Where Are the Indians?

No, not Cleveland:
  • O.T., was at the Captains promotional ceremony today, and observed that Captain Wedster of the Academy is now Commander Wedster of the Academy as of today.

    ***********
    EXCELLENT!!!!

A Deputy Superintendent, a Commander, 3 Lieutenants, and 23 Sergeants working at the academy to train 36 PPO's entering day 7 of municipal employment. Time for a tax increase.
About time for a staff reduction, wouldn't you say?

if our pension fund is not being funded as required by the statute, then the pension board needs to sue the city. The Village of Calumet Park was sued by their police pension board for years of under funding their pension. Their pension board hired an attorney (Rick Reimer)who filed all of the paperwork and low and behold, they won. The Village is bound by the court order to continue the proper funding each year. In our pension law, which is slightly different than theirs, under subsection (G) the city is obligated to deposit with the city treasurer before March 1st of each year an amount that is not less than the amount of city contributions for that year as certified by the board to the city council.
If they are not doing this, then the pension board should hire a lawyer and have a judge make them do it. contempt of court is a bitch, as Weis knows so well.
just a thought

And I agree, too many bodies wasted on inside jobs.

Like I have stated over and over for the last year, 5 to 8 years maximum for our pension fund. CDS,CMBS,CDOS etc. have taken it all away. No one was watching the store. All of the advisors have some political ties and the board is wined and dined by different advisors.

Remember the good old days…. “ Investigative Reports shows the Mayor has allowed the Chicago Police Depts. Manpower to fall to over two thousand officers short, meanwhile the homicide rate climbs despite officials stating it is lower than last year… more at 10”

Yeah those were the days, when the local news stations would hold the cities officials accountable to the folks, they’d sift through the bullshit and call it as it was… I guess now everyone just listens to the same bullshit… more at 10.

The CPD is almost 3,000 officers short. If you are killed while attending to your duties and there is any correlating link to the manpower shortage, your family will at least get paid.

MAKE SURE YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER KNOWS THIS!

I have a feeling CPD hiring is going to become more like CFD. Where they administer a test, make the guys and gals jump through all of the hoops but will have to wait 4-8 years to get on.
Honestly, I don't see why any media outlet isn't running with stories like this when the city's crying poor. They spent how many millions administering the tests and paying an outside company to process them, millions more running drug, medical, physical, background and psychological tests. And for what? To hire 40 officers? Why spend the money on any of this testing for people who weren't getting hired within 90 days? Talk about COO KOO

Heavy Math Question? If anyone has a math problem it's you. 80 recruits to the 28 running everything IS greater than a 5:1 ratio. By the numbers you supplied it's 1 staff member for every 2.86 recruits. Nice to see the CPS system taught you well.
