Another CPS Casualty

  • A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon near his South Side home in the Gresham neighborhood.

Chicago Police are investigating whether the shooting at 77th and Carpenter at about 12:30 p.m. was somehow linked to a neighborhood dice game, sources said.

[...] So far this school year, 32 Chicago public high school students have been killed in street violence.
Thirty-two is a new record. Actually, everything past twenty-seven is a new record and there are still three months left in the school year. Plus summer school because they count everything until September.

But don't worry - we're at 97% of full strength - J-Fed said so.

I work in 006 on midnights (by choice) and on friday and saturday nights we have 5 to 6 10-99 cars working. I have been denied my FLSA time due several times and I am currently talking to a lawyer who is going to file suit soon. I know that 004 is having the same issues with personnel on our watch. This supt would rather man his "pet" MSF than give us help in the districts. This guy is nothing but lies. Please, if anyone is listening: give us some help in 006!!!

Every po in MSF should all request to be placed back into the districts.

This will send a message to Weis and Daley that the PO's are tired of being lied to and shit on.

If no one bids to the MSF the city can not get around the contract. The city has been doing this to long. Enough is Enough, we need to send a message loud and clear.

If no one requests to placed into a unit the city will need to fill these spots by reverse seniority. This will inhibit the city from changing start times and rotating shifts. The city gets around the contract by getting volunteers to apply for these units. When you volunteer you waive the contract and that is how the city is able to rotate shifts and change start times.

This is the cities way of not hiring enough PO's and also not giving overtime.

We need to stand together, after about 6 months things will change and the city will be more then willing to give us a fair contract and change the abuses they have gotten away with for way to long.

We are all adults here, we can all do 6 months in a district. Lets every one man up and stick together and let the city understand that we are not kidding around this time

So how is this the Police fault when this guy should have been at home studying instead of hanging out and waiting to become an RD number?

The problem is that j-fed is too ignorant to know the truth, too dumb to figure it out, and he can't fire the people who keep feeding him the lies and BS that he walks around espousing.

I saw it also, the segment states that if you own a gun you are not really safe. It airs tonight. I think they are right so I will give you a whopper and fries for every gun you turn into me. Details to follow.

Reading a book? Are you kidding?

Two days ago, on E. 79th St. some sociopath broke bookstore window, creating a hole you could stick your hand through. Within grasp were several new best-sellers, worth about thirty bucks each. They weren't touched.

Even Chris Rock says books are like kryptonite to black people.

Save the money on the lawyer. The FOP is currently still in court with that one. See below from FOP web site

FLSA LAWSUIT 03/25/09

Back in 2004, the Lodge brought a lawsuit against the City alleging that the compensatory time system used by the Police Department violated the Fair Labor Standards Act. The lawsuit named for Officer Hans Heitmann was joined by a number of other Chicago Police Officers. Supervisors soon joined us in a companion action. All plaintiffs won a summary judgment in their favor and the trial judge entered an injunction. The City appealed and the injunction was stayed pending the appeal. On March 25, 2009, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the City’s position. However, it did vacate the trial court’s injunction because, under the FLSA, only the Secretary of Labor can seek an injunction.

So, what now? The 7th Circuit remanded the case back to the trial judge for entry of non-injunctive relief. Our win remains intact, but without the injunction. The Lodge believes that the City’s next move is to attempt an appeal to the United States Supreme Court. Look to the website and the newsletter for updates now that the appeal has concluded and the case is active again.

Let's be honest here we all know that was probably a homework assignment he was working on. Keep in mind it's a numbers game with a little wagering to die for. I just purchased a great jumbo chalk pack for the summer!

Let's face it, most of the time, these kids getting killed or getting their ass beat up are trouble makers themselves. At North and Luna there was a kid who got his ass beat by a brick because he wanted to sling dope. At first they just told him not to sell dope at their corner, he didn't listen, so he got his ass beat.

It is these types of kids who get publicity? And the city is doing this in an apparent attempt to curb guns in our city. It is nothing but a publicity stunt.

Stay safe brother and remember, just answer your calls and always ask for another unit if you are 99. Don't do anything proactive as long as they have too many 99 units. Your safety is paramount. In 025 on midnights, it is just as bad. Too many 99 units. Hell, one night, they even held a burglary in progress job for five minutes! The crooks in Chicago are having a ball while Da Mayor pits his dreams on an Olympics.

Yeah he was such a good kid. Just last week he asked to borrow a couple bucks.

Funny how in a matter of couple weeks he now has a pocket full of cash and was on his way to shoot dice. Makes you go "hmmmmmm"!!!

Oh, the street dice games how the criminal class loves them ... how many murders, agg batt/firearms and other violent crimes come out of these dice games! The obvious response for the City of Chicago is two-fold: (1) ban possession of dice in the City; and (2) sue the manaufacturers of dice.

End of problem!
