Kass Article

Shaved covered this Sunday, so we're playing catch up. But Kass writes another great one:
  • Just two weeks before young Chicago Police Officer Alex Valadez was shot down on the edge of a vacant South Side lot, his alleged killer, Shawn Gaston, was in court, accused of another probation violation on a felony gun charge.

    That's right, another probation violation.

It wasn't Gaston's first alleged violation of probation. It wasn't his second. It was his third, Cook County prosecutors confirmed late last week.
Like we've said, a decent reporter can make a living just writing stories outlining the outrageous crap that Chicago, Cook County and Illinois politicos get into day after day after day.

The real trick is getting enough voters to care enough to make some changes.

You know, it sounds so easy to just not vote for the stuttering prick each time the election comes around. God knows I haven't voted for him.

The problem is what are the other choices? Wallace "Gator" Bradley? Dock Walls? Dorothy Brown? Holy shit no!!!

And the republicans? Can't even remember any of their names. You think it's a coincidence the choice is limited to people who are worthless? That is how the democratic machine operates.

Hell, Daley didn't even try to win the last election. Based on the competition, it was a given. Rest assured, that will happen again next time around.

Great article. Too bad it had to be written. Who cares if Lampkin has a "pro-prosecution" reputation. Remeber this name next election. We lost a 27year old brother in blue. She should lose her high-paying gig because of it.

That sir is responsible reporting. We'll wait to see if it ever makes the headlines. Way too many of these judges rule in favor of the defendant and are never ever held liable when they repeat.

The Feds launched Operation Graylord to rid cook County of Corrupt Judges/Attorneys & court personnel. It was a nice sweep of "rotten apples" from the system.

We now need someone to come in with a big broom and sweep out these stupid assholes that are still wearing judicial robes !!!!

One only has to look at past history of Cook County Criminal Courts to see that there still must be an invisible sign of justice for sale. If that's not the case, we need to get some jurists with actual experience with criminals. I believe that these judges need to meet some of these offenders on their turf & see how they feel with a loaded gun aimed at them. "Pow, Pow, BOOM" !!!!!!!!!

Well, SCC, we're all going to have to work very hard to rid ourselves of a great portion of the vermin in this city in 2011, aren't we?

BTW, reader's, I am the daughter of a now-deceased but quite-well-known detective, out of the Milwaukee Police Department.

I cannot hope to comfort any, or all of you, in re: the death of Officer Alejandro Valadez. And the severe injuries to Officer Coles. I wish, I truly wish, I could comfort any one of you. I, myself, felt devasted at his death by savage hostility.

Gentlemen and Ladies of CPD: Please know, there are many who support you here in the City of Chicago. If you march again, I will do my best, though I am disabled, to walk with you.

My Dad was a past-president of St. Jude's League in Milwaukee. Though he is not amongst us any longer, I remain his representative. And, if he were alive still, he would have attended Officer Valadez' funeral, out of sincere respect for a fellow-officer.

John Kass, a fellow-Greek, writes the truth, and at his peril. Please, protect him, or at least pray for his protection. He knows 'almost too much'.

Take heart, SCC and all CPD...you shall prevail, I feel, with regard to your contract/raise.

But...first...CPD must get rid of and replace the non-workers, the 'merits', the 'fingernail polishers'. That would include your 'Supe', who, though looking pretty buff for someone with half a brain on 'roids, must go away and be replaced by 'real police'.

I suggest YOU, SCC. Don't be so shy. You could still do the blog AND be Superintendent, couldn't you? Because you are whom you are?

After all, isn't the 'Supe's' job kind of like an alderman's--PART-TIME?

Look up shortshanks on Wikipedia it's way to flattering and out of touch. It says something about him being voted as one of the countries best mayors. I never saw that on the ballot. It does have a section mentioning his "controversies". The great thing is anyone can submit info and propose an edit of or addition to the biography. We should barrage them with submissions. I already did.

Judges should not come from the ranks of sleazy lawyers. In a better world, judges would be former or retired coppers who would see right through the bullshit that is being spewed forth by the defendant and his lawyers. Gavel bangs down on bench: GUILTY!

One of the reasons New York has a lower crime rate and murder rate than Chitcago is because they lock up criminals when they commit minor crimes... before they can commit major crimes. Daley was made aware of this policy but he rejected it for political reasons. Since most of these offenders were minorities Daley was worried what the Revs would think about all those Honor students being in jail instead of out on the corner.

SCC
Please keep up the pressure. If the taxpayers are made aware of what these shitheads are doing while they are out on probation they might wake up and vote the shankster out. You have the attention of the media. I think they might run with this story.
Voters are pissed about the meters and Police, Fire and city workers are pissed about the layoffs, lack of contracts and the pension debacle. Let's show them why they should be pissed about the murder rate. If shanks let the police do their job and the courts sentence the shitheads like they should, we might have a better city for us and our families. If he won't do it them let's replace him with someone who will.

These judges should be charged with murder. They used their own gross interpretations of the laws to let murders/dangerous felons walk the streets in the civilized society. Why are they allowed to get away with this? Why are they not held accountable? Everyone should rise up and call for their heads and prosecution and we should not rest till these morons are all put away so everyone can be safe and go home to their families.

Thanks SCC...

I am sorry to inform everyone that there are just not enough votes to beat the machine in Cook County. I know antyhing is possible but this is highly improbable. Unless, and this is a big unless, the people of Chicago decide that things must change to save the city. We cannot keep giving "things" away for votes and we are doing just that and we are running out of money. They give away, jobs, housing, positions (judges, supervisors,) everything possible. If every Police Officer and Fire Fighter voted against these tyrants there would not be enough votes, if their families also voted against the tyrants there still would not be enough votes. It is starting to spread nationwide. Maybe the solution is Revolution.

Yeah the same judge Lampkin who has a case before her involving a CFD firefighter ,of close to 30 years, with no criminal history who was the victim of the great Area 2 gun team. Let's see the A/2 gun team lied on a search warrant, has no CI but Lampkin refused the defendant a white firefighter a "Franks Motion" She told the firefighter there will be no felony probation he will go to jail. But rumor has it A/2 gun team screwed up big time and ASA is offering a deal cause the case is shit. Hang in there Ted the truth will come out on the racist Lampkin and the A/2 gun team.

If the assholes were shooting judges instead of police officers you would damn well see some change and howls of protest. Remember when Judge Lefkow's family was murdered? Full court press by the Feds and anyone with a uniform. The judges all over the country were howling for protection after that murder. Funny they don't howl like that when their decisions cause an officer to be murdered.

Area Three was a Fed outpost for the huge task force of assembled law enforcement. That was serious damnit. A judge! But a police officer get a nice sendoff and the bagpipes and words of self defense from the judge who lets the scum out of jail after repeated probation violations.

Supposedly that judge has police in her family and is normally considered a "good" judge, but this is Cook County, the land of the misdemeanor murder and these things are done, the release of individuals even after repeated violations of probation.

Someone tell these judges that there is now plenty of room at Cook County Jail and likely in IDOC too.
