no concern for you in cyber wonderland.

Should lining the pockets of King Richie's patronage armies be an essential city service? I say 'no', but King Richie and his minions say 'yes' and continue hold sway over their empire. Even if an alternative political reality to the Republicans and the Democrats were to gain power and govern Our Fair City, the power and money grab would overshadow the implementation any honest ideal concerning the proper and fair allocation of all tax moneys for truly essential city services. I don't like it, but that's the reality, baby.

In trying times such as these, I must learn how to defer without hesitation to your wise counsel and learned commentary when it comes to all things, especially those topics concerning social policy and the second amendment. I pray for your divine forgiveness each nite before I lay me down to rest the slumber of the hopelessly ignorant, as only you can know what is best for those without a J.D. degree.

To sum it up, because you are more than willing to take up the role of bitch, don't be surprised by the ragging.

Why are you so angry?

Why are you so disingenuous?

Were you born with a forked tongue or did you acquire one through surgery?

You appear to say you disapprove of "...the Daley political whorehouse...", or "...the misallocation of our precious tax revenues, through cronyism and unethical contracts awarded in the guise of supporting essential public services (i.e., CPD to name one), by Daley and his merry henchmen...", or "...lining the pockets of King Richie's patronage armies be an essential city service...", or the present reality that "...King Richie and his minions say 'yes' and continue hold sway over their empire.", yet, you also appear to be resigned to this reality, that "...through cronyism and unethical contracts awarded in the guise of supporting essential public services (i.e., CPD to name one), by Daley and his merry henchmen is still the order of the day.", and that "...Even if an alternative political reality to the Republicans and the Democrats were to gain power and govern Our Fair City, the power and money grab would overshadow the implementation any honest ideal concerning the proper and fair allocation of all tax moneys for truly essential city services. I don't like it, but that's the reality, baby.".

So, according to you, "T-h-a-t i-s t-o-o b-a-d".

When, exactly, did you decide to give up on the ideals you imply you believe in?

When, exactly, did you find it in your own, personal interest to no longer care?

When, exactly, was it that you concluded that the admonition to 'have the courage to change what needs to be changed, the humility to accept what you cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference' means to do nothing?

When, exactly, did you give up on living?
