Cops Hurt

Not life threatening injuries, but a scary few seconds:
  • A pursuit by Hammond, Ind., police led to a traffic crash across the border on Chicago's Far South Side tonight, sending two on-duty Chicago police officers and three civilians to hospitals, officials said.

All five victims were taken from the scene to various hospitals but none of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening, the officials said. One of the civilian victims is a juvenile.

The crash happened at East 119th Street and South Torrence Avenue about 7:40 p.m.

Initial reports had a vehicle (possibly the pursued vehicle) flipping over and strike the unmarked squad car. The officers are expected to be OK (one actually chased the offender on foot). Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Take the summer off, boys! Enjoy the time with your families and friends. The circus will still be in town when you and your doctor decide it's time to return.

Best wishes for a total and not-so-speedy recovery.

Those 42G units, I think the a/2 gun team were on scene out there gaurding the perimeter with 004 beat and tact cars following footprints of offender. Good job and plan set up by the working police. Too bad the helicopter was not up that night. It would have been the best. The officers I hope pull through. The accident scene was a mess. Canine did their best. Cops all over trying to get the bad guy.

Heal well and keep all your
medical records, pay for them if
you have to. You will feel good
soon but you will be back on the job and using whatever parts that were injured LD and you will get older and something might flair up
due to those injuries. You only get one body, take care of it.

Be Safe*****

Another pursuit by CICERO PD resulted in one accident at least one Cicero Cop hurt (speedy recover we hope) one Citizen injured(ditto) and three offenders in custody (rot in hell) for a shots fired incident in Cicero.

Also one pitbull shot by CPD, (shame about that dog) all of this in 010.

As if we didn't have enough problems of our own. Good Job by All Good Guys.

The helicopter was not up. They said it was too windy and lightenin was in the area! The 004th District was there in true numbers, well at least the few numbers they have. J-Fled, why don't you put some more police here? Try that!

Thanks to the few outside Unit help. You guys are down too!Its funny how no one ever says that. They put the numbers low so you guys could look manned. We are down city-wide. If a major incident does occur, YOU Mayor Daley, do not have the manpower to cover! Did you ever think about that?

Hopefully the huret officers see this...Torrence Avenue has been in UNSAFE shape for the last few years. It is riddked with dangerous potholes. I dare anyone to spend a few hours out of their day to see how many vehicles become disabled. There is a sewer half caved in thats been the subject of many, many City Service Requests over the last 3 months and nothing has been done about it.

If you are hurt officers, get an attorney and sue the city. Get a good atorney who can pull the records of calls for repair and instances of vehicle damage and/or accidebts occuring from the city's lack of proper maintenance.
