Uh-Oh

  • An entrenched low pressure system approaching Lake Huron will generate gusty northwest winds, spreading cloudiness back over and pulling cool Canadian air into the western Great Lakes and Midwest the first half of the week.

The instability created by this far-reaching low could trigger scattered afternoon and nighttime showers later Monday and Tuesday. The cloud cover along with the unseasonably cold air will result in temperatures struggling to warm out of the 60s, even during the afternoon -- especially Tuesday.

Late in the week, the low pressure system gradually moves east and weakens.
83 degrees Friday. 85 degrees Saturday. So the night of 03 July will be warm, but not oppressively hot. A perfect night for about a million people to head to the lakefront and watch the show. And we aren't just talking about fireworks.

Be careful boys and girls.

Highlight at the taste of shitcago tonight

Mounted Patrol Officer and Partner (HORSE) galloped down an offender for PSMV.

Bad guy southbound on LSD fled from stolen vehicle at Buckingham fountain and then ran through the Taste of Chicago. The mounted officer/horse chased down the offender onto Michigan Ave.

OUTSTANDING!!!! Officer box#1. Horse box#2.

Ah, it's time for Summerfest up in BrewTown, my old college stomping grounds.

If I ever miss seeing roving bands of young mutts, I'll just park on Independence Boulevard on the midnights. Woof, woof! NOT!

Yes! Civilized friendly folks, great food, cold beer and great music (Bob Dylan, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, George Strait, Stevie Wonder, Bon Jovi, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chicago, Huey Lewis and the News, et al.) are less than 2 hours north.

I just wish that the Ohio band McGuffey Lane made it this year. I hear they're really good.

The Naperville RibFest and the Lake County Fair also may be worthwhile.

The last place you'll find me is at "the Taste". My condolences to Chicago's Finest that are assigned.

If you can get a day off, Special K, do join us in Milwaukee. It's another world.

The only things I'll miss about working CPD on the Fourth of July and the Bud Billiken Day Parade are those succulent and delicious barbecue rib freebies in Garfield and Washington Parks.

I'd have a better shot at wandering the halls of CIA Langley than getting those good brothas and sistas to give up their recipes for their secret barbecue sauces. Finger lickin' good!

Between in-progress calls, the best barbecue on planet Earth was to be found in Garfield Park on the Fourth and Labor Day.

Could be swine flu.

Saw a report recently that over a million people have already gotten it in the US including several hundred deaths.

Same report said US army is preparing for whole units that may be unable to perform their duties.

Can you imagine Chicago with 15 or 20% of CPD and CFD out with the flu?

While admittedly, Summerfest gets high marks for family enjoyment, you don't want to stray too far from the festival grounds.

Though nothing I've EVER seen can match the bloodbath going on in Chicago lately, Milwaukee is hardly Xanadu on the lake.

Two MPD officers were shot multiple times on June 9th without even being able to draw their weapons in an unprovoked attack by an 18 yr old they stopped on the street, (both survived). http://www.todaystmj4.com/enews/
alerts/47955421.html

Two weeks ago, a gunman opened fire at a neighborhood festival shooting one person multiple times.

Last month a motorist was shot in the head driving on Milwaukee's North side.

And just this morning, two people were shot in another shooting incident.

And all this while the rabble are calling for MPD Chief Ed Flynn's resignation after last weeks admission of an extra-marital affair, (at least he didn't disappear to Argentina!).

Any truth to the fact that Tom Skilling will be named as the new Deputy Superintendent of the Bureau of Crime Reduction and Meterology? Supposedly if he can keep the weekends cool and shitty for the next two years he'll be able to work off some of his brothers sentence in the Fed pen.

At least he has more credibility in one of "our" uniforms than Caveman Jody has.

"90 and above this weekend Tommy!"
