My heart sinks when I see what these people at 35th street have done to the CPD. Daley is the main problem, but merit has made many sell their souls and the CPD along with it. I have not heard one police officer of any rank say anything good about the leadership at 35th street. In fact, I hear many bosses from Lt.'s and up say how fucked up 35th street is and how they can't wait to retire. In the past it was rare to hear bosses talk openly about stuff like that. More sad times to come. RIP CPD.
I would never advocate boycotting St Jude, but wearing a yellow ribbon to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and how J.P.W. shits on their sacrifice is a great idea.

I think it's a good thing that he left and didn't hang with the troops at the crime scene because he's not a police officer and would only get in the way and do more harm than good. Who wants to see him anyway? All he will do is look down his nose at us and call his policy group to find out what to do next. What if he didn't like what one of us did and pulled a Bill Cozzi again? I work in a busy southside district and I have never seen him in person yet and could care less about him or any other big shot from 35th street. We do just fine without them around. Just don't trust these guys at all.

I've been reading the blog regularly now for a few months and I've come to get a feel for what it's like to work for CPD. I'm the police in the suburbs and while I always dreamed of being CPD since I was a kid growing up in the 004, Im somewhat grateful i don't have to put up with the endless bullshit you guys talk about here...from ex-gang member co-workers all the way up to the criminals in city council and the mayors office. I sometimes wonder if and pray that the city and it's police department isn't doomed to go the way of detroit and so many other crumbling cities..right now there's a Daley and a weis, In a year there could be persons much more incompetent, much more corrupt, much more dangerous...I pray that god bless and watch over all of you.

This is just the last straw for so many of us. It is time brothers and sisters in blue and those now in white, it is time for us to stop talking about it and do something. Two things we can do to have an immediate impact....Lets march on city hall!! Last I checked, none of the bosses mentioned deserve anything but to be replaced back to the Civil Service rank they were granted. I would add a few, but I would not take any away. All mentioned are complete tools for the Superintendent and no matter how much they try and say they support us, they do not. They use their position for a reason not to. Come one, they need to use the position they have TO SUPPORT US! It is time for the Exempt members of CPD to stand in support of us and tell the truth publically and honestly regarding Jfled.
Exempts, you are the police also, well some of you! We need to bring us all back into a positive light. jfled and his crew have a pension. Ours is on the chopping block. The more negativity we have to deal with in the media, the less likely we are to win our fight to live beyond the age of 55. Do you guys even understand what this means?
