Wah Wah Wah!

They're installing parking pay boxes on the south side. Guess who's unhappy?
  • A South Side alderman is blasting the Chicago Park District over its moves to put parking meter “pay and display” boxes in South Side parks and other facilities.

5th Ward Alderman Leslie Hairston says some residents in her area were upset when they saw pay and display parking meter boxes being installed in the park near the Museum of Science and Industry, the South Shore Cultural Center and even near some basketball courts.

Chicago Park District Spokeswoman Jessica Maxey Faulkner says the metered spaces are no surprise. She says the North Side parks already have meters, and plans for the South Side parks were announced some time ago.

You'd think that Leslie may have voted on something like this at some point?

Leslie was either asleep or missed that meeting, she is only a part time alderperson.

If I had any say-so in the matter, I'd pay Leslie Hairston her 100K-plus part time salary in quarters this year. And at least half of that would be in Canadian quarters.

I think the City should install one of those pay boxes on top of Hairston's head. It might be the only time in her life that she would have something of substance inside of her skull.

Hey alderscum! You helped build the Daley monster and now you are upset that the monster is on the loose in your neighborhood now? What, you were hoping the monster would stay north? Sorry, but you are responsible for what you have done at city hall. You are a mindless puppet for your master, Daley. hahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!

Actually, as an alderman, she wouldn't have voted on anything having to do with the Park District meter contract. That was handled separately from the city's, by the Chicago Park District Board, which is appointed by the mayor. So she can only protest.

HAHA !

So parking extortion is okay for the north side but intolerable for the tax consumers on the south side. We even have meters on side streets up here ! It is actually pretty funny to expect people who drive without licenses and insurance to pay to park.

5th Ward Alderman Hairston wants the “pay and display” parking boxes modified to accept LINK cards as a form of payment.

The parking receipts will also soon print out a discount coupon for 10% off a bag of flamin' hots together with a grape or orange soda during normal breakfast hours of 12 noon to 400pm.

What's good for the northside is good for the southside. Those aldergoofs voted for this so eat it citywide.
That is all.

Just how many more metered parking spots can this damn company put in. I have seen plenty of places that didn't have meters that now have "pay and display" boxes. Is there a limit as to how many they can add? or is it everywhere that they can find to make money?
