Testify! Testify!

  • A federal judge on Monday left the door open to compelling Chicago aldermen to testify for the defense in the upcoming trial of a developer accused of passing bribes for a zoning change.

Ten current and former aldermen have been trying to block subpoenas brought by attorneys for developer Calvin Boender, who faces a March 8 trial on charges that he bribed then-Ald. Isaac “Ike” Carothers (29th).

Carothers has pleaded guilty and submitted his resignation.

U.S. District Judge Robert M. Dow Jr. said Monday he was likely to deny the aldermen’s bid to quash the subpoenas outright but he still questioned whether their testimony would be relevant at trial.

Oh, it'll be relevant all right. It'll be relevant like a spotlight:
  • Five of the subpoenaed aldermen sat on a committee that advanced a zoning change allowing Boender to redevelop the 50-acre Galewood Yards from industrial to residential use.

Authorities charge that Carothers approved the zoning change after Boender bankrolled $40,000 in improvements to the Carothers’ residence. Defense lawyers want to ask other aldermen the reasoning behind their votes.

We sense a whole a bunch of verbal gymnastics and squirming.

Joseph V. Roddy is the developer's attorney. This is the former FOP associated attorney that is in bed with the City of Chicago. He is best friends with Alderman Patrick O'Connor and Alderman Brian Doherty.

I believe this is just more of a circus charade being played than anything of substance.

Don't buy into the theatrics of Chicago Machine politics, look beyond the charade.

When will the Feds question former Alderman Ike Carrothers about his dealings with Police Board cases?

There is something lurking there too.

This is all a way to put the pieces together before anyone slips up. Two Alderman have already sat down with Roddy to develop a strategy to minimize this thing.

Alderman Ocasio, Banks and Doherty are all leaving or have already left.

HAAA-HAAAA!

Get 'em!

Compel those decaying whores to testify!

Tell 'em "Fuck you and your home made, make believe legislative immunity, now get yer funky ass on the stand and raise your right hand!"

It'll be as entertaining as watching the enemy get shot-gunned into oblivion as they flee a burning pill box.

We have no sympathy for these or any other aldercreature at all.

Life in prison and total consfiscation of assets would be a start.

It would do us good to see some of them dressed in rags, stinking, flea-bitten, homeless and toothless being rousted from sleeping in abandoned buildings.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people...

Hey, don't forget "Little Louie" Gutierrez. He figured prominently in Ike's push.

Any copper that worked in 014 in the 80's would love to see that member of the FALN bomb thrower tossed in jail.

Just like the Honorable Richard M. Daley, I believe that the City Council is comprised of intrepid men and women of integrity who provide outstanding leadership.

They're just misunderstood.

Hey Kelly: David Hoffman's Campaign

Daley has a few BIG PROBLEMS on the horizons, and if I was a potential mayoral candidate for a city that HATES its incumbent mayor, I'd be taking notes...and advantages, of ex-mayor's Daley's upcoming misfortunes , most notably...
The Firefighters lawsuit thats gonna to cost the city upwards of
100 million dollars

The Ike Carothers debacle

The handgun ban lawsuit

The Weis contract extension

The CTA mess

The Cook County election brouhahaha

and the numerous infrastructure cronyism, corruption and taxation fuckups that are the hallmark of the Daley administration.
Hoffman for Mayor 2011.

Next week, the Supreme Court will hear McDonald v. City of Chicago.

Da Mare (with his 40-man bodyguard detail armed with fully automatic weapons) is an irrational fool. Why does the media even cover the anti-gun rhetoric of an imbecile that is drunk with power?

God bless Sgt. Al Haymaker. Any truth to bald tires on the pool car and a "no salt" order to S&S on LSD before the sarge was killed?

We're just cannon fodder for the WEISel and that sleazy crook. Wait for the crocodile tears at Al's funeral.

SCC, will you please post these youtube videos. I'm sure most people have seen the first one for sure but maybe not the second. Anybody who was ever rode public transit in Chicago has seen situations like these. Its about time people started standing up to these idiots so that they realize that we are not afraid of them.

24 Feb, 1st day of hearings in the actual contract arbitration. This excruciatingly slow process marches on, 4 Mar will be the 2nd and hopefully last day of hearings. Then in 45 days a decision. then in another 120 retro, Maybe.

And officers, please remember why we have waited almost three years for a contract and why it has been such a painfully drawn out miserable protracted battle:

richard m. daley

No other reason. Dump this lousy corrupt miserable prick in 2011.
