A then B then C

It all follows the familiar pattern:
  • The Daley Administration says, with the global economic crisis continuing, the City’s budget gap is growing even larger.

WBBM Political editor Craig Dellimore reports that tax revenues are way down and Snow removal costs have been higher.

Chicago’s new Chief Financial Officer Gene Saffold says that a $33 million dollar budget gap a month ago has now turned into a $51 million dollar shortfall.
Um...what snow removal? The streets were in the worst shape we can remember. And as a result of failing to clear the streets?
  • Transportation Commissioner Tom Byrne said Wednesday he's mapping plans to "reshuffle" personnel -- and "double up crews in high-density areas" -- to increase productivity.

The redeployment is in the works as city crews appear to be fighting a losing battle. Chicago's 311 non-emergency system still has 13,000 reported potholes, even after city crews filled 4,000 potholes on Tuesday.
"...filled 4,000 potholes on Tuesday"? With what? Evaporating bullshit? Because we haven't seen it. And neither has the 4800 block of Van Buren:
  • Residents of a West Side Chicago street who were fed up with the potholes grabbed pavement mix and tools to fill the holes themselves.

Members of the South Austin Coalition used $100 in pavement mix and a 250-pound push roller in addition to rakes and shovels to fill 15 holes on West Van Buren St.

$100 to fix 15 holes one a one block stretch? Holy crap, hire these people. But listen to what the City says about it:
  • But city officials say the residents' action was not a good idea.

Brian Steele of the Chicago Department of Transportation says the driveway mixture used by the neighborhood group does not match the quality of the high performance cold patch used by the city.

Officials say city crews fill 3,000 to 5,000 a day.

Again, 3,000 to 5,000 potholes filled a day would mean they ought to be catching up on the 13,000 hole backlog. But they aren't. And they are claiming they have filled 300,000 so far this year. We smell bullshit.

Meanwhile, we're on the fifth rim on our 172,000 mile chariot this year alone. Maybe if the City didn't build roads out of such crap material, they'd have a chance to catch up. We hope the media makes a special trip over to the 4800 block of Van Buren and films the citizen patches. Then, if Shortshanks and Byrne don't have the patches scraped and replaced in a few weeks, see how the citizen patches held up against a similar city patch. We're betting it outlasts the City's "high quality."

Makes the Mayor look bad, doesn't it? Makes people think about electing someone else, doesn't it?

"Brian Steele of the Chicago Department of Transportation says the driveway mixture used by the neighborhood group does not match the quality of the high performance cold patch used by the city."

No, no. Not so fast there. The "high performance cold patch" was NOT used by the city. That's why the residents were out there doing the job themselves.

Boy, the arrogance of these motherfuckers. You pay your taxes, they do nothing, you pay out more to do the job yourself -- and they act offended about it and shit on you for your trouble.

Way to go, South Austin Coalition! Thank you for making things a little better for everyone.

Fuck you, "Brian Steele of the Chicago Department Of Transportation."

Fuck you, Mayor Daley.

Twenty years of your horrible, twisted, babbling face is about enough.

Ben Joravsky and Mick Dumke, of the Chicago Reader, are two journalists who've consistently investigated the daley cabal's devious ways and means.

Since the 'major/main stream' media refuse to print/broadcast the many truths concerning daley and his clan, and the Chicago Reader, via the reporting efforts of Ben and Mick, has continually printed many of these truths, particularly Ben's ongoing attempts to inform this city and county's citizens on the scam TIF program's misuses and abuses, both these guys would likely welcome any and all information concerning the other areas of city and county government mismanagements of the taxpayers' dollars.

While some of the Reader's past reporting on other subjects has been less than thoroughly fair, balanced and truthful, skewing a bit too far to the naive and presumptive, there are many areas where the readers of this blog and the readers of the Chicago Reader enjoy common ground.

The realization that the daley/madigan combine's activities are ruining our city and county is one of them.

So, imagine how he treated the average PO. It's amazing how all these worthless bosses, who ruined the department are now being taken care of and invited to work at City Hall after they retire or forced to resigned. Bosses that have just about ruined the department, and overall morale. Bossess like Tom Thumb, Chiesa, Killacki, Dana Starks just to name a few. Then they wonder why the other City Departments are all fucked up. These chumps who were once exempt bosses in sweet spots always had their little minions do their jobs. It crakcs me up to see these assholes go to City Hall and get these great jobs they don't even qualify for or have the knowledge or know how to do what their job entails. In addition to having had no knowledge or skills, those few policemen and women who actually did their job when they were exempts, made them look good. Now these goofs are in some pretty serious positions that effect every citizen and community, and we have to ask, is it really what they know, or who they know?

After 911 they created a job for him to OVERSEE the 1st and 18th dists. Another useless GOLDSTAR sucking up our pension money.

"They" didn't create the 1st and 18th District Deputy Chief job, Byrne created it himself! True, he went way outside the chain of command and went straight to Daley and said what a great idea if we had a Deputy Chief of the Central Business District, and Byrne knew just the guy to do it, HIMSELF!

Thus Daley told Supt. Hillard to create the Central Control Group and put Byrne in charge of it. It was a cluster fuck from the beginning, Detectives from two different areas at first, a mess. But it got Shorty Byrne another gold star and a bump in his pension.

The streets look like Germany after a flight of B-17 bombers just went over. I have not seen ONE fucking pothole crew in 019. Lots of taxes paid over there and there are lots of angry people. But they are Yuppies and unlikely to actually do anything other than complain to each other and have some more wine and cheese.

Long time until next mayoral election. They will forget, it is inconvenient for them to come out and vote anyway. They are more likely to be angry at the police for shooting that "magnificent" cougar.

Not the two legged one at the cocktail lounge after midnight either.

"Hi People, Missy here, once again.

Miss me ?

"Byrne is that retired CPD Deputy, right?..."

Yes my uncle Tom was and he is still helping our great mayor out with about everything the mayor needs.

Thanks to my uncle Tom, we will be a world class city when the world comes here in 2016.

And people, stop saying bad things about a few pot holes our mayor has not gotten to yet. In bucktown where I live, not one pot hole.

Yes people, are am still writing parkers on Wabsash in the 1st. district. And yes, I will be promoted to Sgt very-very soon.

Please people, I may be a Sgt promoted by merit, but I deserve it with all the revenue I have brought to city hall.

Lovbe you all people,

Damn, Missy! We haven't heard from you in quite a while, and judging from the spelling in your most "recent" post, I can see why!
You've certainly become more stupid as time has gone by.
Have your uncle Tom get you a spelling tutor, or get some of those "video professor" DVDs and learn how to use spellcheck, dear.
I can't even imagine how many of your parkers wind up being listed as "spoiled" if you spell this bad while you're writing them.

Hi People Missy Here again,
Sir, I am not stipid. I Had a cocktail or two, and yes people at home with my 3 cats. I do not go to bars withour an escort.

Ira left me for some slut that is a V.P. of some bank in Indiana.
My uncle Tom ran him out of the city for doing that to me. I hurt and could not write here for awhile.

But, I got help dealing with this man who I once loved.

I am and will write my 400 plus parkers a day for our mayor. My uncle said we should take 1 % a year on our contract and be happy with it already.

Be safe people,

Missy 001 district

Some people over eat to sooth their wounded feelings.

Some people shop 'till they drop to forget the pain of betrayal.

Missy enables the shankster to spend our money and, presumably, stuffs her face with canned tuna.

Go figure.
