Amid all the hyperactive "reporting" tying a Michigan Militia group to Christians, right-wing hate groups, Tea Party activists and every other entity opposed to the Obama socialist agenda, an old acquaintance of ours writes what we think is about the most accurate piece out there so far:
- An undercover FBI agent and a cooperating witness were involved in an investigation that led to the arrests of nine people, accused of being law enforcement-hating militiamen who plotted to kill police officers in Michigan.
A government filing in the case indicates an undercover FBI agent as well as an unidentified cooperating witness helped provide intelligence to a federal grand jury about at least one of the alleged members of the group -- Thomas Piatek, who delivers steel drums for a South Side company. - ... When militia members allegedly set an April date to carry out their attack, they crossed the line from "just fantasy," she said. "
There are people on both sides of the political spectrum that hate each and every one of us because we wear the uniform of a police officer. We are the most visible functionary of government. We are easily identifiable by our uniform and are tasked with carrying out the laws passed by the elected legislators, regardless of personal feelings. This makes us targets. And sometimes the targets are well-armed morons who dream up some scary shit.
We won't get into the piss-poor reporting done on this story, nor the media smear jobs twisting this into something it obviously isn't. Violence against the police and government isn't the exclusive domain of either political wing, but it has been advocated and exercised far more often by the leftists than the right.

Did the Media report on what a Left wing black militant Maurice Clemmons, 37 who killed the four 4 Tacoma Washington police officers was ? No they didnt. They just made him out to e an indipendant actor. He is actually tied to a militant black hate group. He actually killed police to unlike the inchate offense of the Michigan inbread crew.
Although I have a great disdain for militia groups, and in light of the right wing "hate crimes" that the state run media has been reporting this past week, the timing of these arrests are suspect. Especially since Janet Napolitano claimed that returning military vets and white militia were a greater danger to the U.S. than muslim terrorists.

Extremism is dangerous from any front. Some of our home grown terrorist have been more deadly to the US than foreigners. Train to seek, spot, and kill them before they get you, your partner, or God forbid your family.

Even with all of this overt hatred for the police, I still see dummies, almost daily, who commute to and from work/court/side gig, etcetera in full or partial uniform.
And if it isn't the uniform, it's the personal vehicle plastered with FOP medallions, stickers...and yes, even the fucking hatband draped from the rearview mirror. These things were NEVER cool, and any advantages/perks these displays might have had at one time died many, many years ago when every non-police jagoff relative, friend or "significant other" started cruising around with them on their cars.
There are still plenty of Hair Gels that think this job and the uniform commands the respect of everyone else. They may have 20 + years ago, but that certainly isn't the case these days. Wait until you're at a red light in the ghetto on your way home from work and dude takes a shot or two at you because you locked him up last year. He knows you'll be passing through about the same time every night because he's there every night. Plus, he's only recognized you and your car because you weren't smart enough to drive a different route home from time to time.
In short, it's not just the people you deal with in a particular area on a regular basis that hate you. There are plenty of people who look at law enforcement as the enemy for a myriad of reasons, and would love to get their five minutes of fame as a cop killer. With very few exceptions, there's nothing we can do while at work to disguise our identities. Don't make it any easier for these motherfuckers to figure out who you are off duty.

I agree. You have to remember the origins of the terms "right" and "left." Prior to the French Revolution, those that sat on the right were supportive of the King, supportive of order. Those on the left were not.
Generally, if you are on the "right" you support the basic structure of the government, and you don't want to tear it down.
So it is kind of back-asswards to have someone on the right want to overthrow the gov't.
But the midget is doing his part to solve this problem,

There is nothing new under the sun. In the late 1960's and early 1970's people like Bill Ayers plotted to blow up police stations and kill police. OT. Was in traffic court today, I noticed a large jug on the floor with money in it. I asked the corrections officer was the collection was for and he said it was for the state trooper recently injured when hit by a motorist on the highway. Apparently she's in pretty bad shape and I was told her police days are over. If ur at the Daley center, make sure to toss a few bucks into jug for te cause

These guys are nuts, no doubt but this appears to be a well timed media event. Remember that one of the functions of an armed citizenry is to prevent a tyrannical government. I suspect more stories like this to emerge prior to some democrat gun grabbing legislation.

They hate the police who they feel represent the government and laws which they vehemently disagree with....which by the way we do. FDR did start what we now know as "the welfare state." FDR did coerce SCOTUS by threatening to pack the court (add justices who would see it FDR's way).
Most of what these extremists have a problem with is federal usurpation of power - which has mostly been accomplished via the commerce clause, and somewhat via the general welfare clause.
I have studied this at length. You may disagree with whether federal usurpation is good/bad ... but you can't possibly argue that I'm wrong on the facts.

Their favorite activity is to loudly picket military funerals to protest tolarance of gay rights and activities.
