At the beginning of the season, if someone told me that the Brewers and the Sox would last longer in the playoffs than the Cubs my response would have been:

I did not realize the White Sox were in the playoffs? Do they still play in Chicago?
As a Sox fan, I would like to believe that we expect more from our team than just making the playoffs or winning a playoff series.

For once, you got it wrong, SCC. We south sidrers are realists and don't expect our Sox to make a miracle comeback.
Also remember that all the sports writers picked the Cubs to go to the World Series this year and for the Sox to finish in 3rd place in their division behind the Tigers and Indians. The Sox have exceeded their expectations and that's all fine and good, but they're not a championship caliber team, especially with Quentin and Crede out with injuries.
Besides, we already have a championship ring, so we're not as desperate as Cub fans to go to the big dance and win it all.
As a Sox fan, 2005 was awesome for us hillbilly trash. For the first times in our lives, something went right for us.

Oh sorry, that would be doing an injustice to Dusty Baker in that he had the cubs 5 outs from the world series. Big Lou is 1 and 10 in the last 3 years as a playoff manager. You could put take a stiff from the morgue and prop him up in the KC Royal's dugout and he would outcoach unlucky lou in a playoff game. The cubs are an embarassment.
I know everyone is upset that their "entitled to the world series because we won 97 games cubs" got smoked with that awesome 6 run (12 runs over the last 6 playoff games) hitting clinic, but there's always next year.
Lest you forget, the sox weren't picked to be in the top 3 in their division. See you next year, in the playoffs. For the first 3 games of course.

I'm Sorry, its October 5th and who is still playing baseball? I know its not the Cubs. Best Team in Baseball My Ass. They do have some impressive stats though; 9 Consecutive postseason losses. Not even making it past their Division since 1945 when they lost to Detroit. Amongst their spectacular record of 55 postseason losses includes having met and been beaten by the White sox in the World Series. I true Cubbie fashion they manage to lose both of their home games with each of their while becoming only the second team in history to have every player in their infield commit errors in the same game. Only Detroit has ever managed to do that before....but at least they made it to the World Series to do it. Then, after being beaten like red headed hillbilly stepchildren, in their own park, TWICE they fly to LA to post another miserable performance - Losing as only the Cubbies can. Maybe they should talk less crap and try winning for a change. Like most annoying little pussies they keep flapping gums and get their asses beat as usual. The difference is most pussies learn thier lesson and shut up. I believe the street jargon for them would be Punk-Ass Bitches. My suggestion would be to give your whining, excuses and trash talking a rest until you can actually make it to a World Series. If you really need it again, the White Sox will meet you there....and beat you just like the last time. Put down the quiche and try eating your Wheaties because you'll need them.

That really made me laugh out loud... almost sprayed a mouth full of cereal on my keyboard.
I've lived on both north and south sides of the city and those who speak poorly of the south side only show that they have never been there, and how ignorant they truly are. If there were no bad areas on the northside then they would have room to talk, and 016 has their share of problems. Actually the Norwood park/O'hare area is similar to Mt.Greenwood and Beverly... nice homes, strong community, etc... and northsiders shop in Niles and southsiders shop in Orland Park.
The only difference I see is how arrogant northsiders are in passing judgement on anyone that is not from their neighborhood. They mention irish hillbillies in Canaryville, dagos in Bridgeport and so on... and these neighborhoods are only a few blocks in radius. So out of a few blocks most northsiders assume the whole southside is full of them. That's like saying the entire northside is full of homosexuals because it hosts an annual gay parade... a fair assumption?
Is Zambrano still on schedule to pitch in game 4?
