Not Amusing

If true, further bad news:
  • SCC,
I'm not too sure if you heard this word yet but according to sources (seemingly reliable), J-Fed has decided to appeal ALL decisions of the police board which result in officers getting their jobs back. There are currently 2 officers in call-back that had been reinstated by the Police Board, but were subsequently returned to call back after their decisions were appealed. Another officer who received his job back was supposedly taken off the street and placed on desk duty as well. I thought others should know the manner in which the administration continues to "have our backs." For the record, all three officers are hard workers.
This would mark a departure from the "carrot-and-stick" approach to management and an introduction to the "giant splintery 2x4 shoved up your ass sideways" model in hopes of ruling by fear. Anyone know how much of it is true?

Scc, J-Fed can have the Corporation Counsel go to civil court for what is called a Judicial Review. I know of one case this was done in, mine. The Judge told the corporation counsel that if I had lost at the board and petitioned the court, he city would be saying I was just unhappy with the boards decision and he would rule in the cities favor and uphold the police board. But in my case the Corporation Counsel was claiming that the board they put in place ruled badly and now the city wants to override the board. He denied the cities position and I was reinstated. Bottom line, these guys need a good attorney. Mine cost me $5,000.

While this is disturbing, let's face it, the police board has reinstated more than one officer who should be in jail but isn't because iad is a complete joke in this department.

I really think SCC should post a Countdown Calendar on the home page for the day that J-Fed's contract expires.

And start thinking about who will replace him.

I always do, since my first car. The point is the Department of Revenue is looking for heads in our parking lots. They might find some, certainly not many. And certainly never me.

However, I see their employees parking illegally all the time, including marked Dept of Revenue vehicles. And they are ticketed accordingly.

After all, aren't we supposed to enforce the laws?

Cover your own ass and watch your own back. It is much easier to not get jammed up in the first place than to get your job back in this environment.

Last night on an interview program a southside black female alderman was screaming about the violence in englewood and demanding the police take a pro-active approach towards gang violence an such,

This is the same alderman who has decried police brutality and aggressive police work towards black teens who are/aren't in gangs, depending on who is telling the tale.

You can't have it both ways. Police work isn't like that, once you slap down your aggressive pro-active police you can't then turn around and tell them to be aggressive and pro-active. Not with Jody Weis looking to send aggressive/pro-active police to prison if they stray even a bit outside the lines.

I heard these words from Jody Weis: "If police officers are 100% right he will back us 100%"

So, I intend to be 150% right and not get fired or sent to Federal prison for being too aggressive.

Show me any where in any General Order where it says I have to be pro-active or aggressive. The Superintendent demands I be 100% right all the time, that is exactly what he is going to get.

I intend to make it to my retirement without a detour to Federal Court.

Fuck J-Fed, Shortsahnk and the top brass. They tell you to go and work, then stick it up your ass when you do. Do your job, nothing more. Let's use a show of force to send a message about how sick we are of being shit on every chance they get. I'll handle jobs and back up other coppers, but nothing more. Let Shitcago burn. They give less than a shit about us, why bust your ass.

There is a Police board for a reason. For the most part they have been very fair in their rulings. They have seen thru the b.s. that the over-zealous IAD investigators have attempted to use in their sustained cases. Too bad that the board doesnt do as some arbitrators have in the past and put to paper their opinion of the conduct of the investigators duting the course of their investigations. I have won grievances where a sergeant was called everything but a clown in the decision of the arbitrator. Until this too is done, these coppers who work at IAD and enjoy screwing hard-working coppers, will not cease. Not saying that they are all wanting to stick it up our tails, but rather saying that one is too many! Chief Skahill, please review some of those cases that are sustained. If you can review those that were signed off by D.K. and are separation cases. When she had it in for you, she gave marching orders to her pets to sustain no matter what. Remember, your name becomes a defendeant in Federal Court as well. Hear rumors that a group is currently in negotiation with a big-shot attorney to sue the department over lousy investigations and they have IAD specialists on board who are going to testify ! Stay tuned-D.K.-you wont be able to sweep this one under your rug.

We are alone and in the end it's our responsibility to watch our own backs and make the right decisions. I think the J-fed doomsday clock is a good idea, however the question of who will replace him is mute, who will "WANT"
to replace him is the question that should be asked.Who of good quality would want to replace J-fed knowing that when they accept this job they will be enheriting a very large dept. of officers with low/no morale, officers who feel they can't trust the people in charge because they are such cowards when it comes to defending the troops. The replacing Supt. will trully have a daunting task at hand in that who will be willing too put up with Daley's constant infering, with Daley's spies, the back stabbing that will take place, the public display that Daley holds you to when something goes wrong when in fact it's just percieved the wrong way.J-Fed claims he has our backs then here is one way he can persaude us to that fact: Don't have some politcally appointed hack to be the spokesperson whenever there's a police involved incident,"YOU"be the spokesperson. You do not have too release info. concerning the incident instead how about notifying the public that it's a fresh incident that has too be investigated first and let's not jump to any conclusion at this time. The perception is that every police involved incident that makes the news involves something the officer did wrong then later on you find out that it was "monday" morning quarterbacked too death because "Pookie" with his three middle teeth missing says "YEAH HE HAD A GUN,HE HAD A GUN BUT WHEN DA POLICEES TOLE HIM TO PUD IT DOWN HE DID AND DEY STILL SCHOT HIM".Remember the whole world is watching and who in their right mind will want to be the police supt. for the city of shitago. If you seperate the supt's job and the police dept's budget from Daley then you will have very good chance at turning this dept. around,if you don't then things will only get worse.Think about it if Daley had no control and could not enfleunce the police dept.'s budget and could not control the supt. of police this department would be much better off, because the supt. would not have too worry about Daley throwing them to the wolves,he/she could counter his every arguement of what it takes to control a police dept. the size of Chicago's and could even tell him to but out and let us handle it.

==================================
The truth of this incident has never come out, and its a damn shame, so I'm going to say it. If it wasnt for an overzealous, police hating ASA supervisor, who was later arrested for being drunk in Joliet, the sgt would have never been charged. The victim was movie star groupie, a sports player stalker, married an illegal to keep in the country for money, had a drug/alcohol abuse problem, and never showed up for court once, not once. Even though witnesses appeared in court to testify that the victim is a patholical liar and to say that the victim said that she will never show up in court, the case was continued for 3years until the statute of limitations ran out, and the dirty ASA only then dropped the charges.

Give it a rest, you all should be ashamed of yourselves because you fell gullible to the victim's news interview and a vindictive ASA. Many detectives know the real story here, and the ASA should be held accountable for unlawful arrest of the sgt. And what is so ironic, he was charged by the ASA because of his mother's rank. Whether you like the sgt or not, he was railroaded and his family has suffered enough.

I overheard two sergeants talking the other day and heard some high grade B.S. It seems that an officer responded to a domestic disturbance and after handling the job the complainant called for a supervisor. She wanted a c.r. on the officer who handled the job. The sgt asked if the officer used foul language-no, did he hit you-no, did he raise his voice or yell at you-no, was his conduct unprofessional-no. Then what was the problem? I didn't like the way he looked at me, I felt intimidated. Of course the sgt didn't take the number. So the complainant calls IPRA who gladly took the number and contacted the sgt involved. IPRA told the sgt next time make things easy for the both of us and just get a c.r. number. What kind of shit is that? Now aside from not cursing these idiots out or slapping the living shit out of them (which we know a lot of them need and deserve)I have to sit in the mirror and practice how to look at someone without making them feel intimidated. All I can say is 3 more years and I'll be running for the border.
