You Make Us Laugh
Chicago Police - still the most creative people in the universe:
- Here's an idea!!!
Call IPRA or visit IPRA online from your local library and file a complaint. "The officer said his name was G. Flint Taylor" and insert whatever accusation of wrongdoing you would like. Based on the policies of IPRA and the Chicago Police Department, all these complaints WILL BE TAKEN and then the jagoff will be on the list himself. See how much he likes that.
Maybe some of our out-of-state visitors can help with this endeavor as we all know that they will never prosecute you for a false statement, because they haven't done one yet.
Not that we'd ever advocate such obviously juvenile hi-jinks, but here's a link that goes right to the IPRA online site. Someone let us know if it works.

Most everybody I’ve arrested has complained about something: the handcuffs are too tight; you twisted my arm; you profiled me and arrested me because I’m black; you had no probable cause to stop me; there was no gun or dope in my car; I wasn’t driving; I wasn’t in that car; I’m a female – you had no right to put your hands on me/search me/touch me; you had no right to talk to me like that; you didn’t let me use the washroom when I wanted to; you didn’t have to cut off my shoelaces – I would have taken them off if you asked me nice; you had no right to search my car; you never gave me back my money/identification/drivers license/cell phone/insurance card/50 carat diamond ring/car keys/etc.; you were rude; you are always arresting me – this is harassment; you had no right to enter my residence; you pointed your gun at me for no reason; etc. ad infinitum. I suspect that if all you officers pay strict attention to all your arrestees that you will discover that sometime while they are in your custody they will complain about something. Afford these individuals the opportunity to use the internet to file a complaint via the IPRA online site. If every officer did this eventually every officer in the department would have hundreds of CR’s. Thus, a list of officers with more than 5 CR’s would be meaningless. As an added benefit, all those CR investigations would keep all the bureaucratic white shirts busy, remember – an idle mind is the devils workshop (and we wouldn’t want any white shirts to fall into the clutches of the devil).
Link works fine SCC. Not that I would EVER EVER file a complaint about lets say hypothetically an incident that occured at State and Lake at 6pm on friday the 6th of March at or around 1800 hrs. Perish the thought!
Careful they want a lot of information
DONT GO TO THAT SITE THEY ARE TRACKING YOU?
I have something funny to add to 1:20 complaint list.
The cop smoked in the car while he was driving me to the station.
and I have a question about that, What is the CPD policy on cops smoking in the car while they are alone and driving??
they may be tracking it but if you use an internet cafe to make the complaint they will have a very difficult and I mean VERY DIFFICULT time finding out who you are
Sounds like a great idea if you can do it without your ip address being tracked.

U know what? When u post stuff like that, it gives 'people' enough leverage where they can get a court order to identify you. I can't believe SCC allowed this to be posted!
Hey first poster, great idea!!!!!!
I don't think after over 1,000 arrests I've ever had somebody not complain. I may have calmed the arrestee down or they didn't protest to much. That being said all arrestees complain.
What would be interesting is to see the CR list. I know I would be towards the bottom of those with 5 or more complaints. I should work on my people skills more. I'm embarassed that I'm not in the top 100.

virtually all sites track you to some extent.
if someone were to file complaints via the web site, maybe the proper kinds of complaints to file are about incidents that have actually happened. maybe involving certain individuals with clout. :)
How about every cop writing a letter to the ARDC and lodge a complaint against F.Taylor.Do like the ghetto rats, lie, he was your atty.did not do this that, you paid him he did not do what he said he would do.He has to answer all complaints in writing, tie this prick up for a few months..

You have to use your library card to have access to the computer so much for that.

On another thread someone asks:
Why do we have unions again?
**************************************
here's my take:
Because we need someone to run easter egg hunts, golf outings, fishing tournaments and a store. We also need someone to collect a salary that we pay so that they have some spending money (besides the per diem) to spend when they take trips. Also we need someone to drive the union provided vehicles. Also, we need someone to provide the wrong copy for the calendar books. We also need some people who think that they are so above the rest of us that they don't have to go to annual firearms qualification. We also need a group to wait till a year after the contracts expire so that they can spend 2 years negotiating a new deal which will be decided by an arbitrator anyway. And finally we need some bodies to stand around with blank looks on their faces at crime scenes, press conferences, and to ignore the press releases and statements which come out whenever the city or a media outlet makes a misinformed if not blatantly false statement regarding the actions of Police Officers.
Oh wait, I forgot something. We also need union supporting kool aid drinkers to tell us how lucky we are to have the unions so that we can have legal representation during hearings and depositions and the like. Which is a basic service that all unions provide for their members, not some special benefit that we get.
Those would be reasons why we need unions.
Flint Taylor??...wasn't he a character actor in the old westerns...Bonanza, Gunsmoke...
If every officer did this eventually every officer in the department would have hundreds of CR’s.

I don’t agree with them giving up the list but sorry, I'm not going to seek out beefs just to make you look a little better. The easier solution would be for those getting a lot of beefs to ease up on saving the world when they don’t want to be saved. The writing has been on the wall for quite some time (way before jody) yet there are still coppers out there in search of the almighty nickle bag to get their head or whatever it takes to please their boss. Answer your calls, look out for each other, if something happens in front of you do your job, and go home to your family. Will you get beefs, sure, it happens but that’s part of this job. But we all know how to minimize them, give them exactly what they want. This city has made it very clear that they do not want an aggressive department and will not support you as an aggressive officer.
I will go to that site to file complaints against the following officers:
Mike Hunt-Hertz
Hu Lik Mee
Dick Burns
Hugh Jass
Mona Lott
P. Ness
Pierce D. Hymen
and those two deadbeat brothers:
Doug Graves
Phil Graves
You know all they're going to accomplish with this site is more complaining about the police and most complaints are bogus to begin with so IPRA probably just added a ton more to do. I wish someone would realize that when you work the public at large, and more specifically the people we deal with more often than not, of course there's going to be complaints. A while back the Sun-Times published a story about a rude CPD officer on a traffic stop. Ok whatever. The article concludes that the officer even took my driver's license. That's your bond, not a headlining story for a sub-par, struggling newspaper and I say news generously.
There's a good reason why the city is prepared to evacuate rapidly.
As an added benefit, all those CR investigations would keep all the bureaucratic white shirts busy, remember – an idle mind is the devils workshop (and we wouldn’t want any white shirts to fall into the clutches of the devil).

Absolutely! I put more time and attention to CR investigations than supervising. It's obvious the dept wants it that way. They have disciplined investigators who procrastinate.

Well, this comment should make it easier for him to sidestep any problems he could have had at the ARDC.
I once had a friend who owned a dog. The dog was a scruffy little mutt, the lovable kind of pooch that you know will be faithful and good to have around. Well the dog gets older and the guy spends a ton of dough sending the dog to obedience school and command training classes. Sure enough the dog turns in to a great watchdog and is lovable to the owner. Then one day the dog starts barking and growling because he hears noises outside of the house. My asshole friend out of nowhere starts beating the dog's ass because he wouldnt stop barking. Next day he takes the dog to the vet and has all of his teeth removed. A week later his house is broken into and all of his prized possessions are stolen and the dog never made a sound. The owner takes out a bat and beats the dog until it is permanently crippled. When asked why the owner says "Well the fucker didnt do his job so I beat him to within an inch of his life but Im not worried, the dog still loves me." Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, it is my great pleasure to introduce to you the Chicago Police Department....Sorry for the long rant and dont forget to tip your waiter.
I cant believe how dumb we are. You can write letters until yr weeners turn blue. It wont matter. What will matter is if we all stick together.
Just answer your calls and write paper for everything. Let the back logs begin. But we are dumb fucks
how about the case when you are required to get a CL# when there is no accusation or wrong doing, weapon discharge(even shooting a dog), taser deployment, and certain instances in the lock up.
no offender is complaining but u have to get the number anyway, this is total bullshit...

Try working for a department with no rank and file union.
Just try it, I dare you.
All you have to do is use your laptop and use your neighbors wifi. Its amazing how many people don't password protect their routers. If that does not work just find a wifi hot spot, like panera or star bucks. Complain away!
This is ridiculous! Just another way to make it EASIER for somebody to make a bogus complaint. I've been gone from the department 6 years now, and often times I really miss it. But when I see BS like this, it reminds me why I got out.
Just a few thoughts in case you want to have fun with this.
They will have your IP address, but I wish them luck in tracking you down. I've been working cases against online child predators for years, and the Internet Service Providers (Comcast, AOL, etc) are NOT friendly to local, state or federal law enforcement agencies. They have gotten burned the past few years with the democrats tightening the Patriot Act. It's not like TV. Law enforcement agencies DO NOT have a magical database with IP address information. ISP's REQUIRE a subpoena for ANY customer information related to an IP address. I doubt anybody at 35th and Michigan wants to writing up subpoena's for EVERY anonymous complaint that comes in. Also, Comcast purges their IP Address logs every 4-6 weeks, so even if they wanted to track you down with a subpoena, they have to do it within a month of the complaint being filed. If they don't Comcast will not have a record of who had that IP address on a given date and time.

If you were the police, you would know.
As far as releasing the list of names with 5 CRs...that request was clearly overreaching and beyond the scope of Mr. Flint's current lawsuit. I don't understand why your FOP attorney didn't step in and file some sort of motion or injunction or something to stop the release of names of hundreds (maybe thousands) of officers who have nothing to do with Flint's case. I mean, when Weis was ordered to turn over the list he had to do it. But it seems like the FOP could have tried to take some legal action to prevent the unsustained CRs from being released. I'm not CPD so maybe they did try to do something. I just hadn't read about it so I was wondering.

List to show pattern and practice. This allows the lawyers to try to get into the City's pocket even though the cause of action is against an off-duty PO.

Which, of course, leads to the eventual release of the list to every lawyer engaged in the practice of ghetto lottery lawsuits.
