It wouldn't surprise me if the "leak" was from J-Fed himself. As an old time Alderman once told me, nobody cares about a press conference but everybody will publish a "leak".

some observations: 1) stevie wonder and ray charles could see the deception, drawing personnel from patrol, for the most part, to staff the Mobile Stike Force Unit (MSFU); 2) perhaps the more important observation is that CPD organization and leadership is in complete disarray; aside from the fact that in many areas of the city, districts are so short staffed that citizens wait, sometimes for hours, for service when they call for the police, the command structure is disjointed and corrupted by politics and incompetence....years in law enforcement hardens one to life, but even the tough ones have to feel for the citizens who need and deserve police service, but do not receive it; and for those honest and hard-working law enforcement personnel who have earned the respect and support of management and the politicians, but do not receive it...

Let me get this straight. They're reforming a unit they disbanded using people they dumped from that unit in the same place they got dumped from. What's wrong with that picture? Do they actually think the guys they unceremoniously dumped for no particular reason that they were in the unit (ostensibly not stealing $$$) are going to jump at the chance of going back there? Not to mention that the reports say that the State/Feds are in pre-trial conversations. Word is that they'd be interested if they get Tobias and Co.

Those of us with some time on the job have seen crap like this before. If someone is determined to sign up for this, you'll never talk em out of it. They have to learn the hard way. Maybe a trip down to the Corporation Councils office will change their mind.

For the inquiring minds, thank you for asking, I really appreciate the thought and I am sure the others do also. I can only comment for myself for the obvious reasons. Everyone you ask of are still in a stripped status. Its almost weird that you asked for info on the sos guys when you did, here is my time line of being stripped. I was stripped 04 oct 07, the unit was disbanded a couple of days later. so you see its been 1 year for me being stripped and the unit being disbanded. Its been a year and I still have not been served with allegations, nor do I see any end in sight. Its seems the going rate at call back is three years, so maybe I still have two more to go. I never in my right mind thought I would still be stripped. After all there was a video that was televised nationally on the news that shows I was not there, I thought when I was stripped it was a mistake, I thought that iad and the command staff would view the video and see that I wasn't there and I would be reinstated in a couple of days or even a couple of weeks never a year. To the exempt member(s)that continues to keep me in my current stripped status, have a conscience and do the right thing. I promise you, my individual case will not comeback to bite you in the a$$. Does anyone know what is going on with tuition reimbursement?
I am referring to continuing ed at Calumet College. Rumor has it that the city stopped paying (I haven't received a check in six months) and now the college is suing the Leo's for classes already completed.
I am in debt for $12,000 tuition if the city no longer pays.
In the original contract, the city clearly stated they would pay and there is no wording that the students would be required to pay if the city defaults.
So how can they get awawy with this?
Also, supposedly the next batch of recruits will have to sign a contract stating they will pay if the city decides not to.
Any thoughts?
Years ago they used to call this unit the TASK FORCE and it wrked well until the whore bosses and polititians wanted the word FORCE out of there because it might offend some of the citizens.
Now that the yuppies and women are here we have gone full circle. like in circle jerk)

To the 50 or so officers that can't wait to get their hands on an application or are already making their phone calls please think about a few things:
1. Any uniform other than the blue one....YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY.
Even if they choose the black one...how many do you have? 1?
2. Unless you live on the west side or downtown the drive will suck. And if you choose to take side streets....HELLO RED LIGHT CAMERA TICKETS!!--Longer drive = better chance getting hit w/ 1
3. No only do we not have a contract but you will be getting paid LESS than PATROLMEN. How you say? Bullshit you say?...well, now your hours can be changed by MORE THAN 2 hours but you will not receive the extra pay a blue shirt would. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME CALLTHE UNION OR ASK ANY FORMER S.O.S. AND believe me they take FULL ADVANTAGE of this.
TIME DUE....think your fixed days off will include a SAT or SUN? HA! Now you can burn what little time you earn these days for a day off with your family IF YOU ARE NOT DENIED!!!
You will also be trained in CIRT(Hazmat) but you will receive no extra pay like firemen do. (And before anyone says "well firemen have more training in hazmat" ..thats true...it's a whole 8 hour course. If I'm not mistaken they get 5-10% more for that. - YOU WON'T!
If you don't think a bio-terrorism act is not on the horizon...YOU ARE A FOOL! The City of NEW YORK has (I believe) 6 trucks that drive around the city 24-7 MONITORING AIR. They are also installing a system to detect RADIATION around the perimeter of the city.

5. GPS. Sure it's going to be installed on all cars eventually but the new MSF cars will already have it. Plus there is the lovely POD CAMERA monitoring the only street in and out of HOMAN SQUARE.

Hey Sgt Iggy, tell the killer "B" to avail herself of the department's dental plan.
Having worked with Lt. Roussell back in 015, I can attest to the fact that he is both a nice and honorable person.
That being said, there is an erronious belief as to how he made lieutenant. Jim Roussell made sergeant legit off the list, but was MERIT promoted to lieutenant by Phil Cline.
I'm not saying that he undeserving of this promotion. Jim is a very knowledgable guy and deserves the bump up more so than 95% of the other merit picks. But to label him or any other merit lieutenants as legitimate when they are not is a slap in the face to those who truly earned their bars.

Easy there tru=working police! First off, the district officers on beat cars in 007 get more guns than you guys do when you're in the district. Secondly, i've seen these drug arrests. One-baggers! WOW! That's hard to do in 007 and 008 (and i'll assume the same in 2,4,6,9,10,11,15 etc)! Grab a guy with one bag in the ghetto? What a great officer you must be! I've met some good guys from TRU but it's guys like this that give the unit a bad name. Then to tell how you'll teach the district officers how to be the real police? You obviously are a two or three-year wonder who only went to TRU because handling paper and domestics was too tough for you. I suppose being "the real police" doesn't include those of us who have to deal with a backlog all shift handling calls and servicing the public just so you can roam freely and grab a drinker on the public way. Listening to zone6 i know the wagons get priority 1A calls (man with gun, shots fired in case the TRU wonder didn't know)and have to respond due to the call volume. Of course, I am indebted to this fine officer from TRU. after all, I am just a lowly beat officer in englewood. I guess i'll never know what it takes to be the real police.

Sneed has something today about a police protest at city hall. Are we planning this or not? i mean if we do lets get the word out ahead of time so MANY of us show up. Just a hundred or so coppers will NOT be enough. If there are 9-10k of us and 25 districts with day crews, that means that takes about 950-1000(give or take) coppers that will have to work and cant make it. Which by my math means we should have at least 5000 working coppers that can show up to a protest march. Get 5k guys and girls around city hall marching and i guarantee we get heard!! Its time to do this, but as i said give enough notice so we do it right or we can end up hurting ourselves and looking like pwerless assholes if only a few hundred show up. Which is probably why the FOP never does anything, they know how hard it is to get coppers to participate

now im writing this comment not to bash the officers of tru..i am writing this as fact and blame the whole mindset of tru. tru will be gone and the officers will be sent back to the district.. this is 100%. it might not happen by 31 oct but by 01 jan. the exempts are not impressed by tru anymore..its not because the officers are no good, but because the mindset has been just numbers, numbers, numbers and now the crime rate is starting to show. The old sos teams were required to get guns and gang bangers with dope, most of the tru arrests are 1811s, hypes with a rock or two, or dopw..its sad but thats what the bosses want from them..now they are finding it is not working. there is a reason they are giving former 153 officers first shot, they realize they knew what they were doing and didnt f' around. they had balls to get the job done and are familiar with what needs to get done to shut a block down. these officers that are going to be in the msf will be replaced in patrol eventually in a few different ways. major cuts from tru and im sure an elimination of a few area gun/saturation teams. from what I heard, only one company in tru will exist and they will be moving out of the building on 39th st to the old 007 station. im sure many from tru will say im an ass and dont know what im talking about but this is how its gonna happen.. again... this post is not bashing the tru officers but the whole concept of tru.. be safe people.

This might be long and dumb to some people but i think this is what we need to do:
Get rid of 013, 021, 023 and 024.
Expand 002, 012, 014, 020 and 019 to cover up the districts that are now gone.
Split up 004 and 008 into TWO districts each.
Make 005 and 022 FOUR beats a sector not THREE.
Make 006 FIVE beats a sector.
Get rid of: Saturation, Area Gang Teams and Gun Teams.
Make TRU into 3 separate areas. Two TRU companies for the South Side (Lets face it, Area 1 and 2 have a ton more crime than the Northside). Also make a TRU Northwest company to cover Areas 3, 4 and 5. 150-300 Officers in TRU. TRU though hated by most POs does exactly what it is supposed to do.
2 Gang Teams 10 Officers per District (plain clothes), 1 Tact team 10 Officers, trained just like SWAT (heavy guns, high risk searches etc...) dressed in BDUs. You do not need 5 tact/gang teams per district. Some districts even have more than that, robbery/burglary teams and extra tact teams, just look at 014, 015 and 018, 025 etc. They have extra teams and they do nothing to deter crime. Tact/Gang teams 4+ years on to join. Want to work plain clothes? Try getting on an 06 cars. This will also free up unmarked cars. I never understood putting 06 guys in beat cars while dressed in plain clothes. Is that really a perk? It's not supposed to be a perk, you're supposed to be more covert. Believe it or not, unmarked cars do slightly work, especially with the younger kids. I have worked tact/gangs before, I know unmarked cars have advantages.
Getting rid of these units and extra teams will free up officers to man every car, rapid car, and 06 car in each district and no more 99 midnight cars.
I could be wrong, and I usually am, but something similar to this needs to be done.

now im writing this comment not to bash the officers of tru..i am writing this as fact and blame the whole mindset of tru. tru will be gone and the officers will be sent back to the district.. this is 100%. it might not happen by 31 oct but by 01 jan. the exempts are not impressed by tru anymore..its not because the officers are no good, but because the mindset has been just numbers, numbers, numbers and now the crime rate is starting to show. The old sos teams were required to get guns and gang bangers with dope, most of the tru arrests are 1811s, hypes with a rock or two, or dopw..its sad but thats what the bosses want from them..now they are finding it is not working. there is a reason they are giving former 153 officers first shot, they realize they knew what they were doing and didnt f' around. they had balls to get the job done and are familiar with what needs to get done to shut a block down. these officers that are going to be in the msf will be replaced in patrol eventually in a few different ways. major cuts from tru and im sure an elimination of a few area gun/saturation teams. from what I heard, only one company in tru will exist and they will be moving out of the building on 39th st to the old 007 station. im sure many from tru will say im an ass and dont know what im talking about but this is how its gonna happen.. again... this post is not bashing the tru officers but the whole concept of tru.. be safe people.

I am referring to continuing ed at Calumet College. Rumor has it that the city stopped paying (I haven't received a check in six months) and now the college is suing the Leo's for classes already completed.
I am in debt for $12,000 tuition if the city no longer pays.
In the original contract, the city clearly stated they would pay and there is no wording that the students would be required to pay if the city defaults.
So how can they get awawy with this?
Also, supposedly the next batch of recruits will have to sign a contract stating they will pay if the city decides not to.
Any thoughts?

Be careful new guys.
The things you do on this job can take years and years before comming back to haunt you. The criminal cases in this city are down to a trickle and there are many lawyers out there starving for a payday.
The department may give you a pass in the short term, but that won't protect you from lawsuits. Citizens are getting wise to the fact that punitive damages come out of your pocket and not their tax dollars. There is definitely a push on these civil juries to punish the officer for alleged wrong doing rather than the city coffers.
In the end, the department will say its behind you and maybe that will be true for a little while. So, you won't get fired until J-Fed starts looking for a new job and wants to go out as a reformer.
But, the citizens of this city are NOT behind you. They don't believe police when they are on juries in criminal trials and they certainly don't believe police when they sit on civil juries. They still have a love affair with these poor criminals that have nothing better to do than kill people.
This tactic of making new units is not new. Cincinnati did the same thing when police slowed down after an officer was charged with murder for an on-duty justifiable shooting. The department is looking for new guys so they can use up your credibility, use up your reputation, use up your job security, and use up your morale all in the hopes that you will bend rules and cross lines to make a short-term reduction in crime.
Twenty years is a long time. Thirty is even longer. Don't bury yourself under accusations (true or false) so you'll have no credibility to put away a criminal in the year 2020. Don't bury yourself in trouble that will make you bitter and angry and force you to hide away in this department just so you can survive to your pension.

Officers, like you presumably, have been telling the FOP for many years that they want to get rid of the 6 and 2 schedule. That was at the top of the list that officers put in their wish list in the 9 months or so before the expiration of the old contract.
WE empowered the FOP to negotiate a new contract, they are doing that. they got the city to agree to a PILOT PROGRAM that tries on a TRIAL BASIS three alternative work schedules.
I think the FOP has done a fantastic job in getting three different work schedules out there in 6 districts to really try and make work.
You will get to vote on the completed contract, if it is negotiated, otherwise an arbitrator will tell us what we get.
Are you ever at the FOP General Meetings expressing an opinion and getting involved? Or are you, as I suspect, just a locker room complainer?
There is a real loudmouth in my district, on my watch and at my roll call. He complains daily about the FOP. The thing is, he couldn't find the FOP Hall without GPS, has never been to a meeting in over 17 years. But he has strong opinions. Opinions based in bullshit and no facts.
Learn the issues, get involved. Discover how hard it is to bring any real change to this department.
People who actually try to make it better and who put many hours into helping are doing all the heavy lifting for folks like you. There are those of us who remember what it was like to have no union, to have to eat whatever shit the city fed us. You don't know how good it has gotten. Still you complain. Oh well.

I had the pleasure to work with Al Wysinger when we were assigned on the same team in the Naecotics Unit.
Al's always been , in my opinion, the "real police". Whatever that means anymore, a gentleman, and a respected member of the CPD.
I'd attest that there have been times working as an undercover buy officer, driving that funky red car, that Al deserved more than a Lambert Tree award. No one will ever know about those times it was just another day.
Please don't continue to live your life in this cynical manner. Don't judge people because of their rank or good fortune to be "unworthy".

You are 100% right! I'm a tact Sgt with a team that averages about 17yrs on the job, and it is STRICTLY a numbers game. The days of being the "real police" are gone. We were shown our activity and they gave percentages you were either up or down in, in categories such as arrests, contact cards and dispersals. THAT'S IT!! You clear a pattern you may get an "atta boy", but don't have the total arrests at the end of the period, you'll get called on the carpet. Basically, no matter what anyone says, IT'S STRICTLY A NUMBERS GAME! A one-rock arrest or a nickel bag of weed is a home run. IT'S QUANTITY, NOT QUALITY!!

TRU is great they come around and start scaring all the fish away. They travel in hords where there may be 6-8 cars within a 2 block area.
They should get more guns than anyone. No radio assignments. You work in the shit hole districts on the south side where the animals are not policed anyway. How often are they on the north side.

I'm not going to argue about TRU stats, because honestly, I couldn't care less about ANYONE'S stats. My question about TRU is simple...why do a majority of them that I've run into in 011 act like assholes? As in most districts, when we see another car on a stop we stop to ask if they need help with anything. So why is it when we stop and ask a TRU car if they need help we either get completely ignored, get "We're fine" with a shitload of attitude, or even get a laugh for disturbing the "real police" at work? What's with the attitude people? I don't care if you think you're super cop...someday you're going to need some help. Wouldn't it be a shame if everyone just drove by and laughed? Now I know some people on TRU that are good, hard-working coppers that don't behave in this way. Sadly, they seem to be the minority. And I can say one thing about the amount of guns recovered by TRU....God forbid they go out and assist us poor beat coppers when things get busy....But the minute a "person with a gun" call comes out, TRU cars race to the scene and when they discover there isn't a gun lying on the ground in front of them, they speed off faster than they arrived. So let's not pretend that they are out there chasing down criminals and ridding the streets of guns. I'm just sayin....

Total gun recoveries in TRU is very low. You would be surprised how low it is, even for TRU. They are having a hard time trying to lock up 1 head a night per car.

The old sos teams were required to get guns and gang bangers with dope, most of the tru arrests are 1811s, hypes with a rock or two, or dopw..its sad but thats what the bosses want from them..now they are finding it is not working. there is a reason they are giving former 153 officers first shot, they realize they knew what they were doing and didnt f' around. they had balls to get the job done and are familiar with what needs to get done to shut a block down. these officers that are going to be in the msf will be replaced in patrol eventually in a few different ways. major cuts from tru and im sure an elimination of a few area gun/saturation teams. from what I heard, only one company in tru will exist and they will be moving out of the building on 39th st to the old 007 station. im sure many from tru will say im an ass and dont know what im talking about but this is how its gonna happen.. again... this post is not bashing the tru officers but the whole concept of tru.. be safe people.
TRU was well aware of how to shut down a block, our supervisors put us in slowdown mode the minute the SOS stuff started, they asked us to do basic police work and nothing more, they were right! we had some really good Sgts. and P.O.s who knew how to get the job done but decided it was better to circle the wagons for our own sake, then they dumped a Commander that was well liked and kept morale up in the unit, all downhill from there, then 6 Sgts(a couple that were great) were dumped along with 90 P.O.s, with no rythme or reason as to who was picked, workers dumped, marginal people stayed. You think anyone wants to go out and try to be aggressive? the unit is done, people bailing every period... they can have it.
God forbid they go out and assist us poor beat coppers when things get busy....But the minute a "person with a gun" call comes out, TRU cars race to the scene and when they discover there isn't a gun lying on the ground in front of them, they speed off faster than they arrived. So let's not pretend that they are out there chasing down criminals and ridding the streets of guns. I'm just sayin....

I am referring to continuing ed at Calumet College. Rumor has it that the city stopped paying (I haven't received a check in six months) and now the college is suing the Leo's for classes already completed.
I am in debt for $12,000 tuition if the city no longer pays.
In the original contract, the city clearly stated they would pay and there is no wording that the students would be required to pay if the city defaults.
So how can they get awawy with this?
Also, supposedly the next batch of recruits will have to sign a contract stating they will pay if the city decides not to.
Any thoughts?

Regarding the question of tuition reimbursement. The PO (the only person) that handles it said they are over six months behind - my guess it's really nine to twelve months. She said she is asked to give an estimate for the budget, which she increases about 20% I believe, and then the Department is just given a number in the budget. When I spoke to her in July, she said they were out of money. She had a stack of forms on her desk, probably about a foot high that I saw. She said people are going to get paid, it's just going to take a long time. If you attend a school not affiliated with the Department (like Lewis, St. Xavier, Calumet), you will be out the tuition money for some time. No idea if they're doing a FIFO type scenario when making payments.

**Same here. Contacted tuition reimbursement a few months ago and was told that I probably wouldn't get paid until after the 1st of the year bcuz they were out of $. I emailed the union to see if there's anything that could be done because the department is violating it's own general order stating you will be paid in 12-16 weeks for tuition.
NO RESPONSE from the union.
I finished two classes in may ($3200) and just got my check last week. I have to pay for classes upfront and I couldn't afford to pay another $3200 and wait forever for the check.
Many of the schools have you sign promissory notes. The colleges should be suing the city for not paying in the time frame that they stated they would pay.
talk about useless units, look at the afternoon saturation team that works out of area 5. these guys arrest a piss bum or drinker and their mush of a (Sgt. E.0. and the mush before him sgt. d.m.) lets them leave early, thay are heading out the door by 11pm. There are plenty of officers who make the same quality arrests or better on that team and have to work the 8 hr shift just like everybody else. a female on the team that is all cozy with the sgt has 3yrs on and has no ideo how to handle a felony arrest besides the one rock arrest but she (and her 4 eyes partners...useless as well, spends more time on medical than that mush has on the job) shakes her fat ass at the sgt. and every other boss and thay let that mush get away with murder. I even overheard that female po say how shes the hardest worker on the saturation team and how she used to get guns all the time when she was in 25 on mids, she never got shit...her productivity was pathetic. . .but now she jumps on everyone else's paperwork and she's a superstar. POS like that are the reason these teams that once did good work are now ridiculed by all of 25th district and pretty much every other hardworking officer out there.

F.Y.I. This just in from the brains at 35th. Once the MSF becomes fully operational, TRU will be put back in districts to bolster the man power taken for the MSF.

They knew there would be performance demands when they went there and they do what they need to do to stay in the unit. However, I have to agree about the attitudes. Whether they are working the south side or the west side, there seems to be an "I'm better than you attitude", even when other p/os are trying to help. What's with that? And to the "TRU supervisor" that keeps posting...you just keep repeatedly demonstrating the attitude that everyone is talking about!! I just don't get it. There are some really good p/os and supervisors in that unit, but there are an uneven amount of over-inflated egos there too. WTF?

To the guy who feels he needs to pick on the A/5 Saturation team , it's convenient to always blame everything on the females isn't it. Maybe you just feel emasculated by strong women so you need to make degrading comments about them. Maybe your mother didn't hug you enough as a child, or maybe she hugged you a little too much.Either way just grow a pair and tell them to their faces or keep your small minded comments to yourself.Grow up already!

Why are they making this new unit? I am in TRU and we have been doing what SOS failed to do and locking down districts when were there. We lead the city in arrests,guns,drugs, and every other stat you can think of. I guess this new unit is for the clout babies but TRU is where the real workers are. No you do not lead the city in anything now or then. In fact, if you look at the numbers, SOS averaged 100 guns a period. Through the 1st 6 months of the year, the city was down approximately 600 guns from the year before. Look at the stats lad, look at the stats. These figures are correct, I know I checked that little stat tracker every day after roll call in order to give myself a smile for the tour. Homocides are up, and guns are down. So apparently, you are not "locking down districts" very well. One more thing my friend, don't blow your own horn. It simply makes you look like an ASSHAT!!!! If you are doing good work, then it will be noticed. No not by bosses or dog asses, but other coppers who are out there doing good work also (or at least did it in the past).

talk about useless units, look at the afternoon saturation team that works out of area 5. these guys arrest a piss bum or drinker and their mush of a (Sgt. E.0. and the mush before him sgt. d.m.) lets them leave early, thay are heading out the door by 11pm. There are plenty of officers who make the same quality arrests or better on that team and have to work the 8 hr shift just like everybody else. a female on the team that is all cozy with the sgt has 3yrs on and has no ideo how to handle a felony arrest besides the one rock arrest but she (and her 4 eyes partners...useless as well, spends more time on medical than that mush has on the job) shakes her fat ass at the sgt. and every other boss and thay let that mush get away with murder. I even overheard that female po say how shes the hardest worker on the saturation team and how she used to get guns all the time when she was in 25 on mids, she never got shit...her productivity was pathetic. . .but now she jumps on everyone else's paperwork and she's a superstar. POS like that are the reason these teams that once did good work are now ridiculed by all of 25th district and pretty much every other hardworking officer out there.
Look, you worthless MUSH! You need to get a grip on yourself. Mind your own business and worry about your own life. Stop hiding behind a computer and confront these officers. I'd like to see you say it to their faces. But I'm sure a MUSH like you won't.
Does anyone know what is going on with tuition reimbursement?
I am referring to continuing ed at Calumet College. Rumor has it that the city stopped paying (I haven't received a check in six months) and now the college is suing the Leo's for classes already completed.
I am in debt for $12,000 tuition if the city no longer pays.
In the original contract, the city clearly stated they would pay and there is no wording that the students would be required to pay if the city defaults.
So how can they get awawy with this?
Also, supposedly the next batch of recruits will have to sign a contract stating they will pay if the city decides not to.
Any thoughts?

The ten hour day will kill any ambition you have for rigorous academic pursuits. The city has slow-paid Calumet to such a degree that it has hurt the finances of the school, maybe even force them to lay people off.

Having worked with Lt. Roussell back in 015, I can attest to the fact that he is both a nice and honorable person.
That being said, there is an erronious belief as to how he made lieutenant. Jim Roussell made sergeant legit off the list, but was MERIT promoted to lieutenant by Phil Cline.
I'm not saying that he undeserving of this promotion. Jim is a very knowledgable guy and deserves the bump up more so than 95% of the other merit picks. But to label him or any other merit lieutenants as legitimate when they are not is a slap in the face to those who truly earned their bars.

It seems as the people with a small piece of the puzzle are the first to make judgement calls and proclaim they know the truth, yet they dont speak to both party's involved. I've seen that same female p.o. "go nuts" as well, ie... when she falsely accused a fellow cop of stealing and was reamed by the L.T., yeah great character. Im not going to rant and rave about what the truth is because i don't know the whole story but i know that the truth isn't as one sided as you may think. Reserve your opinions until you get the whole story. Whoever makes accusations should have the nerve and ask the person themselves. As for women on the job, WOMEN do the job as GOOD or BETTER than most men. They have more obstacles to overcome and must walk a fine line to be taken seriously and still get along with everyone without losing respect.

Yeah we all know about your gun stats and how they were attained, thank God those days are over; as far as locking things down, NOBODY is locking anything down, in case you haven't noticed, we were told by some good bosses (who are gone now) to do basic work and leave the "other " stuff alone, the city gets what it deserves if it doesn't have our backs. They are reaping what they sowed and now are in panic mode, so now a new unit is being made...hahaha who in their right mind would touch that unit? people bail out of TRU every period, get a clue, the writing is on the wall, answer your jobs and back each other up...
bosses have been telling the units (tru, tact, gangs) that they should still be the police and they have our backs. That these rough times will pass and we shouldn't be afraid to do our jobs.
It seems like they are feeling the pressure from above and have gone from letting you make quality arrests to asking you to bring in anything, pissers, drinkers and all sorts of pimpy arrests. They have already gone from expecting good police work to requesting a head. If they are that serious about wanting alot of arrests and backing us up...then how about you go down on the arrest and be an assisting unit...shar the risk of the lawsuit as well....YEAH RIGHT! Time to realize you have to do what you need to do in order to get your paycheck, your OT check and stay out of trouble.
