Inauspicious Beginning

  • NEW YORK - Brandon Dubinsky scored once and added two assists, and newcomers Wade Redden, Aaron Voros and Nikolai Zherdev chipped in with goals, too, leading the New York Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the vastly improved Blackhawks on Friday night.
We'll try to keep the hockey talk to a reasonable level. We have a weekly Bears post after all and no one seems to mind. We covered both baseball teams unceremonious early exits and gave almost everyone a forum to rip the opposite side of town.

But the Blackhawks are on free TV for the first time in a few decades and they've made good moves. We expect big things this year. Plus it gives us filler over the slow winter months.

I was shocked to find that you can stream the audio call from the games for free from their website! Sweet!

Savard is NOT the coach to get them the cup.
Shoot more; pass less while deep in the offensive zone.
It's obvious to me that Savard is looking for the finess play.

Maken Eddie O the coach.

the only thing missing tonight will be "red" flying up the stairs from the locker room onto the ice. hopefully the hawks come out fired up as they looked a little soft on the puck against the rangers last night.

Keep the Blackhawks portion of the blog. Its good to know there are still a few of us "old-school" folks left. We don't git much ice hockey coverage here...Stay safe and retire ASAP!

I hate to burst the bubble to all of you Hawk fans, but they will be just like the Bulls were last year.

All that hype, all the promise, and then they will go out and suck for the year.

Too bad, but too true.

I watched the last 5 minutes of the Capitols/Hawks game last night.

After the disputed goal, they gave another up right away--they fell apart, just like my Cubs did.

Going to be a long winter sportswise in this town. The Bulls aren't looking that good either.

Yeah it's true, TRU "c" company is being punished for not keeping up with the demanded "head a day". The Commander was overheard lamenting how this "c" company is going to make him lose his gold star because of their poor performance...
REALLY? DO THEY STILL CARE ABOUT NUMBERS, BECAUSE WHERE I WORK WE WERE TOLD BY OUR LT. TO CUT DOWN ON O.T, SO HE SUGGESTED THAT WE TAKE IT EASY & COAST TOWARDS THE END OF OUR TOURS SO WE DON'T GET LATE ARRESTS!! WHAT A FUCKING TOOL THIS GUY IS............GUESS WHERE? MORE CONCERNED ABOUT OT THAN NUMBERS LATELY......
