Darn those Blackhawks! Back to back 4-2 loses? At least the bandwagon is still filling up and we got prime seats.
Ah well, time for the Bears! In Atlanta, noon. Bears appear to have a slight edge according to ESPN, but everything would have to go exactly right to earn a commanding win. Of course, we'd settle for a close win, too.

OT I just heard that 28 po's and 5Sgts were "detailed" to the Obama detail because they agreed to sign the "i dont want overtime" agreement. They agreed to work 2 12 hour days then 1 day off, two more 12's and 1 day off at regular pay. All of the Dig Protection people stuck together and refused to sign it, now Presidential Candidate Obama is being guarded by P.O.'s who were dumped from their teams in TRU. he should feel safe now!

Interesting glaring difference in the two major papers today.
The Tribune has John Kass ripping Obama and Daley a new ass over the whole Ayers/Katz connection. There is a second article about how Katz' PR firm was just handed a $5M contract by the City while others are about to get laid off...and mentions Chief of Staff J. Heard getting a $12,000 raise this year!!!
The Sun-Times has the usual Obama/Daley love fest, including a very apologist article on "getting to know Bill Ayers".

Went to the Welcome Home Party for Mike Mette this afternoon. A good time seems to have been had by all. Especially the little guys who appeared to be highly trained SWAT guys in the Bears jerseys!:-)

Off topic - I just got back from the Mette party. What a crowd! There had to be a good 50 people there. Why the Mettes needed the FOP Hall a third time (hint, it was free all three times) is completely beyond me. They could have rented the back room at Dugan's and had plenty of room to spare.
If people are stupid enough to work OUTSIDE of our contract, then they should be brought up on charges by the FOP for attempting to break our contract, forced out of the Union, and fired.
You cannot just sign a piece of paper and begin new work rules.
This undermines all the work of our bargaining agent for the last 28 years.
The city will always offer you a bite of the FORBIDDEN FRUIT to see if you are weak enough to taste it!
The (O'Bama) detail cannot make up their own rules.

You are a tool! The Dig Protection people were trained at the Academy. The same Academy that has produced the fantastic police force that we have now.
Do not pretend like you have some elite special training. You went through a couple of days on how to have an asset exit and enter a vehicle, I would not call the being highly trained.
The Presidential candidate is being guarded by the Secret Service, not the CPD. The CPD is providing outer perimiter duties akin to what regular PO's do for the SWAT on scene.
So calm down with you Dig Protection credintials and hang it in the wall of you studio apatment with your honorables.

All this talk about Midway is ridiculous. TRU, even though, i was a member of, is an awful excuse for a unit, has many more problems. Best thing i did was go back to a district. Lt. W.I. is worse than any boss i have ever come near. U people complain about SG of 018, he was a prince compared to the commander's cousin W.I., even though T.Williams is also a snake. Screw those shitbirds, i really feel sorry for my friends still in TRU. It aint that bad in the district.
