Ed Burke's C.P.D. "bodyguards" aren't sitting around doing NOTHING for 5 hours while he's out golfing.

According to Ace Reporter Phil Schitz's source, the reporter related that she would like to do some real reporting, but the station said "no". Supposedly the station mentioned something about manpower cutbacks in the news media and that nobody's job is safe. The reporter got the hint.
Phil Schitz is trying to get a confirmation of this rumor. If true, it spells out exactly why the public gets bullshit investigative reporting on their televisions instead of the "real stuff".
Is he the only city official besides Daley to have a police detail assigned to him like armed man servants/chauffeurs ?
I remember years ago Shortshanks removing the PO's assigned to the City Treasurer's office when he got pissed at Miriam Santos when she stopped him from grabbing our pension.
Now he Ken Hauser to hand over the pension to him. I wonder if Hauser has a security detail ? The mayor owes him at least that much.

What kind of bodyguards leave their threatened and endangered client walking around unprotected on a golf course for hours on end?
In order to thwart any attacks, they should be marching with him on his right and left flanks armed with M-4's and bandoleros. What's that? Who are these coppers working this detail, anyway? In my twenty years on the job, I've never come across any of them or ever even heard of them. You used to know which guys worked for Daley, but you don't even hear about them anymore. Is is kept that quiet or did I just fall totally out of the loop in my older years?
If I'm not mistaken Burke gets body guards because he is the head of the finance committee.....don't kill the messenger this is what I heard?

pardon me son, but i am the author of the orig rant... first off, ive served 3 tours in vietnam.. been on this job for close to 30 years.. happily have and still am a blue shirt workin days. never taken a promotion test because im perfectly happy being a blue shirt and love my job and co-workers.. dont give me this serve your country crap... ive taken a 7.62 to the back for this country.. start sticking together and stop airing out our dirty laundry.. dont have clout, not on a detail and dont want to be.. love my job, love my life, love my fellow men in blue... its not my fault your all bitter..

No the city treasurer has 5 count em 5 bodyguards all cpd and a new crown vic,the leader of that team is an HDO hack who never worked the street! But was matt the rat rodriquez driver for years! The city clerk got in and threw all of his bodyguards out and drives himself everywhere!

So three tours in Nam. Nearly thirty years on the job. Got on in the early eighties...I agree with some of what you say about airing dirty laundry. But I have to say that the detail thing is bullshit. I'm glad he points it out. And yes, only those that haven't been would point out the sacrifices soldiers make in war. I wasn't in yours, but mine was just as shitty in it's own way.
I'm gonna keep drinking now.

You also forgot to mention the unjustified Blue Light Camera across from his house. Who pays for that? Who mans that camera? Where did the statistics come from to justify the camera being errected there? It never ends.
The security detail HAS to wait in their vehicles. PO's aren't allowed to consort with felons and that is exactly who The Burkster golfs with.
If someone took a shot at Burke from the tree-line at Beverly CC, it would be some outfit guy he fucked over in a city contract deal which was made at Beverly CC.
Think what you want about Robt. Cooley, get his book "When Corruption Was King" (go to the library or borrow a copy if you dont want to patronize him)and read how he details (facts) how BOTH Eddie Burke AND his Judge wifey should be in jail.
He also indicates at the end of the book his displeasure how the US Attorney took all his other info and got indictments (including a murder retrial of Harry da'Hitman Alamen sp?--1st ever non-double jeopardy retrial) and the US Attorney did NOT follow up on the Burke(s)
