Speedy Recovery Officers

  • A man was charged with DUI after colliding with a Chicago Police squad car early Saturday on the Northwest Side, injuring two officers, police said.

David Gill, 42, of the 3900 block of North Nottingham Avenue, was charged Saturday morning with DUI and was cited for no insurance, negligent driving and an improper left turn following the crash, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

The squad car was heading east on Irving Park Road near North New England Avenue about 1:25 a.m. when the DUI driver attempted to turn onto Irving Park Road from a side street, according to a Jefferson Park District officer.

Hope they are OK. Take your time coming back. Make sure you are healed and don't let the medical section force you back early.

Had my squad run off the road twice in the last year by drunks. THe DUI laws in this state are a joke and we need to criminalize refusals like other states. Hope the 2 brothers in blue are making speedy recoveries. Be careful out there

Any word on their condition? (I'm on a weekend, not a reporter, for the clown who always accuses people of working for the papers.)

Gotta watch all those here illegally with their non-authorized extended Visas (although we are refrained to inquire about any legal status according to General Order) from Poland driving with their non-existent driver's licenses drunk along Milwaukee Ave. They are just like the Mexicans, once they get caught, they disappear back to the old country for awhile until they reappear a few years later. You can thank city hall for the sanctuary city policy. God forbid if we get caught calling ICE, we get written-up.

The general public has to know that we cannot ask about immigration status to an arrestee(being unable to talk English is usually a give-away) when a suspect commits a crime, even felonies. We just cut them loose and let commit more crimes against innocent Americans.

And let me guess - the bastard DUI didn't have a scratch on him?

My thoughts and prayers are with the officers for a complete and speedy recovery.

Please be safe out there.

Both officer were released from the hospital. One had a dislocated shoulder and the other was pretty beat up. Piece of crap DUI seen the pos coming but thought he could make the left turn. Of course DUI didn't even have a scratch on him plus no insurance. Gods speed on both pos recovery.

Careful, your bitterness is showing. Retire, already.

Oh, hell no; don't retire. Then you'd spend even MORE of your obviously already miserable life spewing your bile on this blog.
