I don't normally agree with the lib-tard camp but it is a sociological reason for gun violence. However, they are the cause for the gun culture.
The liberals in Hollywierd crank out movie after movie that glorifies guns, drugs, money and the gangster lifestyle. Then they turn around and construct a social program that caters to the very problem they caused. I wouldn't venture to say their plans are sinister, but at the very least the liberal camp is cultivating votes; cause a problem, claim they are the only ones to solve it, create and enslave yet another under-educated and narcissistic generation.
This culture that glamorizes everything that is evil caters to narcissism. It allows one to be feared (which equates to respect in their minds, but that is another discussion entirely), allows one to get rich without skills or hard work (entitlement is another argument) and excuses any behavior and acts that are used in pursuit of their happiness. The world has turned upside down.
The liberal camp chooses to throw good money after bad and try to change society from the top down. Designing a program to keep kids off the street? The program is flawed for two reasons. For one, the government is not responsible for children running the streets, the parents are. And two, the program can't make bad parents good. Those parents that allow their children to do whatever comes to their minds were destined to be bad parents from birth. The liberals would be more effective if they built a time machine to go back around 50 generations when everyone in society had self respect and pride in America.
On the other side of the camp are the true conservative like many of us that post on this board. We see the result of the liberals' failed policies everyday and know that society does not change with the stroke of a pen and the cashing of a check. The changes start in the home.
If people who normally vote democrat take a step back and look at the platform liberals run on, they will find their beloved politicians have little in common with their constituents.
If you have a strong sense of family values, why do liberals make policies that destroy it? If you are Christian, why do liberals attack Christianity? If you want quality education, why do liberals provide the worst public education system in the world? If you value the freedoms this country provides, why do liberals want to take away our rights guaranteed by the constitution?
We had a chance to vote for real change and we got more of the same. You can keep the change, I'll keep my freedom.

Friday afternoon, during a police shootin in 006, there was another shooitng on 91 wabash and 006 was on a NoCAR. As this was going, some004 cars were being assigned to assiste 006 and then went on a NoCar. The best is 003 calls in a person shot at 65 evans (the previous night the scen of a homicide) but NoCar to do paper.

With all merit picks, people will have good and bad things to say. However, one should be deserving of the selection as of the date of the merit pick. Kevin Connors and Clinton Sebastian are Officers that still do police work and deserve the pick today (as others do), where as John Curry and Patrick McKenzie, are good guys, and were good working officers for a short period of time in their careers; however, neither are deserving of the pick today. It’s embarrassing. Please leave your baseless arguments – check John and Patrick’s arrest history over the last couple of years.
There are too many Officers that still do police work and have more time on the job. McKenzie is a driver and Curry is a secretary – enough said, neither haven’t challenged an offender or testified in court in years. Neither deserved this promotion.
A weary citizen says: No, not interested in At Issue. The seeds were sown with the rise of the government subsistence programs circa 1960's encouraging the break up of the family, all families. Now the accountability is calling: youth crime, poverty, poor quality education and fewer and fewer good jobs. What is left? Crime. That is the true bla bla bla of the situation.

What are the odds and reality, if S&S is privatize that Daley would try to privatize fire and police. Nevermind how stupid it would be amongst the numerous stupid things Daley does but legally speaking could he do this. Once again it would turn this city into beriut sans 1980's but legally would he have a leg to stand on?
I think this will be a record year for armed offenders shot by Police in Chicago. That's the only crime related statistic I see going up that will be noted by all, silently or not, as a positive!

He also was an working police officer, an FTO, ,and a US Army Sergeant. If we were criticizing his promotion based on lack of policing, then ALL of the north side district po's should never see a promotion. 12,13 ,16 ,17, 18 19, 20 ,21 ,23 And 24 ain't districts working police bid to. So shut the F up, stop whining and hating.
And guess what else , asshole, maybe if you step into shit, and he's the sergeant,maybe being the Supe's driver means he 'll have the juice to get you out of it.

Your description of the circumstances is accurate. People who work to create, perpetuate, and profit from areas like Chicago's "no-go" west and south sides are indeed "sinister."

Nope, cant happen. Somewhere, there is a law that a City having more than a certain amount in populace must have a bonded Police force, Fire Department. I cant remember the deal about ambulance.

I agree. And it's refreshing to admit you have a problem. I cannot remember any similar situation in the past where the initial bail was set so high. Yes, it's tragic that a kid got killed and I won't even start on why was he out at such a late time (even his parents questioned that in one interview I saw).
The fact of the matter is that a poilce officer was involved so the rules change. How come when this happens with anyone else you never hear "Child killed by a drunk off duty lawyer, etc?"
Plus I thought we had it in our contract that no photos or name releases could be done unless the officer in question was convicted? Does anyone know about that fact?

OK, it's a tragic situation but lets face it, if junior has no real home life; i.e. a mommy and daddy, then they will go to whoever or whatever group can provide acceptance.

Why does the last couple of years define a man's work? Having worked with Curry, both on and off duty, I have never seen him not help out a fellow PO or volunteer to assist anyone who asked for help. When you are dumped from a unit like we were and labeled, what do you expect us to do? Check his arrest numbers from SOS or from his days from 024. I was there when he saved a fellow PO/Friend from being shot, by killing the badguy. I don't blame him or anyone for looking to lay down for a while after being treated the way we were. I guess I should have said in the last decade or so. Movies from our youth were not so damaging as they are today. Are these movies 100% responsible? No. However, they don't help. When our youth is not provided with proper role models at home, the tv and movies imprint what culture expects. Kids see drug dealers at home and now on the big screen; perfectly normal. Our parents got in our asses if we were acting up, they taught us self respect and self reliance. They taught us how to be productive adults. What was subversive in our youth is now acceptable. Now come the liberals flying in like superman with all of their programs that will change every one's lives.
Culpability of parents is why these social programs will not work. It teaches the parents that the government will step in and take care of their children and on top of that give them a check.
Here's how interested I am. If I have to listen to that bullshit anymore, I'll use my legal handgun and shoot my own ass off!

I must agree with having a huge difficulty of simply wanting to go to work anymore. If you stay in a unit for at least 5 years, you are probably going to go through 4 or 5 commanders, if not more.
Every one of them want to change the unit and put their own ignorant touch on it. Every one of them don't know what they're doing and on't deserve to be there. Yet they expect you to prove yourself to them.
At the end of the day all that happens is you end up training them and they take your ideas and move on as if the ideas were theirs.
It is today's command staff cycle.
They cannot lead because they are too young, stupid and inexperienced. Which is why they compete with their subordinates.
Every time you move you take a big chance of getting another knucklehead as your supervisor. Is there any position left on this department to go and be left alone to do your job?
