Bringing back an old favorite when there's just too damn much news to cover:
- Federal prosecutors on Monday sent the strongest hint yet that convicted influence peddler Antoin "Tony" Rezko is ready to spill his political secrets, moving to postpone his sentencing indefinitely while they and defense attorneys "engage in discussion that could affect their sentencing postures."
Well the Feds better hurry the hell up. There's under four weeks to election day and should Obama win, judges and prosecutors are going to be reluctant to move forward when they know there's wholesale change coming just after Inauguration Day. Rezko is playing the feds like he never got convicted of anything.
- The Chicago Police Department is renewing its pledge to not engage in racial profiling.
The city council's human relations committee met with police representatives Monday afternoon to hear about the department's new anti-racial profiling campaign.
The department is also launching a new series of public service announcements and materials that will be handed out at various community meetings.
Officers are also being re-trained on the department's policy to not ask about citizenship or immigration status.
Oh lord, not this crap again. Why won't the Feds just cut off funding to "sanctuary cities" so they fall into line regarding illegals? They threaten all sorts of funding cuts to force states to comply with rules, why not this? If the government makes it uncomfortable enough for illegals to ply their trade here, they'll deport themselves. Hell, if the economy keeps taking, they'll voluntarily return to their country of origin as jobs dry up.

With nerve-rattling news headlines like those, who would ever want to be a Chicago cop?
Who indeed? The article is actually pointing out how different a Department Mike Mette will be returning to shortly. We're going to point out it has now been six days with no word on Mike's return and whether or not the Iowa DA is going to appeal the decision. This isn't over until Mike is home.

The jagoff DA has 20 days to appeal the decision and I bet he uses all 20 days.
I'm sure Mette would be glad to have a foot beat on midnights in Fillmore instead of being in an Iowa prison.
The State of California is now asking the Federal Government to help bail them out as they are broke. Hey, when you give all those benefits to the illegals like they do in California, what do you expect. Illinois is just as bad. We give them special food programs at schools and don't even ask them to prove they are citizens, not to mention the education we are all paying for. Wake up America.

I like how all the states/big corporations are asking for bailouts. Where does all that bailout money come from, I wonder? Our national debt is in the tens of trillions, the average worker's wages have been stagnant for decades, and our taxes are already WAY too high thanks to democrats. What's left to give? The whole thing needs to collapse and people other than incumbents, illegals and liberals need to build it back up again.
McCain wants to grant all the illegals amnesty and he's from AZ. where a good number of them sneak in. You'd think he would know the impact they're having on our economy,crime and country's resources and be one of the first to want to put a stop to this mess. Obama, I don't even want to go there. I suggest a class on "Profiling" be offered to young pos.
It should show that a profile requires a race insert. Be able to articulate this knowledge and stick to the profile on paper.

The funny thing is...if this happens all the new "citizens" will drop any non-minority, and probably any non-like them-minority pol like a safe, and will vote by their ethnicity, just as the blacks and hispanics do now.

It is so maddening. There was a resident African American woman interviewed on one of the news channels last week when a 13 year old child was killed in cross fire inside of a convenience store. She commented that her neighborhood needs police officers to get these gangs off of the corners but then went on to say that the police were all at the Cubs game in a neighborhood where people pay higher taxes.
She is correct that the police are often taken out of their area of assignment to address crowd control at major City events and that people who live near Wrigley Field do in fact pay higher taxes.
As I listened to her, I understood her grief, fear and frustration over the senseless taking of a 13 year old child's life and could sympathize with her. However both she and the Reverends have to understand that they cannot have it both ways. The police cannot be told to get the gangs off of the corner and in the next breath be told not to get the gangs off of the corner because of racial profiling. They also need to hold members of their own community responsible for their actions. Rather than use the police as a scapegoat, they should try supporting the police officers that serve and protect them.
The Community and powers that be have effectively tied the hands of law enforcement and have completely diminished the ability of the police to do their job. The gangs know it, have no fear/respect whatsoever of the police and are taking over this City.

J-fed and the department are counting on the young guys with little time. They know the guys with time on see the light and are far too wise to their "hang you out to dry" policies. It's kinda sad cause their doing this to promote themselves and their numbers while the young guys will get eager and excited and do too much. And then one day they will fall victim to the self-interested leadership of this department and go looking for the bosses that they worked so hard for asking, "I thought you said you had our backs?" Only to hear, "I don't know what you are talking about, I have nothing to do with your arrests. No one encouraged you to work that hard."
I remember a big boss saying to us just four months ago, "If you guys see any gangmembers wearing colors or flahing signs, we're going to house them all and we're going to take our time with the paper." First of all, what's this we shit? Boss you won't be doing any paper or have anything to do with the arrests, so the civil rights violation will only be on the P.O. so lets stop with this "we shit."
