Bears Win; Sox Alive

The Bears looked pretty good. Of course, everyone looks petty good against Detroit this year, but at least they executed everything they tried and emptied out the bench.

The Sox finally put together a complete effort and it paid off. And just like clock work, various media outlets showed Sox fans gloating about their team winning to play another day while the Cubs fans sat at home. We don't begrudge south sider fans their victory, but we know that either a north or south sider would travel the length of the city to rub their rival's noses in their misery.

We don't really care one way or the other - we like hockey. And the Blackhawks lost a preseason game tonight.

Five more days before the Flyers season starts. I can't wait. BTW, they play the Blackhawks the day after Christmas. That would be worth taking a trip to Chicago for!

Phils are kicking ass. I'm enjoying the hell out of them, even if hockey is my fave sport. Bring on L.A.!

And the Eagles - God, they suck, but that's no surprise. They choke every year.

It was a great Sunday. Bears kicked ass and looked good. White Sox stayed alive. Lets do it again in game four. The only bad thing is I ran out of beer and we still don't have a contract "again".

Baseball and Football are an American pastime.

Hockey is Canadian and boring to watch unless they fight.

Please stop talking about Hockey on the blog. Nobody cares except you and Tobias.

"The mayor blames the national economic downturn for the city's estimated $420 million budget shortfall"

-The City was drained before the stocks went to hell lol.

"Many city workers make a lot more than average Chicagoans"

-Many Chicagoans on the gold coast that make hundreds of thousands or millions cheat on their taxes.

"Millions of tax dollars are siphoned to boost development"

-Where did the money go? The City will not profit until after the Olympics. What if do not host the Olympics?

"The city depends heavily on taxing real estate sales"

- The working people already pay high taxes and have lost considerable value to their homes! What kind of assessments come up with these high taxes?

"City Hall builds little cushion into the budget"

Money wasted on toys for the rich while the poor kill each other without police protection.

"Millions of tax dollars are siphoned to boost development"

-There will be some explaining to do. People want to know where in hell the money is going.

"The city depends heavily on taxing real estate sales"

-Are they relating to the foreclosures or the poor slob that sold his home for nothing because he can't feed his family.

Last but not least, drum roll please.......papapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapaparapapapa......................................

"Lisa Schrader, Chicago's budget spokeswoman, declined to comment on why the administration did not put more money in reserve. Daley says he is making plans, coming up with a formula to tackle the problem not just this year, but for the next four or five years, because he believes that the nation is entering an extended recession that will only worsen. "

-IMPEACHMENT

For example:

According to Granholm, the hearing will focus on just two questions:

Did Kilpatrick authorize settlements in the lawsuits "in furtherance of his personal and private interests"?
Did Kilpatrick "conceal from or fail to disclose to the council information material to its review and approval of the settlements"?
Granholm alone will make the decision, and it will be binding. According to Free Press lawyer Herschel Fink, any attempts by Kilpatrick to appeal the decision will fall flat. "The constitution is very clear," he says. "This is not a judicial hearing. It is an administrative hearing within the governor's constitutional discretion. There can be no judicial review of it. As long as she exhibits fairness, that's enough."

But Peter Ellsworth, a former gubernatorial lawyer, told the Free Press that the matter was not so clear. According to him:

Kilpatrick could appeal to circuit court. But the circuit court could review only the governor's actions, not rehear the case. "The test is whether the governor has the authority to do whatever it is she might do, and secondly whether what she does is supported by substantial evidence," he said.
Granholm has said that she does not know how long the hearing will last, but she will make her decision immediately after the proceedings. If Granholm decides to oust Kilpatrick, City Council President Ken Cockrel Jr. will succeed him as mayor and Kilpatrick will be ineligible for election to any Michigan office for three years.

After such a great season how could the cubs blow it in 3 straight games. The Sox are hanging on by the skin of their teeth. They have been on the fence all season and looks like they ae having a hard time getting control.
No World Series in Chicago this year. Cubs yuppies crying in their imported beer and the inbreds from 35th St. are acting like monkeys after too much moonshine. Celluar Park, more people than teeth.

"...taight by the Sox..."

The nuns at St. Gabe's would have cracked me had I misspelled like that. I guess things were different on the north side.
