Double Fatal Misdemeanors?

  • A Wrigleyville man has been charged for an early Wednesday crash on Lake Shore Drive that left two people dead, police said.

Christopher Carter, 25, of the 3500 block of North Southport Avenue, was charged with one count each of misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and misdemeanor operating a vehicle without insurance, police said.

  • Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette said two cars were involved in the crash and both were traveling at a high-rate of speed.
We seem to remember another crash where all the participants were allegedly DUI, though there wasn't any proof offered. And the deceased were to blame for the accident, blowing a stop sign and getting broadsided by the other driver.

But for some unknown reason, the survivor was charged with a number of felonies following a rather loud and raucous protest from the families of the dead. Why is this sticking on our heads? What could possibly be the reason that this individual is facing two misdemeanor counts and the other driver, who was completely not at fault for the accident, is facing felony charges. We just can't seem to remember. If we didn't know any better, we'd think there was some double standard being applied here. Hmmm.

can we go to city hall and hold pictures of a fallen gang banger, not speak a lick of english, claim that the police department someow had something to do with this, claim a conspiracy, and cry and moan until the states attorney collapses under pressure and forms a grand jury to indict the driver on felony DUI??? Or does that only apply if the driver is a cop? Talk about a witch hunt!!! I thought we got preferrential treatment?>?? Does someone want to call juan "LK" Laguna's sister and ask her about this one??? When can we expect an apology from "LK"s sister??? When can we expect an explanation from the states attorneys office regarding the discrepancy???? HMMMMMM I guess I would agree, we DO get unfair treatment!!!!!!!

How certain are we that this person is not somehow related or lives next to a police officer. Now that would be newsworthy wouldn't it.

Two words... MALICIOUS PROSECUTION!!!!! If I were one of the two (JA RF) I would be smiling right about now!!! This is a CLASSIC case on how the police are unfairly treated in this city! This, my firends, is malicious prosecution at its worst! So much for justice being blind!!! Another reason (as if you needed one) to not drink and drive.... you WILL be part of the witch hunt and WILL be maliciously prosecuted!!!

Another open-borders nightmare

By Michelle Malkin • May 15, 2009 12:03 PM

Here we go again: Serial drunk driver. Countless trips through the revolving door. Immigration status ignored. Now, a four-year-old girl dead. Her mother and brother hospitalized.

The community is outraged. Politicians claim to be perplexed. And the pro-illegal alien amnesty group is ready to pounce on anyone who dares talk about this case as a right-wing, hate-mongering extremist. Same old, same old bloody, open-borders nightmare:

I can't wait to see who Mr. Christopher Carter is related to.

That whole "Six Degrees of Separation" phenomenon usually has the uncanny ability to ultimately reveal someone that either has some dirt on D.C.I. (Daley Crime Incorporated) or is cashing-in a favor owed/promised by D.C.I..

Let's all sit back and see how this plays out. If I was a betting-man, I'd say Christopher Carter is somehow related to one of the Aldercreatures. Just a hunch/gut feeling; no inside information whatsoever.

Mr Carter can purchase insurance from the mayor's brother, back dated of coarse, before his court date.

August 2004, CPD Officer killed by an intoxicated driver who was also killed. Funny, no mention in the press that he was an illegal alien that was supposed to have been deported prior to this incident. Way to go Mayor and your sanctuary city-you make me sick.

The accident occurred in the Lakeview Area. Time to play connect the dots & see where it leads?

Jimmy Smith was arrested after kidnapping four women from Chicago and transporting them to Harvey where he raped them, two victims in their 20's, one 14 years old and one 12 years old.

But, Jimmy had already been arrested for rape 9 months ago in Chicago. The odd thing was that one of Jimmy's victims WAS THE SAME 20 YEAR OLD GIRL he's accused of raping in Harvey.

Of course, felony review declined to prosecute Jimmy for last year's rape because they don't like those "one on one" rape cases. Now that it's four on one, they went ahead and charged him.

I haven't read any newspaper editorials about the Cook County State's Attorney's Office letting brutal criminals walk the streets so they can keep up their winning percentage.

Have you?

While I agree that, as Law Enforcement, we need to be held to a "Higher Standard".
We, (O.K., MOST of us) are Professionals, Trained, and should be damn good at what we do.

However, we need to be held to a “Higher Standard”! THAT’S IT! It seems like we get shafted with a “Double Standard” all too often! I’d love too see some officer be able to use this case as evidence in a law suit proving that a “Double Standard” exists!

Cleveland P.D. did it RIGHT! No Contact, No Complaint! They did their job, and that’s it! No more, no less! After a few months the City begged the Police to do Proactive Police Work! Sometimes, reading up on History can be your friend!

it is amazing that they charged j.a., considering that darren o'brien the head of felony review refused to approve the charges. it then went over his head to milan and devine. milan was running for state's attorney and need the votes. so he and devine approved. j.a. should subpoena darren o'brien and ask him why he refused felony approval.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I'm getting a little tired of having to "avoid" more and more things because of the same old bullshit that, in a sense we are targeted. If my friends are going out to a sports bar to watch a game, I'm going. Moderation is the name of the game. "Higher standard" only sems to apply when we are accusd of screwing up. What about the "higher standard" that is supposed to be applied when we are getting battered or assaulted? Sorry office, no broken bones? You sure he wasn't just trying to pull away when his fist connected with your jaw?

Yeah, it's about time we were held to a lower standard like everyone else, like the good old daze. The fact we are authorized to carry a gun at all times should not make us a target. Why should I have to change my habits and stop drinking and driving? I'm getting tired too. Time take a knappy.
