Baseball Season Begins

Didn't last year start like this?
  • Mark Buehrle and Paul Konerko supplied the blend of pitching and power that old-school White Sox fans have relished for years.

As for those supporters who sought change, Alex Rios and Buehrle provided remarkable defense while the Sox fulfilled manager Ozzie Guillen's crusade to run aggressively on the base paths.

  • The Cubs are marketing the 2010 season as "Year One," referring to the first year of the Ricketts family ownership.

But on the first day of Year One, the Cubs suffered their worst Opening Day defeat in 126 years, losing 16-5 to Atlanta before 53,081 at Turner Field.
Only 161 more games to go.

Zambrano is a JOKE!!!!! Guy gets a huge contract and then could care less. He couldn't even make it through 2 innings. He sucks every year and he is supposed to be their ACE???? Soriano is the same. Huge contract and then sucks. Another hot dog with a fat wallet. It's hard to believe Jim Hendry is still around with all the money he has wasted. Zambrano, Soriano, Milton Bradley, and Fukeadome. These useless fools have handcuffed the Cubs financially, thanks to Jim Hendry, the worst GM in the MLB.

Year 1, Game 1, 16-5 L

Game One of ‘Year One’ one to forget for Cubs

ATLANTA — The Cubs are marketing the 2010 season as "Year One," referring to the first year of the Ricketts family ownership.

But on the first day of Year One, the Cubs suffered their worst Opening Day defeat in 126 years, losing 16-5 to Atlanta before 53,081 at Turner Field.

Manager Lou Piniella said it was "somewhat of an embarrassing loss," which was somewhat of an understatement.

"We've got to pitch better," he said. "I never envisioned giving up 16 runs on Opening Day, never in my wildest dreams."
---

It's the CUBS!
prepare for Century 2 of futility
"worst Opening Day defeat in 126 years"
The Cubs are setting records so early in the Ricketts' regime

I'm a Sox fan not a Cub fan but there's no denying Zambrano has a lot of talent. He's such a head case that he's never been able to put it all together. The Cubs have to really consider unloading him and his bloated contract. Of course all MLB teams are well aware of his instability and his overpriced contract so that would be much easier said than done.

I will give the Sox their due....after all, they can count among their fans Daley and Obama. With fans like that I'll stay with the National League.

Let's not forget what cap Obama was wearing as he threw out the first ball in DC yesterday.

That is enough for me to burn my Sox stuff.
