Before I retired over ten years ago wasn't there some talk of the dispatchers being able to access some data base that was going to tell the responding unit if the location had a registered gun in it and the occupant was wanted on warrants or domestic order of protection and prior calls etc at that location. What ever happended to that procedure to protect the responding unit?
Assuming that there is a gun on scene is like assuming that there's a real dildo somewhere in your chain of command, .... you're usually more right than you know!

The key aim of the program funded by the federal Department of Homeland Security was to improve communications and decision-making in case of a terror attack, natural disaster or other major emergency here by installing new, state-of-the-art video cameras on police cars and at stationary locations throughout the county and linking them to a central command center.
All 129 municipalities in Cook County were supposed to be included in the system. But faced with problems that included cameras that didn't work properly, suburbs including Tinley Park, Berwyn, Park Ridge and Morton Grove opted out.

On the tape, you hear the nut-job, estranged husband breaking into the woman's home and shooting her dead while she's talking with 911 on the other end. She'd made like three calls to 911 before she's shot in her own home.
The police were minutes away and in this case they were many minutes away. Why that was doesn't really matter because as is generally the case in such a situation, SECONDS mattered.
Had this woman been given the right to have a gun and had she been trained in it's use after the restraining order was issued against her husband, and had she been willing to use it, she very well might be alive today.
But no, the media doesn't play that tape over and over right now because they only want to give one side of the debate and that's the bullshit side Daley and JFed shovel. That guy HAS got to be defeated in the next election.

something burns my tail every time I hear about or see that clip.
Do you ever wonder why we never see the whole tape anymore? (We only saw the whole thing the first couple of days after the release of the tape.) Because the end of that tape shows an uninjured bartender hopping up and down, laughing, raising her arms in the air and clasping her hands together like Rocky after a victory in the ring.
I guess that wouldn't play to the masses, or to the judge, eh? I'm not an Abbate fan, by any stretch, but that piece of film was incomplete, and untruthful, and the public needs to be reminded they are being manipulated.

WEISel didn't give us ANYTHING. Miami PDs former chief started allowing his troops to purchase, qualify with and carry their own M4's after crime rose out there long before we could do so here. Miami's Chief cited that the Dept. couldn't afford to purchase them, but allowed the troops to "suit up" for the increased threat. WEISel didn't do anything original there. He's not bright enough to actually be anything close to INNOVATIVE, nor is the Policy Group. And Miami PD didn't make their guys jump fences or climb trees to be able to carry them either; just learn how to adequately point & shoot the damn thing, and you're approved.
I can't imagine why anyone would want a .380 for off-duty. It's a fine hideout gun for undecover drug duty, but there are better guns the same approximate size with superior firepower that I'd rather carry in my gonads or tucked away under my clothes off duty to protect me & my family with.

Daley has done such a good job of producing a vague, generalized stink -- "Guns aren't allowed in Chicago" -- that most citizens don't realize that, while handguns were banned (through simply "not accepting registrations") IT IS PERFECTLY LEGAL FOR A CITIZEN TO REGISTER A RIFLE OR SHOTGUN.
...and there is "the gun in the house." Not a pot-metal .22 revolver, but a .30-'06 or something far more lethal ballistically -- yet still not problematic among civilized peoples with some tradition of hunting, target shooting, etc. rather than murdering each other in hallways over games of dice.
Just got a letter back from Cozzi and we was very nice and appreciative of all the mail he gets. Please keep writing!

First, a guy who hasn't been more than twenty feet from a gun his entire life, seeing as how the CPD babysat him, drove him everywhere, and has been his bodyguard for over 60 years now.
Not only his fuckin' ass, but his whole family. And one car is not enough, he has to have a "tail car." The shankster doesn't need a pistol, if he was ever threatened he could just start screeching. No one could withstand that noise. He should be the poster child for the deaf. This guy considers everyone a surf, waiting to do his bidding. The punk had to have the police chauffeur him from 35th Wabash to 35th Lowe. "Someone might hurt me, daddy hoghead." If Fitzgerald ever gets his gums off of Daley's angry Irish inch, he should resign and let an honest US Attorney bring Daley to his day of reckoning.

In 25 one P.O. along with her partner , stopped three bangers and her partner heard a clank and of course this P.O. was clueless and did'nt see a thing, her partner recovered a weapon on the ground. This same P.O. failed to search a subject thourougly and a gun was recovered on the floor during a transport. Watch your backs sometimes unfortunately you get stuck with unsafe Officers who were not trained or just plain stupid.
